Episode 9: The Blue Gem Returns
(Meteorite's POV)
"Steven?" I said. He looked over at me.
"Meteorite? Is that you?" He asked.
"Yes." I said. I tilted my head at him, "how could you not see me?"
"It's very dark and you must blend in well." He replied.
"Oh."
I looked around for any escape, again. Still nothing.
"There is no way out of here." I said. Steven looked around too but saw nothing. I sighed.
"Guess we're stuck her together huh."
I ran to one of the walls and put my ear to it. I heard talking like two Gems were in the same cell together.....
"RUBY! SAPPHIRE!" I yelled. The taking stopped. Then,
"Meteorite! Is that you!" It sounded like Ruby.
"YES! ARE YOU OK!" I yelled.
"Yeah, but we can't find a way out!" Replied Ruby
"We'll be fine." I only barely heard Sapphire. Why would Aragonite do this? I asked myself. I looked at the darkness above me.
"Aragonite why are you like this?"
As if my thought summoned her Aragonite appeared in the far corner of my cell. I ran over to her.
"Aragonite—" I stopped. She wasn't wearing her warm look that she usually uses on me. She had a dark glaring look, and that glare is aimed at me.
"Why are you doing this, what have I done to you?" But Aragonite left without saying a word. I sighed. I reached into my Gem and summoned my bubble containing Sodalite's broken Gem. I popped it and the pieces fell into my hands.
"Woah what is that?" Asked Steven leaning in closer to get a better look.
"It's my Gem, my friends Gem but she's gone thanks to Rose Quartz."
Steven looked at it.
"I have healing powers," He said, "I could fix that Gem."
I looked at him.
"It's a little weird but don't worry. She'll be fine in there."
He held out his hand and gestured for me to put Sodalite's Gem into it. I placed the Gem into his hand and made sure they fit together, like a puzzle, at the crack. With the other hand, Steven covered his mouth and did something with it. He then slapped his hand down on top of the Gem. As I watched, Sodalite's Gem glowed and raised up into the air. The bright outline of her form appeared and it took shape into Sodalite. Her hair spilled out down her shoulders and ended neared her legs. The light faded and I heard breathing. Sodalite's back. My friend is back! I ran over to Sodalite and wrapped my arms around her chest in a hug. She jumped and turned.
"Meteorite...?" She said.
"SODALITE!" I yelled. Tears came flooding out of my eyes as each moment I held Sodalite, the more real she felt. I looked up into her cool sky-blue eyes.
"It is me Sodalite. I've had your gem and kept it safe for all this time." I said. She wrapped her hands around me and stroked my hair. I loved it when she did that.
"Meteorite I— thank you." She said. I felt like I could have stayed this way forever. After a while I let go and Sodalite stepped back.
"Where are we?" She asked, looking around. I looked at her, deciding what to say.
"Uh. We are kind of in a sandstone cell. No way out." I said.
"Okay how did you get in here then?" She asked. I froze. There was no way out of that question. She isn't going to like this. I thought.
"I was put in here by Aragonite. She— well she found out that Steven there," I said gesturing to Steven, "has Rose Quartz's powers."
He smiled nervously.
"So?" Said Sodalite, "why is that a problem for Aragonite?"
"Ummm. Rose kind of poofed you. In the war."
"Oh! Alright. So how do we get out of here then?" Said Sodalite changing the subject. I heard something in the far corner of the room.
"Hide!" I said to Sodalite. She ran and slid under the bed. I turned to Aragonite. Beads of sweat ran down my face as she looked at me. I hope she doesn't find Sodalite. I thought, it wouldn't end well.
(Sodalite's POV)
I looked at Aragonite from under the bed. She seemed fine to me. I crept out and stayed to the shadows, getting nearer and nearer. I was right behind her when she warped suddenly, though there were no warp pads in sight. The warp was sandy coloured and didn't look completely like a warp. Suddenly the warp disappeared and I saw light. Too much light to be exact. As my eyes adjusted I saw Aragonite walking to a large tower. I leaped behind a smaller tower, hidden from Aragonite's view. I sighed. Looking ahead of me I saw a distant purple Gem, watching me with suspicion. I looked over at Aragonite, making sure she wasn't looking, then ran over to the Gem. She got up and summoned her weapon.
"Woah there. I'm not a threat." I said.
"You look like it to me!" She shot back. I tried to think if the most non-threatening pose. So I just stood there and did nothing.
"Look I—" how am I gonna explain this to her? Without sounding like an idiot.
"My gem was kinda broken but I was healed," I said, "and I escaped the cells."
"Uh huh," Said the other Gem unconvinced, "oh by the way the name's Sugilite."
(Aragonite's POV)
What am I doing!? Why did I just trap my friends!? I looked down at the gem in my hands. It glowed a soft pale yellow and felt warm in my palms. I tried to push down the sorrow inside me, but it was like the gem stopped me from doing that. I noticed a blue shape make a dash for the nearest dune. As I looked she met with another purple Gem. I reached out with the gem's powers and summoned a bridge to the closest pillar to the two Gems. I looked at them and they started to look familiar. The purple one was Sugilite and the other one was......it can't be!
I dropped the gem and jumped off the pillar. I heard my other friends rising out of the sand behind me. I kept running until i was right behind the blue Gem. I bent my knees and leaped on top of her.
"SODALITE!" I said. I smothered her and she tried to push me off. I sat up and she stood up and looked at me. I got to my feet and looked into her sky-blue eyes. She looked at me then smiled. She suddenly ruffled my hair. I giggled and got into a tumble with her. When we separated I looked behind me, then back at Sodalite.
"How did you come back?" I asked her.
"Steven healed her gem with his 'healing essence'." Said Meteorite putting her arm around my shoulder. I smiled at Steven.
"Thank you." I said he beamed.
"Uh guys where's Sodalite?" Said Sugilite. I looked up she was just here a minute ago. I then noticed a big blue speck in the sky. I knew who that was.
"Kyanite. She's taken Sodalite." I said pointing to the sky at them.
"We have to get her back."
