Natalia is lost to the darkness. She is numb unable to feel anything. The only thing she can think is that Nikolai can't save her this time. She doesn't think that she'll ever see her love again. She had felt something tug her in her chest and she looks down and had seen the large red stain spreading. She is rather surprised that she can still think even if she can't feel anything anymore.
Slowly, very slowly she tries to move her fingers and is shocked to actually feel them move. Next she notices a burning feeling in her throat that rivals the feeling in her chest. It's enough to make her open her eyes.
"Hold, Natalia. Sit up slowly, the transformation will take some time to become used to." Sebastian urges her to remain calm. "Nikolai will be pleased, we weren't sure that you would make it."
Natalia turns her look to Sebastian. "Transformation?"
"If I did wrong I will end your life. I didn't choose this life and now I forced you to take it." Nikolai says from the doorway. "I had just moments to make my decision and I couldn't lose you, not so early."
"What happened?" Natalia says looking from Sebastian to Nikolai.
"The damn hunters decided to kill the humans instead of the Prince and the King of vampires." Nikolai says and to Natalia at least the fury although well controlled is very much there. She notices that Sebastian seems to shrink back from Nikolai as well.
"Hunters?" Natalia puts a hand up to her head as a headache assails her.
"Vampire hunters. I have the leader that killed you and Samantha waiting for you. If I remember correctly you must be near mad for blood about now. Let's get you fed before I answer any further questions." Nikolai replies going to his wife.
"Return to Samantha. If she's going to wake she'll likely wake soon. Take her to be fed when she rises. I will talk to her about her new status then."
"As you wish my prince." Sebastian bows to both and leaves the room as rapidly as he dares.
"Feed?" Natalia finds herself fixated on that word. The burning in her throat now screaming at her to satisfy.
"Yes, my love. Take my hand and I will take you to your dinner." Nikolai offers her his hand and she slowly takes his hand.
Natalia passes a mirror and pauses. "What the hell?"
Nikolai smiles, "You were always beautiful, my love, now you are naturally stunning. Are you pleased or displeased?"
Natalia looks at Nikolai flabbergasted, "This is something I could live with."
"We will talk further after you eat, come love." Nikolai leads her down the stairs and to the room he had the leaders sent to.
"Do you know why they shot Samantha and myself?" Natalia demands, she hadn't been ready to turn. Yet strangely all she feels is anger towards the hunters.
"Alexandria's coven had hired them to do so. They had the chance to take out the prince and king out, instead they take out the humans."
"What are you going to do?" Natalia has no doubt that Nikolai has something planned in retaliation.
Nikolai smiles, "I will tell you after you sate your thirst."
Nikolai opens the locked door where the hunters still waited after he left them. Natalia no more than smells them then her eyes change and she looks at the men before her.
"Kneel before your Princess." Nikolai demands and the men are helpless to do aught else.
Natalia goes before the man, the leader of the Hunter family. "His blood smells enticing."
"Hunter blood is a delicacy among vampires. I am pleased to offer him as your first meal." Nikolai says as Natalia runs her fingers over the man's face. The man stares at her entranced.
"Come," Natalia orders and the man stands up and follows her to the sofa. She carefully sits herself and has the man kneel in front of her.
"Your teeth will descend down as you think about feeding." Nikolai says standing behind her.
Faster than the man could follow Natalia leaned forward and bites down. Feeding deeply the burning in her throat eased.
"Slowly, love. You take it too fast and it will make you sick." Nikolai urges her to slow down and she forces herself to do so.
Soon she notices the heartbeat slowing. She pulls back and the man falls down. "You have a choice love, he can die or you can seal the wound and give some of your blood to heal him."
Nikolai knows what the human Natalia would choose, he's not sure what the vampire one would do. He watches with great interest as Natalia makes her choice. She seals the wound and gives him of her blood. Nikolai smiles, she's going to take him for more than one feeding.
"Are you still hungry, love?" Nikolai is willing to have another hunter come to her.
"No, at this time, the burning is gone and I feel full." Natalia says and stands up. She turns her back to the other humans in the room and goes to Nikolai.
Nikolai gives her a kiss full of his hunger for her which she is willing more than willing to return the kiss. "What would you like to do now? I can give you information or-" He never got the chance to offer up his other choice as Natalia grabs his arm and returns to the room she woke up in.
Once they are done, "That was even better than the first time we were together." Natalia smiles as Nikolai helps her dress.
Nikolai smiles smugly, "Thank you love, I have to say that you've improved as well. If we didn't have other things to deal with right now then I'd suggest staying here."
Natalia looks at him with confusion evident. "What other things do we have to do?"
"It is time for you to be presented as their queen and I as their king." Nikolai says kissing her neck, finding her nearly impossible to resist now.
Natalia moves away from him and turns to him. "What do you mean?"
Nikolai sighs in disappointment. "Father has told me that once you awaken that he will be stepping down as the king. I will be raised as king and you will take your place as queen."
Natalia looks at him and raises her eyebrow up as she looks at him.
"It is time to talk," Nikolai sighs. He pulls her over to the couch that is in the room and makes sure that she is comfortable.
"First of all..." Nikolai says and starts explaining what it means to be a vampire now. He is very impressed at how well she is able to control herself.
"What about our child?" Natalia says once he finishes.
"It is now fully vampire and will need blood to survive from the beginning."
"So I won't be able to raise the child?" Natalia sees in her mind a child that grows at an accelerated rate.
"No, the child will age as if it were human at first. It will be only once they reach the critical age that they will slow down. The critical stage is different for each child but usually around sixteen to eighteen years of age."
By now Natalia is feeling more than a little overwhelmed and just holds up her hand to stop Nikolai from speaking. As time allows the information to seep into her understanding the silence becomes heavy.
"Queen? I don't even have a clue about being a princess now I'm supposed to be their queen?"
"It will come naturally to you. Even how you dealt with others already shows that. That hunter proves that." Nikolai purrs happily.
Natalia looks at him, "You are happy with me?"
"Very love. Your presence is almost as domineering as mine is when I let it loose. It shouldn't be since you are a baby vamp."
"What does that mean?"
Nikolai goes up to her and holds her to him, "It means I am coming through from the blood exchanges we've had before."
"That is good?" Natalia asks hesitantly.
"Very. Perhaps you aren't as strong as me, but you very nearly are. You will only become stronger as you get older."
"Will I become stronger than you like you did your father?" Natalia doesn't expect to care about the answer.
"No, I will continue to grow as will you. Had the time between vampire birth between us been as little as it is between my father and myself it would be possible. But between us no, there is no way for you to gain that much power right now."
