Chapter Four
Jensen
Jensen knocked on Jack's door, it was about time that he told his son the whole story but how would he do that if Jack wouldn't listen to him? Jensen listened in at the door when he heard not only Jack's voice but also a strange voice that he had never heard of before. It came from the holographic watch that Jack had. Someone in the government was trying to convince him to listen to them. His stomach twisted and turned. He spent years keep Jack safe and even giving him a different alias. So then how did the government find him?
"Stolen?" Jack's voice said into the room.
Shit. Jensen thought.
Instantly he knocked on the door and everything went silent. Footsteps made their way over as Jack pulled the door open. He stood there staring at him with a dead look in his face.
"We need to talk son," Jensen said.
"I'm not your son," Jack responded. "You have some explaining to do!"
Jensen sighed and urged Jack to step out of the room.
"Come with me," Jensen ordered.
"Don't tell me what to do!" Jack yelled.
Jensen remained stone cold calm. Without hesitating, he grabbed Jack by the arm and dragged him from the room. They walked down to the basement of the house where Jack constantly struggled to break free.
They arrived at the elevator which just so happened to be in the same house. Jensen pressed a button summoning the elevator to get up to the top floor. Jack didn't say anything, Jensen assumed it was the fear about saying the wrong thing. Shaking his head, Jensen and Jack stepped into the elevator. The basement floor selected, Jensen and Jack arrived at the basement.
With a ding, the elevator doors opened, together, the two-set foot inside the lab. A lab that Jensen kept hidden away from his adopted son.
"Where are we?" Jack asked.
"The Laboratory," Jensen responded. "I know that it seems suspicious, but I need you to understand that what I did for you is to keep you safe,"

Mark
"So glad that you are home sweetie," Mark's mother said. "There are things that we need to discuss with you,"
Mark stiffened. What was he going to say? Better yet what were his parents going to say. He was the son of a German American military officer and a Korean mother. He got more of his mother's eyes than his father. Slowly, but surely, Mark made his way over to the table and took a seat in the middle.
"Mother? Father?" Mark asked. "What's going on?"
"We heard that you were spending time with Jensen's kid," His father, Cliff asked.
Mark shrugged. Not sure where this was going.
"What's wrong with that?" Mark questioned.
"We want to know if he's acted rather strangely?" Sunok questioned.
Mark paused. Unsure if he should even mention the different things he saw throughout the day. A larger guy entered the room, he was huge and lean and wore a dark suit. The man alone gave him goosebumps. Something about the guy really screamed I want to kill you!
"No not that I know of..." Mark responded. "Why does it matter?"
"Because" Cliff said. "I don't know if you've heard of Ro-Corp, we work for them soon you will too but our boss has told us that in order for you to join, you will have to capture the runaway."
Jack
I looked around the lab. It was massive and I couldn't help but notice all the machines. Then it hit me. How could Jensen hide all this from him? As a matter of fact, how did he end up in Jensen's hands in the first place. In front of him he saw a large tube. Chords were attached to a computer that sat on the table next to it. It felt like something out of a science fiction movie or even Frankenstein.
"How could you keep something this big from me?" I demanded. "What else have you been hiding Jensen?!"
"Calm down," Jensen responded holding his hands up. "I kept all this from you for a reason."
"Then give me a reason!" I yelled.
"Years ago, I followed a group of people from Ro-Corp," Jensen explained. "Ro-Corp kidnapped children at a young age so they could create a bionic army," he continued. "I was part of a group of resistance fighters who stormed the laboratory in La Roya to destroy all evidence and rescue any kids. Unfortunately, there were a few things I couldn't do."
I paused; Jensen really looked like he was upset as if something hadn't gone right during the invasion. I began thinking back to what I experienced. It was all numb at this point, but At least I could think back to what had happened.
I sat in the back of a dark van. Three other children were sitting in the back with me. Had there been more? I couldn't remember. It was so dark; all I thought about was home. I wanted my bed, I wanted to be with my family however, something told me that it wasn't going to happen. That wherever the van stopped was where I was going to be the rest of my life. I sat still; knees close to my chest arms wrapped around it. Dried tears streaked my face. Where was I? What did I do?
The van came to a complete stop most of us children stumbled forward while others remained against the wall. I heard the driver door open and slam shut. The passenger door followed footsteps on the gravel made me look up. My heart pounding. The back doors opened; a stream of bright sunlight hit me in the eyes.
"Come on," a man dressed in black dragged me and the other children out. "Don't say anything and don't you dare disobey. If you do, then you will regret it."
Not willing to take any chances, I complied as did one other person. However, one prisoner didn't obey. She broke free and took off toward the forest. Suddenly, a loud BANG hit causing me to flinch. The redheaded girl collapsed, unmoving. I feared for my own life as I was taken into a large building. We were in the middle of nowhere so I couldn't even figure out what they were going to do to me. The next thing I knew I was dragged inside and strapped against a table.
"Please!" I begged not willing to take a chance at dying. "Please don't kill me!"
The scientist grabbed a large needle and pushed it up so it would push out the liquid. The liquid I saw seemed to have some sort of electronic flashing in it.
"Don't worry it won't be long now..." The man said and pressed the needle into my arm.
I flinched and suddenly began to feel dizzy. I didn't know what was going on as the next thing I knew a stranger had broken into the lab it was a deep voice, and it had told me to sleep. I saw in my blurred vision a man with sandy blonde hair and green eyes had somehow killed the scientist that had been working on me.
"Jack?" Jensen said. Forcing me to snap out of my thoughts.
"What?" I responded.
"Are you okay?" Jensen questioned "And do you understand what I'm telling you?"
I nodded. "But why did you bring me to the basement?"
"Because it's time for you to train." Jensen explained.
