*ruby was running away but it didn't last long, being the desert there was no place for her to hide. Rope was lassoed around her neck making ruby fall on the floor chocking as she was dragged back to her captures*

Jim:I got the bloody thing guys!

*Ruby struggled to free herself her hands clawing at the rope trying to break it*

Mike:still can't believe Jake is actually dead man he was a legend

*Mike placed his foot on Ruby's stomach and injected her with a syringe that blocks the semblance for a few hours. Stopping ruby from using it to escape*

Jim; doesn't matter come on let's bring them back to the capital for our reward

*Jim said grabbing ruby by her hair and pushed her inside a cage with another patch of captured slaves that tried to make a run for it. Ruby got up and grabbed the bars of the cage looking the freedom of the desert becoming smaller and smaller. Being freed from Jake for a few days only to be captured again, ruby fell to her knees losing all hope*

Real world

*Pyrrha woke ruby up again from the last class. Ruby yawned rubbing her eyes feeling extra bitter from that memory*

Ruby"stupid kid, raven was right I got caught because I was too weak. Not anymore, never...never again"

*Ruby thought to herself as she walked next to her team, Pyrrha gave ruby a small smile*

Pyrrha:so what did you think about your first day of education since pre-school?

*Pyrrha asked in her usual kind voice that just irked Ruby the wrong way. Ruby felt miserable she spend hours and hours on her first real day of school*

Ruby:so I have to do this shit every day?

*Ruby said rubbing her eyes, they were in pain with the amounts of naps she took in her classes, Pyrrha gave an awkward smile as she shrugged her shoulders*

Pyrrha:5 days a week, we get Saturday and Sunday off though

Ruby: lovely

*Ruby said in a dry tone as she takes a right turned while the team took a left*

Nora:hey where you going?!

Ruby: ozpin's office it's about time we discuss my payments amongst other things, don't wait up I'll be a while

*Ruby said waving at them dismissively. She dashed with her semblance before Pyrrha could invite herself*

Ruby:finally some alone time

*Ruby said with a sigh of satisfaction walking to the elevator*

Nora:yes finally we're alone

Ruby:Jesus!!

*Ruby jumped out of her skin hand on her grip as she looked at a smiling Nora that appeared out of nowhere*

Nora:heya buddy! Sorry did I scare you?

Ruby:what do you....!! N..no no you did not, you surprised me that's it

*Ruby said through gritted teeth trying to regain part of her dignity. She coughed and fixed her hair*

Ruby:Nora, what are you doing here? I thought I said don't wait up ?

Nora:you did, but then I remembered that you can't be left alone, so I volunteered myself to be by yourself until we get back

*Ruby's eye started to twitch and tail started to rattle quite a bit, she took some deep calming breath as she placed an annoyed smile on her face*

Ruby:little girl

Nora:little? But I'm older and bigger then you shorty

*NOra said in a teasing tone without a single malicious intent behind her words. Ruby's hand twitched closer to defense's grip again*

Ruby:.  .  .right, Nora how much do you know about snakes?

Nora: absolutely nothing!

Ruby:then let me give you a bit of a crash course, snake are solitary creatures. They don't like when you invade there personal space and when there tails rattle it means your invading there space and are annoying them

Nora:oh! Like your tail is doing right now?

*Nora said her smile never leaving, ruby nodded her smile a lot more forced*

Ruby:yes,....like my tail is doing right now. Nora I'm a snake faunus and I enjoy spending some alone time, you know by myself....without anybody around?

Nora:but your also part human and humans are social creatures that need to be around other people so let's go to ozpin!

*Nora said interlocking her arm on Ruby's human arm and dragging her away*

Meanwhile with Pyrrha and Ren

*We see pyrrha sharpening her weapon while Ren was doing something magical, he was sleeping alone without the fear that Nora will join and interrupt his sleep*

Back with ruby

*The elevator door opened, ruby and Nora walked inside, ruby glanced at Glynda sitting down in her own chair and desk. Ruby grew a small smirk on her face, ruby sat down with Nora standing up behind her. Ozpin finished his cup of coffee and looked at ruby*

Ozpin:ah miss rose how has your day been treating you?

*Ruby leaned back putting her boots on ozpin's desk, ozpin frowned slightly but ruby ignored it*

Ruby:boring, annoying and more boring. But that can wait, let's talk business. My payment for doing this job you've so graciously offered me

Ozpin:alright I'm sure we can come to an agreeable amount how much?

Ruby:100,000 per semester. With bonus if I kill of one of the targets with proof that he was a rat

*Ozpin almost spat out his coffee on ruby, ruby eyes didn't changed she showed no fear*

Ruby:you wanted my services, ain't my fault you didn't ask for my prices up front
"since I know they're only paying you scraps without that license." Does that phrase ring a bell? You actually thought I work for cheap? Hunter's aren't the only ones making money if you know where to look

Ozpin;what makes you think I'll pay that much?

Ruby;might have something to do with the fact that my new leader offered up 500,000 lien to find me in vacuo

Ozpin:you actually thought we were gonna pay that?

*Ruby raised her eye her anger slowly rising. Her tail rattled slightly as she kept looking at ozpin waiting for an explanation*

Ozpin:if one of those people were to find you I would give them some money sure but never that high an amount, Pyrrha had no right to tell them such a lie.

Ruby"so Milly was never gonna be a normal kid huh? Sucks to be here I guess"

Ruby:sounds more to me like your just a slimy little rat like your friend James

Ozpin:oh you've met each other?

Ruby:quite the few moons ago yes. But now that I know the truth I'll make it really simple money wise, 100,000 per semester and that original 500,000 lien in cash or I shoot my way out of here

*The room quickly got tense as ruby had one hand on self, while Glynda was getting ready to interfere. Ozpin and ruby kept looking at each other with fake smiling expressions*

Ozpin:you sure you want to do that? Not even gonna give me a chance to negotiate?

Ruby:you overplayed your hand ozma I don't care about an education, why would I when I know how to shoot my guns? The only thing I care about is liens. Now what happens next is completely up to you, either you agree to my payment or you don't which will mean I'll have to shoot you. Then Glynda over there will get involved and it'll be a real mess

*Ruby dropped her feet back to the ground and sat up straight her left hand never leaving the grip*

Ruby:so what's it gonna be?

Scene change

Location vacuo

Time: dead of night

*We see an extremely tired ruby, silver eyes or not, her semblance has limits and she's pushing them. She cleaned herself up and knocked on the door, loud enough to wake the people inside*

???:Milly get that bloody door!

Milly:I heard it!!

*The second the door opened ruby disappeared in to an explosion of rose petals. Milly was confused until she looked down at a briefcase. She opened it and she felt her heart jump up to her throat*

*Her hands started to tremble as she looked up far at the roof of another building she saw the rose of vacuo looking down at her. Milly started to cry as she waved at the rose with a huge smile on her face. Ruby grew a soft smile and tipped her hat at Milly before exploding again in to rose petals disappearing in to the directions of vacuo's capital. Once there she walked to glynda who was waiting at the airship*

Glynda:and the briefcase with the 500 large?

Ruby:put it with the rest of my hidden stash don't worry ozpin didn't waste his money for nothing

*Ruby lied as she walked inside the airship Glynda sighed annoyed that she had do fly ruby all the way out here. Ruby didn't care she just enjoyed the view of her home as they flew off her thoughts on Milly and her new life that she will have away from the wild west that is vacuo*

Ruby" being a normal kid? Wonder what that's like...."
