Chapter 3

Aurora's POV

We walked to Flourish and Blotts. "Isn't it thrilling! Gilderoy Lockhart's going to be there! We can actually meet him! I mean, he's written almost the whole booklist!" Hermione said in excitement. I rolled my eyes.

"Please, who could like such a narcissistic idiot?" I said. Harry laughed a little and I felt blood rush to my face. I looked at Ginny and Hermione, who were looking at me and Harry and giggling like little school girls. I glared at them before we walked into Flourish and Blotts.

"There he is!" And there he was. The idiot.

"Mum fancies him." Molly jabs Ron in the arm and I giggle. Then someone pushed past me and Ginny.

"Out of the way little girls! This is for The Daily Prophet!" I growled at the man and Lockhart looked at us. His eyes widened.

"It can't be... Harry Potter?" Everyone looked at us and the photographer grabbed Harry by the arm and pulled him next to Lockhart. I cringed at how uncomfortable Harry looked. Then someone grabbed my arm and pulled me from the crowd. I looked at my kidnapper and realized it was my old friend, Ana Snape. She has black to teal ombre hair and pale skin. She wasn't at the sorting last year because Prof. Snape didn't want everyone knowing that he had a daughter, but I knew her from when I was younger. We hugged each other. It's kinda tabu for a Slytherin and a Gryffindor to be seen together, so I'm glad I'm not wearing my uniform.

"How are you?" Ana asked. "I never got a chance to talk to you last year."

"I'm good. You?" She shrugged.

"I've been better."

"Your dad been working you to the bone?"

"Naturally. It's what dads do."

"Yeah..." She gave me a pitiful look. There was a flash of light and we turned to she the cameraman taking pictures of Harry and Lockhart.

"I can't believe that idiot is going to be our teacher. My father said it was pure luck that he got into Hogwarts as a child." I giggled.

"I bet."

"Ladies and gentlemen! What an extraordinary moment this is!" We turned to Lockhart to hear his speech. "When young Harry here stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography, Magical Me - which, incidentally is celebrating its twenty-seventh week atop The Daily Prophet's Bestseller List -" We looked at each other and rolled our eyes. "he had no idea that he would, in fact, be leaving with my entire collected works! Free of charge!" We shook our heads.

"The man's an idiot." Ana said.

"I know." Harry, now holding a tower of books, walks over to Ginny and places them in her cauldron. I couldn't help but smile at Harry. He is to kind for his own good.

"So..." I turned to Ana and looked at her with confusion.

"What?"

"Are you and Harry a thing?" I started blushing profusely.

"Ana!" She started laughing.

"Bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter?" Me and Ana looked at each other before walking to the others to see them with Draco. "Famous Harry Potter. Can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page."

"Draco, leave him alone." I said. Draco looked at me and smirk, and I swear I saw Harry glaring at him. (IS THIS WHAT YOU WANTED WHEN YOU ASKED FOR HARRORA!? HUH!?)

"Well, if it isn't the pretty one. Nice to see you again Aurora." I was about to gag when he looked at Ana. "Who's your friend? I didn't know Slytherins were talking to Gryffindors now."

"That's her business, Draco, not yours." Harry said. I swear Hermione and Ginny were going to start squealing. Draco was about to say something when someone interrupted him.

"Silence, Draco! Ah... Mr. Potter. I don't believe we've met." Mr. Malfoy used his cane to move Harry's bangs, revealing his scar. "Forgive me, Mr. Potter. But your scar is legend. As, of course, is the wizard who gave it to you."

"He was a murderer."

"Yes, a pity about your parents. Curious that you yourself should escape with a mere flesh wound. Curious, too, that you speak of him in the past. Surely, you don't think He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is gone forever."

"His name is Voldemort." Most people, except for me, gasped. Even Ana looked fearful.

"You must be very brave, Mr. Potter, to dare speak his name. Or foolish."

"Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself." Lucius' eyes slide to Hermione.

"You must be Miss Granger. Draco's told me all about you... and your parents. Muggles, aren't you?" Hermione's parents nodded nervously. Lucius' eyes then slid to me. "Aurora I presume?" I nodded. "You look exactly like your mother." I stepped forward to say something, but Ana grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"Aurora, don't. We can't make a scene. Not here." I glared at Lucius. Any man with the same name as the devil is the devil himself. Arthur walked over to us.

"Children, it's mad in here. Let's go outside."

"Well, well, well - Arthur Weasley."

"Lucius."

"Busy time at the Ministry. All those raids. I hope they're paying you overtime." Malfoy reaches into Ginny's cauldron, removes a very old, battered copy of A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration. "Obviously not. Dear me. What's the use of being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it."

"We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of wizard, Lucius." Lucius looks at the Grangers.

"Clearly. The company you keep, Weasley. And I thought your family could sink no lower." I moved to hit Lucius, but Hagrid pulled me back.

"Aurora, no." Lucius tosses Ginny's book back into her cauldron.

"Here, girl. Take your book. It's the best your father can give you." Bitch, I will destroy you. Pardon my language. Lucius and Draco leaves, after Draco winked at me. Hagrid turned to us.

"No Malfoy's worth listenin' ter. Rotten ter the core, the whole family..." The others walked out with Hagrid and I turned to Ana.

"Hagrid's right. Don't listen to Lucius, he's not worth it." I nodded and gave her a hug.

"Aurora, are you coming?" Ginny called out. I looked at Ana.

"See you Ana."

"Bye Aura."
