Chapter 20: Spellbound
It had been two weeks since Julie met her dark-haired boy in the Forbidden Forest. She and him were now communicating by placing messages behind the statue in the Entrance Hall. They'd decided to stay in touch and get to know each other more in secret. They'd met at the Forbidden Forest three times, and the second time, he had kissed her.
To keep things secret, Julie stayed very close with her friends, Remus most of all. At the beginning of the week Julie still found him interesting as more than a friend, but the more she got close to her Slytherin friend, the more she started to like him instead of Remus. However, Remus and Julie hung out a lot. They would go to Hogsmeade to have a Butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks together when Lily warned Julie that Remus might like her.
"Lily, he and I are just friends. We work together on Charms projects. I don't like him like that anyway." She'd answered, before she met up with Remus.
When they sat down at the Three Broomsticks they talked about all kinds of things until a bunch of Slytherin boys came in. Montague and Malfoy walked at the front, and they walked up to a third-year Hufflepuff.
"Hello, Mudblood. Mind if we join?" Montague sneered, and the Hufflepuff started crying. Montague chuckled and Malfoy grinned. "Aren't your parents disgusted by your magic? They probably find you terrible." He continued.
Remus shook his head. "I don't understand them. They just hate Muggles for what they are." He said to Julie.
Julie nodded slowly. "I know. So Remus, what are you up to? What have Messieurs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs been doing?"
-"Well, I can't tell you." Remus said.
"Please?" Remus looked at her. He nodded slowly and got up. Julie followed him out of the Three Broomsticks.
They walked for a bit before Julie asked him again. "How do I know we can trust you?" He said.
-"Because it's me?" Julie suggested.
Remus looked at her for a moment again. "Juliette," Julie raised a brow at his use of her full name, "you are absolutely dazzling." He said, and without a warning he kissed her. Julie pulled away quickly.
-"Remus! Wha- wh- why did you do that?" Remus had turned bright red and brought his hand to his face.
"I am SO sorry. I thought you might- I don't know. I-"
-"Remus, breathe, I-it's okay. But I-err..." Julie paused. "Remus, can I tell you a secret?"
Remus nodded. Julie pulled his arm and they walked to the edge of Hogsmeade so no one would be able to hear them before she told him. "I'm seeing someone." She said.
Remus raised a brow. "That's it?"
-"Well, it's more complicated. He's not really allowed to be with me. More like, I would be disowned if anyone knew."
"Does Olive know?" Julie shook her head. "I'm the first to know?" Julie nodded. "Who is it?"
-"Regulus."
"Black? Sirius' younger brother?" Remus inquired. Julie nodded and looked at Remus, waiting for him to get mad. "Your secret is safe with me. Will you keep it a secret that I, well, kissed you?" Julie nodded.
-"You're a great friend, Remus." Julie said, and Remus fake grabbed his heart and exclaimed. "Oh sod o-"
"Oh my god! It's Moony and Julie!" Olive had approached and yelled. "Are you guys together now?"
Julie looked at Remus. Remus nodded. "I did it!" He said, and before Julie could say anything, he whispered, "This is the way to keep you and Regulus a secret."
Olive squealed. "Oh my god, Padfoot is going to love this!" She ran off again.
Julie turned to Remus. "Why did you say that?"
-"Because I love you."
Julie stood there for a moment, staring at him. "But I'm with Regulus..."
-"I know, so I'm trying to help you keep that secret until you're ready to share it with us."
Julie nodded and hugged Remus, and when she moved back from the hug she gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek. As she did, she heard Olive and Sirius come in.
"My God, Moony, well done! You got Capesby Nr. 2!"
Remus smiled, "Time for you to get Capesby Nr. 1 then." Sirius shook his head.

That night Julie told Regulus about what had happened with Remus.
"I understand." He said, and took Julie's hand. "Now, I want to show you something." They walked further into the Dark Forest and Regulus took out his wand and muttered some words.
Suddenly, there were christmas lights all around them, and Regulus took Julie by her side. They danced for a while, and Julie placed her head on Regulus' shoulder.
"Julie?" Regulus whispered, and she nodded slowly into his shoulder. "Never mind."
-"No, say it!" Julie said.
"Well, I heard about this man who wants to take the Wizarding community out of hiding. He has great ideas and I wanted to know your opinion."
Julie mumbled an 'okay' and Regulus started talking. Julie closed her eyes and felt more at peace than ever.
"So he talks about how us wizards shouldn't live in secret, we deserve better, and my friends from Slytherin are all really supportive of him. And I agree with him too, I mean Muggles are suppressing us. Are you even listening? I think I should get you to bed.." Regulus chuckled, and Julie burrowed her face in his warm robes.
Regulus took Julie back to the castle after having removed the christmas lights. He walked her all the way to the portrait hole of Gryffindor Tower, where he waited for a moment.
Julie smiled at him. "Thanks for everything, Reg." She could see him blush slightly, and she gave him a kiss. She said the password to the portrait and it swung open. She was about to go in when she saw no one was inside, so she turned around. "Would you like to come in?" She whispered, and Regulus nodded.
Julie was glad the Fat Lady didn't complain, and she took Regulus into the common room.
"Next time we're going to our common room." Regulus whispered. Julie sat down on the couch in front of the warm fire and nodded.
"What do you think? Cozy here, huh" Regulus nodded.
"But you were really tired, weren't you?" Julie nodded, kissed him, then got up and walked towards the girls' staircase.
Regulus walked towards her to give her another kiss, then turned around and Julie saw him leave through the portrait hole.
Julie couldn't stop smiling as she dropped herself onto her bed.

The next morning Julie sat at breakfast trying to do the last bits of her Charms homework. Remus dropped himself next to her, the other boys following him closely. Peter gave Julie a small smile, and Julie smiled back.
"So what are you doing with Christmas?" Remus asked, and Julie shrugged.
-"I'm not sure, I might stay at the castle, I don't really want to leave." She said.
Sirius nodded. "Yeah, me too. I always get screamed at by all my relatives for everything I do."

After breakfast Julie walked to her Ancient Runes class. As she couldn't do Divination and Ancient Runes at the same time, she had decided to take Ancient Runes in a lower class, because she saw that was with the Slytherins.
She greeted the professor and sat down at the front of the classroom. As the last people walked in she saw Regulus. He raised a brow at her and walked to the front and sat next to her. Julie's eyes widened and she whispered, "what are you doing? Won't people suspect something?" Regulus shook his head.
"I always sit here. Better question is what are you doing here?"
-"I have to take Ancient Runes in a lower class because I can't take it otherwise. My year has it the same time as Divination."
Regulus shrugged and placed his books on his desk. As he did so, his hand brushed against Julie's, who felt a small jolt in her stomach.

Hey!
Sorry, I am really bad at updating on this one because I want it to be good, but then it's not and in the end I always just postpone it. I have a testweek now, so the next update will take a while again, but if you can't miss my writing, check out my other books! The one I'm currently working on is Arthur: When A Tree Falls. Don't forget to leave a comment and a vote :))
