Episode 15: Secrets
(Aragonite's POV)
I stared at the Gems frozen in place. The vines that had wrapped around me held me in the air. Then the green Gem spoke,
"Who are you?"
I couldn't speak. I couldn't move. I just stayed frozen in place. The green Gem looked at me gently. She then smacked herself in the head and put me down. The vines unraveled themselves and retreated back into the forest. I looked at the green Gem. She looked at me.
"Who are you?" She asked me again. I looked at the other Gems. The yellow one had a gentle expression, the orange one looked concerned and the blue one looked like she wanted to start a fight. She held two shimmering blue swords. I took a step back.
"It's ok, no one's gonna hurt you," the green Gem said looking behind her, "Cat put your damn swords away!"
The blue Gem shrugged and dematerialised her swords. I looked warily at the other Gems. Then sighed.
"My name is Aragonite," I say, "I am a Crystal Gem."
"Wow." Said the green Gem, "well I'm Tourmaline. This is Citrine, Amber and Cat's Eye."
She pointed to each as she said their names. I smiled. Citrine walked up to me.
"Nice to meet you, Aragonite." She said gently. I look around for Amber. Then I feel a slap on the back. I jump.
"Hey there." I heard someone say. I turn around sharply to see Amber right behind me. She laughs.
"You're funny." She chuckles. I smile. I look around for Cat but I can't see her. Where did she go? I think to myself. One of my cat ears suddenly flicks up hearing something in the direction of the forest. Shit! No! I turn to see Citrine and Amber looking at me with surprised expressions.
"It's a long story." I say to them. Citrine beckons for me to follow her. I followed her away from the others and into the forest. When we were by a cliff, way out of earshot of the others, Citrine sat down and I sat down next to her.
"You know," she began, "I've wanted to share something with them but I only wanted to share it with Tourmaline."
"So why don't you?" I ask her.
"Well she's always with someone else or I can't find her at all," she explained, "so what I want to say, I'll say it to you."
I edged a little closer to Citrine, listening in. Citrine took off her visors to wipe them clean with a nearby leaf. Then she places them beside her and stares off into the horizon.
"Hello?" I say.
"Hi." She replies. I wave my hand in front of her face. There was surprisingly no response from her. Her eyes had an icy glaze to them. She doesn't respond when I step over her legs to get to the other side of her.
"I know what you're trying to do." She said. She looked at me. Not directly, but close enough. I wave my hand. She smiles.
"I can't see you," she said, "or anything really."
I looked at her, unable to speak. I knew what she was going to say next.
"Aragonite, I'm blind."
(Meteorite's POV)
I wait on the sky arena ruins for Aragonite. I've waited for hours but she never showed up. I decide to go look for her. I warp back to the beach and start looking. I looked through Beach City, in the Temple, in her room and at the desert. No sign of her. I walked back along the beach when I heard a loud clanking in the cave nearby. I went to go check it out.
"She must be here.....it definitely was her.....no one else smells of blood." I heard a voice say. I creep slowly toward a pile of rubble and hid behind it. I peeked out and saw a Gem rummaging through the trash looking for something. She looked a bit like Aragonite, with the cat ears. She was yellow and she had a gem on her forehead. A long plat ran from her head almost touching her feet. She was definitely looking for something.
"Hey." I say, stepping out from behind my hiding spot. The Gem jumped and spun around summoning her weapons, duel spears. She stepped threateningly toward me.
"Who are you?" She asked me. I step back.
"Meteorite." I say with a small grin. The Gem takes a step back, dematerialising her spears. I then I step toward her.
"Now I'm the one to say it," I say with a cheeky grin, "who are you?"
"I am Cat's Eye Chrysoberyl, leader of the Citrine facet and personal hunter of Magenta Diamond." She said proudly.
I gasped a little.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her looking around.
Cat raised one brow.
"None of your business!" She hissed. Then she looked away.
"I am here looking for a traitor." She said looking back at me. I froze.
"What. I'm not looking for you, if that's what your worrying about." She chuckled. It was weird to see her change emotions quickly. One minute she was hostile, the next minute she was laughing. It was weird.
"Can I help?" I ask.
"Sure."
(Aragonite's POV)
"How!?" I ask Citrine, "how is this possible!? You're Blind!?"
She shrugged.
"I dunno really," she said, "but Tourmaline helped me around when I arrived on Magenta's planet."
"Thats so nice." I say.
"Yeah, I had a Pearl too, but no one knows what happened to her." Citrine said looking to the ground.
"Wait you had a Pearl!?" I say astonished.
"Yeah, every Citrine has one," she said, "Each Citrine has their own room, so they have a Pearl so they don't get lonely. It's been like that since the incident."
"What incident?" I ask curiously
"Oh never mind," she said quickly, "it's nothing much."
I knew I would not get anywhere trying to get her to tell me.
"Shall we get back to the others?" I ask.
"Yeah." She replied getting up. As we walked through the forest, I knew there was something up with Citrine.
Who was her Pearl? What happened to her? What is the incident about?
