Edge's POV

I was driving down the road and I had almost arrived at Bono's house when I saw a silhouette in black standing outside the frond of his house. "Don't tell me Brian it's awake and has found out about our trip! That's no good!" I thought to myself but as I got there I saw Bono smiling at me, with his devilish smile the one he has when everything is under control.

I stopped the engine and get out of the car to help Bono out with his luggage but surprisingly he had only taken with him a medium size bag! We put his staff on the back seats with mine and get back inside.

Now I am just driving and we are in a complete silence until I turn to him and start talking:

"-You know this is the first time in years you are ready on time!"

"-Yeah, you see I get better with time just like the wine does! Right?'

"-Whatever! By the way what happened with Brian? Did you tell him?"

"-In fact I didn't..."

'-What!!! Why?"

"-Calm down daddy! I left him a note explaining everything! There is no need to be worried, I know what I'm doing!"

"- I hope so..." I tell him and focus fully on driving

Bono was looking out of the window without speaking at all, I'm sure he has plenty memories from those streets, I have as well, our whole childhood had passed in here... Every shop, every park, every single thing around here is so familiar... Maybe Bono is trying to make some weird connections between those places and his feelings only he will be able to understand until his turns them into words, music, songs...

But which is the best way recalling the past? The answer is definitely music!

"-Hey Bono!" I say to him waking him up from his daydreaming

"-Hmm... What happened?"

"-Nothing special. Just do me a favor!"

"-For you anything!" He says flashing me a big smile

"-I have some CDs in there could you get the one I'll tell you?" I ask him pointing the glove box which was in front of him

"-Which one?" He asks looking through my CDs

"-That one!" I answer him pointing at the one he was holding in his hands

"-Sandinista? What a choice Dave!!!"

"-You know why..."

"-I know! Once a Clash fan always a Clash fan! Right?"

"-Absolutely! What is more I wanted us to remember the good old days!"

"-You always loved Clash so much! Is unbelievable! They inspired and effect you as a guitarist and as a musician in general so faking much!"

"-Is it peculiar? They were definitely so innovative back then. Plus I am not the only one here who The Clash had a serious impact on!"

"-Fair enough, Joe was a really gifted song writer and an even better lyricist. Every song they played was a riot of noise and ideas! Do you remember when we attended their show in Trinity College?"

"-Yeah, the four of us! I still remember we couldn't even sleep after that show!!! It was so amazing!!! I remember myself being so exited!"

"-It was exactly as they said in their song You Know Your Rights, a public service announcement with guitars!!! You could found out what was going on in the world through their songs! It was outstanding the fact that they were trying to tell the world what they believed and what they bothered them and what they wanted to change in our world!"

"-Someone got excited, huh?"

"-You know music is a very important part of my life! The Clash, Ramones, Beatles, Beach Boys and so many other bands shaped my life!"

"-I know we were just fans and wanted one day to be as great as they are and now we are writing our own history!"

He is looking at me and then he is tuning his gaze away saying nothing at all... The melody of the song Straight To Hell Boy is filling the car... What a song I think to myself. Then I hear Bono saying in a slow soft voice:

"-Dave, I feel so blessed to have you, Larry and Adam in my life all these years... U2 is one of the best things that occurred in my life! All these argument we have had, in a creative way, all this fans who yell our names saying we have changed their life is the actual payback for everything bad that may happen to my live..."

"-What was that? Are you sure you're ok?"

"-Better than ever! Thank you for standing by me!"

"-Won't be afraid! Just as long as I stand, stand by you..." I say laughing. He turn off the volume of the music we were listening and he starts singing:

I start singing the chorus with him and now all the problems are left behind us, as our voices combine, covering each other in the unique way they always do:

"What a beautiful start", I am thinking while we still singing! So that's how it is to be on the road without any harry or without any particular destination!
