Edge's POV

We are driving in silence for a couple of hours until we reach the city of Wicklow and Bono stars yelling:

"-Hey Edge look! The sea!!! Where are we going now?"

"-Just be patient"

"-Oh come on now! I'm starving!" He says complaining

"-We are close! Just stop talking! Alright?"

"-Ok! I hope the destination is worth the silence!"

"-It will! I am sure it will!"

Without saying anything else he sits back in his seat and look outside the window and after some minutes I park the car and gently pock him in his arm:

"-We arrived!"

"-What are you talking about? Here is neither any sight of sea nor ice cream! There is only some old houses..."

"-I've told you something before, haven't I?"

"-I've got to be patient!"

"-That's right!" I answer and we get out of the car.

"-Come with me" I tell him and he does as I say while he keeps whispering to himself like is some kind of mantra "I've got to be patient! That's what Edge says so that's what the truth is". It was kind of ridiculous hearing him say such a thing but I don't say anything 'cause I am not sure if he says this just to piss me off or if that's his way to stop complaining. I bet it's the first one but never mind!

"-This way!" I tell him pointing the direction we must go

"-Ok I'm right behind you commander!"

"-Good work soldier!" I say joining his joke

We walk some meters in an alley and then we find some stairs, I am sure we are going in the right way although I haven't come here in more than twenty years but I remember going down  this stairs as if it was yesterday, everything is exactly the same as it was but now I am the leader and not my daddy. After some more stairs we was there!

"-Wow!!!" It's the only thing Bono says. He hugs me from behind and kiss me in my chick before let go of me and stars talking again:

"-How the hell did you find out about this little hidden paradise!"

"-My father used to bring us here once in a while!"

"-Clearly Mr. Evans knew what he did, didn't he?"

"-I guess..." I say making a long pause.

Bono approach me and put his hand on my solder and with his other hand he lift up my chin so he can face my eyes. He look deep into my eyes for a while as I am looking at my own reflection in his dark shades of his sunglasses then he start speaking with a surprisingly soft voice:

"-Hey Dave I know it is difficult but we can do nothing to bring him back! It's resent that's why it hurts so much... You know that I can understand the pain you feel right there" he says and point my chest at the place my heart is and then he continue on talking:

"Your father was a great man, mate, and you have to be proud to be his son as he was proud to be your father, I'm sure he was! You are strong you know that, don't you?" He asks and I nod my head in response.

He takes off his sunglasses and now I can see clearly in his eyes. The color of his eyes is like a reflection of the blue sea right into them. Only staring at them I feel so relived... I sigh and as he notices he says to me:

"-Everything is gonna be all right! I know I was a jerk from the very beginning of this trip and I am really sorry! I didn't mean to piss you off but I probably did and..." I tried to say something but he puts his index finger in front of mouth and says:

"Let me finish I need to tell you that! I've always been a bit self-centered person but I don't want to act like a selfish douche bag! You don't deserve a friend like that and frankly I'm trying not to be that kind of friend! You deserve better than me but because right now I'm the only one you have..." He stops talking for a while to think what to say and then he adds:

"-I need to cheer you up a bit!!! So where is that ice-cream you told me about? I bet it gonna make you feel a bit better!" He exclaims and a smirk appears on his face.

"-Right there!" I tell him and point at an ice cream van down the street

"-Oh! You didn't tell me were going to visit the past! So that's why you love your car so much it's a time machine!!!"

I can't resist but laugh at what he just said and then I take some steps closer to him and wrap my arms around his body and hug him.

"-Hey what I've done right to deserve that hug?" He says while he hug me back

"-Nothing special just being you! It's enough for me!"

"-At a risk sounding a bit melodramatic I have to say that I love you The!"

"-Me too, little bastard! So let's go! I can hear the ice cream begging for our attention!"

We almost got to the van running and as we stop right in front of it Bono turns to me and asks me:

"-So what flavor do prefer dear friend?"

"-That's easy! Chocolate!"

Then he turns to the man in the van:

"-Good afternoon! I want two ice creams. One with vanilla flavor and one with chocolate flavor for my friend!"

"-As you wish young man!" The elderly man respond to him and then he asks Bono:

"- Cone or cup?"

Bono doesn't even ask me about that he knows me way too good to need an answer to this question:

"-Ice cream cone, both of them!"

"-Here you are!" The elderly man says handing the ice creams to Bono and I was ready to pay for them but Bono terns to me saying:

"-Forget paying for these. Just keep them" He almost commands and turns to the man in the van paying for the ice creams.

"Let's go over there!" He says to me pointing a low fence from where we can see the ocean in front of us.

Bono grabs his ice cream and get to the fence first. When I get there too we sat on it facing the sea, licking our ice creams and listening the sound the waves are making every time they hit the rocks on the sore as Bono starts mumbling:

"Every breaking wave on the shore
Tells the next one there'll be one more" Then he stops the mumbling and looks at me as I say whispering:

"And every gambler knows that to win
Is what you're really there for... "

Bono licks once again his ice cream saying to me:

"-It's fuking LOSE! Everyone knows this but you!"

"-Yeah... still doesn't make sense!" I answer and we burst out laughing!
