(Howlite's POV)
I looked up at my friends.
"I didn't know it was you." I said. They both grinned. I grinned back.
Then I noticed another Gem beside the them. She looked cherry red. Her hair was the shape of a cube. Her visors hid her eyes and she stared off onto nothingness.
"Uh. Who is that?" I asked tilting my head toward the Gem.
"Oh that's Garnet," Replied Meteorite , "by the way, why are you here?"
"I'm here to contain this gem so other evil Gems or humans can't get their hands on it." I explained.
"We were here to do the same thing!" Said Aragonite. She ran over to the gem and bubbled it.
"We are done here." She said. She held out her hand to me.
"Get up." She said. I hesitated. Then tentatively grabbed her hand. She pulled me onto my feet and I stumbled a little. Looking into her amber eyes I smiled and walked to the edge of the spire. I leaned over to see how far down it was to the ground. It wasn't too far down if I slid down the spire wall. I stretched my leg out and quickly put myself in a sliding position. I slid down the spire and looking up the others had done the same. I neared the bottom and slowed myself as I descended. I reached the bottom and ran. I looked over my shoulder. Meteorite, Aragonite and Garnet were following me. I ran all the way across the open field and through the forest right up to the warp pad. I went to warp when Aragonite came up to me.
"Wait! Don't go!" She said, "come with us instead. There is enough room in the temple for you. Right?"
"There is plenty of room if you want to stay." Said Garnet. I hesitated. Although I wanted to get back and sort things out with my roommate, I also wanted to be with my best friends. I glanced at the pad then at them. What should I choose? I was under so much pressure. What do I want to do?

(Aragonite's POV)
I looked expectantly at Howlite. He looked a little under pressure and he looked at the pad and back.
"Don't worry," I said, "you can think about it. Ok?"
"Ok. Thanks." He said. I stepped off the warp pad. He warped away and I had the sudden urge to follow him. I stopped myself before I could and stepped onto the warp pad. Without noticing it I warped without the others.
I opened my eyes to see a large dark room filled with trash. Looks like Amethyst's room. The only way out of this room was a large wooden door at the far wall. I ran to the door and put my ear to it.
"So you don't have the gem?" Asked a strange voice.
"No but my friends have it," replied a familiar voice, "they will keep it safe and contained."
Howlite! I thought, that's why he hesitated when we suggested that he should come with us! He has another friend!
"Well these friends of yours better keep it. I don't trust them as much as you do."
I heard footsteps coming toward the door. I quickly stepped to the right, turned to face the warp pad and flattened myself, (not literally), against the wall. The door swung open and a purple Gem came through. Turning around to close it, I started to sweat, my body heating up with fear of getting caught. I closed my eyes and braced myself for the surprise of the Gem. I heard the door close. Then everything went silent.
"Who is this!?" Said the Gem, breaking the silence. Howlite came running into the room.
"Aragonite! You followed me." He said.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" I said covering my face with my arms.
"Huh. This kid's pathetic," said the purple Gem, "wait a minute. Did you say her name was Aragonite!?"
"Yes why?" Asked Howlite.
"She's a Gem! Huh. Even more pathetic."
I growled under my breath. I summoned my blades and pointed one of them at the purple Gem's face.
"Hey!" I said, "if you want to see who's pathetic, why don't we fight."
"Why not?" Said the Gem pushing away some garbage to make room. She didn't even summon her weapon. Now who's pathetic? Well maybe she's defective.
"By the way," I said, "What's your name?"
"What does it matter to you?" Asked the Gem rudely, "but if you really want to know, it's Sugilite."
Sugilite. I've heard that name before. But from where. Sugilite ran toward me to land a punch but I ducked out of the way, slashing my blade on her side. Sugilite winced a little clutching her side.
"Not bad," she said, "for a amateur."
I growled and I had the feeling again.
"NO! STOP!" I yelled at myself. I was too late. I looked down at myself and sighed. I was a dragon again. I glared at Sugilite. She didn't flinch under my harsh gaze, only glared back. I stepped toward the warp pad, stopped to growl loudly at Sugilite, then warped back to my room.
I looked around my room and breathed in the fresh scent of fruits. I ran across the bridge to the main island. It was a beautiful mesa, with blossoming shrubs here and there. On one side a large mountain made of clay towered over her.
"Hey Aragonite!"
I turned to see Steven running toward me.
"Hey Steven want to see me fight the Gem monster?" I asked him.
"Sure!" He replied. He ran over to the nearest tree and sat underneath it. I summoned my bubble with the corrupt Peridot Gem in it and popped it. The Gem fell to the ground then glowed reforming. Once it had reformed, I summoned my weapon and ran toward it. It swung a massive paw at me but I ducked out of the way and slashed at it's hind leg. It howled in pain and lashed it's tail. I went to move out of the way but I was too slow. The tail hit me in the head and sent me crashing into the mountainside.
"NO!" I heard Steven yell. I went to get up but I couldn't. Suddenly pink light appeared and I looked up. The monster had went to finish me off but Steven ran in front before it could. Instead it was slamming its massive paws on a bright pink shield.
"Hurry Aragonite. I can't hold it off forever!" I ran out and stabbed the beast in the head with my blade. It screamed as it disappeared in a puff of cloud. I fell and hit the sand. Then I turned to Steven.
"I never knew you had powers," I said, "what Gem are you?"
"I don't know but the other Gems say I inherited my powers from my mother." He replied.
"Who was you mother?" I asked.
"My mother was Rose Quartz."
It hit me like the blow from the corrupt Gem. I took a step back from him. His mother is my nemesis!? How come I never knew!? I turned and ran, rage engulfing me. I ran down to collect something then I warped to the desert. They've left me in the dark for too long! Now they can feel how I do!
