*Ruby muttered holding herself tightly trying to stay warm as she walked next to Jake*

Jake:your not alone, but I'm paying a favor to James so we'll endure the cold for a few moons

Ruby:are you gonna finally tell me what are we supposed to do?

*Jake and ruby stopped walking they were in front of a forest thick with trees as far as the eye can see*

Jake:oh it's getting me misty eye this place reminds me of the day I met you

*Jake said with a snarl of a smile placing his hand on her shoulder. Ruby didn't even react, her eyes were blank, numb even*

Ruby:the mission Jake

*Ruby said her voice devoid of emotion, Jake hummed pushing ruby ahead of him, ruby walked ahead amd looked at Jake who tossed her one of his revolvers, ruby caught it*

Jake:our mission is to kill a Grimm haunting this parts, it keeps killing off atlas soldiers so James asked for someone with more fire power that's me and a associate of mine

*Ruby nodded the idea of shooting Jake not even coming inside her mind since James managed to break the rose in to a nice loyal dog for his good friend jake *

Ruby:and where is this friend of yours?

???:friend is a strong word, like he said I'm just an associate, but anytime i get to show James up is a chance I'll gladly take

*A male voice came out from above her and landed next to Jake*

Qrow:the name's Qrow Qrow brawnen

Real world

Port:and that's how I manage to kill a hoard of beowolves with just my trusty axe!

*We see the class listening to professor Port's tale of his glory days that are long gone, people like Weiss and Pyrrha were paying attention like good students, others like jaune, Nora and yanf were struggling to pay attention, people like ren, mercury, and most of the other students were pretending to listen when in reality they were either playing there scrolls or doing anything for entertainment. And then they was ruby rose who was just sleeping not even pretending to be interested with her hat covering her face and feet on the table*

Port:now that's enough of focusing my glorious past, it's time for 2 of the students here to have the honor to prove themselves as huntsman!

*To the surprise of no one Weiss stood up with her usual arrogant expression that only a spoiled rich brat could give*

Port:yes mis schnee?

Weiss: professor, I nominate myself as one of the two!

Port:wonderful simply wonderful the next one I'll decide myself let's....

*Port stopped talking and frowned as he finally saw ruby rose sleeping*

Port:oh? What have we here?

*Port said walking up to ruby who was currently busy in her own little memory*

*a gut curdling scream could be heard in the woods as ruby was running for her life, she would get scratches, cuts and bruises whenever she would get hit by something but she was so pumped up from adrenaline she didn't even feel it, ruby made the mistake of looking back and saw those eyes, those curses demon eyes looking straight at her soul*

*Ruby stumbled to the ground thanks to a root on the ground, ruby fell down hill down and crash broke a frozen river, ruby got up for air her body slowly losing more and more energy giving ruby was freezing to death in the now unfrozen lake*

Qrow:Jake the kid!!

Jake: I'll get to her later, we've got bigger problems!!

*Jake spat out as he shot his mini gun at the great beast that speed wasn't slowing. Ruby managed to get herself out of the freezing water into a large slap of ice strong enough to hold her malnourished weight, she holds herself trying to keep as much warmth as possible from escaping her body. Her trembling body slowly losing consciousness as he vision got more and more blurry*

Real world

*The room froze as all the air escaped it. Everyone was looking at what happens in pins and needles. The second port tried to touch Ruby's hat, he had defense's tip on his chin with the hammer already clicked back*

Ruby; yeah...

*With her free hand ruby removed the hat putting back at the top of her head as she looked at a frowning port*

Ruby:i don't remember ordering a wake up call

Port:young lady this is a classroom how dare you pull a gun on a teacher?!

Ruby: oh I dare plenty,

*Ruby said putting her gun back in its holders*

Ruby:also if this is a classroom how come you've only be talking about yourself and your missions? We get it your a hunter good for you but if your not gonna teach us anything actually important why the fuck should I listen do you?

*The room got even more tense as ruby and port got in to a staring match. Port frown turned in to a booming laugh*

Port:my, I see grand things for your future miss rose so feisty I like it!

*The room took a breath they all knew the others were holding while ruby just looked confused, here she was all ready to make a example of this man and he defused the situation like nothing happened. it didn't sit well with ruby, not well at all*

Port:now come down with me child as your the second person I've decided to pick

*Port walked down, ruby yawned and got up with a shrug she walked down passing yang who flinched the second ruby walked passed her*

Yang"god those scales..."

*Yang thought as the guilt ate her up a little more, she felt the hand of Blake on her leg to keep her calm*

Ruby:so what's this test? Better be worth waking me up I was having such a lovely little dream

*Ruby said the sarcasm thick in her tone. Weiss coughed to get her attention*

Weiss: professor port choose us to show the difference between a good hunter and a bat one, hint I'm the good one

Ruby:blood money

*Weiss frowned that simply word making her remember what ruby said before class and was a bit like a slap to the face as ruby walked to the middle of the room with Weiss next to her*

Ruby;then let's get this over with, what's the challenge to we have to fight each other? Since she would need her whole team to take someone of my level on to have a chance of victory

*Unlike Weiss when people heard ruby spoke there wasn't arrogance, just confidence in herself and her abilities. Before Weiss could be well Weiss port coughed to kill the conversation dead*

Port:no no, nothing like that, That's professor Glynda's class. What you two will be doing Is face against a horrific for that has taken the life of so many

*Port pressed a button and a small door opened on the floor, a cage lifted from the square hole and what was in front of them made Ruby's eye to twitch*

*Ruby looked at professor port with an annoyed look on her face and she started walking back to her seat*

Port:miss rose where are you going?

Ruby:you woke me up for something so pathetically weak as a boarbatusk? Next time make sure the beast is at least a challenge, anybody who dies because of Grimm like this deserved what they got

Port:miss rose! I will not tolerate you making fun of the dead!

*Port said in a firm tone, ruby rolled her eyes, she played with her belt and took it off letting it fall on the ground. The belt held Ruby's twin revolvers as she walked back in front without them*

Ruby:please what does the dead care about that? They're dead, gone forever and never coming back thank God.

*Ruby said no one knew she was talking about Jake, port crossed his arms in a disapproving manner*

Ruby:But fine I'll play along and show you just how pathetic the people who died by this category of Grimm are, let it free

Port:very well miss rose but ti suggest you pick up your weapons

Ruby;and I suggest you don't tell me what to do, didn't end well with the last person that did. Schnee sit this one out I'm going first

*Port sighed and nodded at Weiss who scoffed and walked to the waiting area. Ruby looked at the beast crashing against the protective force shield waiting to attack*

Ruby "nothing more then a mindless animal"

*Port touched the released button and instantly the beast went in to attack transforming in to a ball and started spinning at high speed towards ruby*

*Ruby got in to position and waited, closer and closer the beast would get and ruby wouldn't move a muscle. Up in the bleachers yang was worried for her little sister*

Yang:she's being too confident that's gonna get her hurt or worse

*Yang said softly seeing the beast mere seconds from reaching ruby. Back down when the boar was inches from ruby. Ruby attacked slamming her reptile arm at the right spot. The beast stopped spinning as it tried to freed itself and it started screaming in pain as Ruby's hand didn't stop it pierced right behind the white mask at the boar weak spot. Everyone in the room saw the mindless animal die in one of the most painful ways, ruby brought her hand up showing she held parts of the boar brain matter*

Ruby:next time bring me something that can actually fight back. But what do I know right? I'm just the bad example of a hunter

*Ruby threw the brain matter under Port's feet as she walked back to the bleachers and her guns*

Cinder"mh, maybe salem shouldn't kill this one she could be such a useful asset"

*Cinder said her gaze never leaving the younger girl*
