Chapter 8

Aria

Kate came storming downstairs.

"Aria, can you come out with me?" I nodded immediately. Something's up. I'm sure Alex messed with her. Alex, you are dead.

We went to our garden. Kate had comparatively cooled down after breathing in the fresh air. I broke the silence, "What happened, Kate?"

Silence.

"What happened, Katelyn?"

Her features softened, "You didn't tell about me to Alex?"

I've told all about her, except for-oh that, "No, it I wouldn't tell anyone even for the world, unless you wanted me to."

That earned me a bear hug from Kate. "I love you so much Aria. You're the best friend I could ever ask for."

I smiled. But then I remembered, "Why were you coming down like you were going to kill someone?"

Kate chuckled dryly, "Alex asked me who the rapist was."

Oh.

"You told him?"

"The words rolled out of my mouth before I could think."

"Oh."

That mostly happens when a person likes someone. Did Kate like Alex? Oh my God, both of them would make a perfect couple.

"Do you like him?" I asked.

"Who?"

"Alex."

"I don't know."

What about Alex? Did he like her? Probably not, he loved Olivia. I shook my head and sighed, "It's evening already. You and Rose could stay over tonight."

"What about your mom?" I sighed again, "I don't know."

"You can stay tonight." A new voice told. I craned my neck to see who it was. Kate gasped, "Who is it?"

Logan came out from his hiding place behind the bushes, "It's me. Playing Cupid huh?" He wiggled his eyebrows at me. I giggled at him while Kate turned a light shade of red. She definitely liked Alex.

"Come, let's go inside." Kate rushed in.

"What's the other girl's name?"

Is he talking about Rose? To confirm my suspicions, I voiced my thoughts, "Who, Rose?"

"Yeah." The tip of his ears turned pink. I grinned at him knowingly. Both of us entered the house together.

Lee frowned when he saw us together. "Are we still going?" I asked Alex who was glaring at Ethan as he was beside Kate. Aw, Alex liked her too. Finally, he's moving on from Olivia. Thinking of her brought tears to my eyes.

Olivia had been my best friend since we were in diapers. Lee was too, but Olivia was closer. My dad and Lee's dad were close friends before, so automatically we became best friends. Lee's family transferred to Los Angeles when we were around thirteen, leaving Olivia and me without a best friend. Then, after that incident, Olivia and mom had to leave me too. Dad got married again, and I had to shift here. I blinked continuously to get rid of the tears which started forming in my eyes.

Alex now had his attention on me. "Yes we still are," he replied stiffly.

"I know you are annoyed with Ethan for sitting next to Kate Alex, but control yourself." I smiled cheekily at him. He immediately scowled and Kate blushed while the others laughed.

I ignored his scowl and smiled at Lee. "The guy's been staring at you since ages." Rose whispered in my ear. I nearly jump out of my skin when I hear her voice. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Well that's because he can't believe that I'm the not the same Aria like before."

"Uh-huh, he clearly likes you. What's his name?" My eyes nearly bulged out of its sockets.

Ignoring the butterflies in my stomach, I answered, "Nah, he doesn't. He looks at me like I'm his sister. He's Lee."

"Lee! You mean the Lee Asher?" she whisper-yelled which caused Lee to look at us weirdly.

She knew him? I looked at Rose warily and nodded. "By the way, he likes-sorry loves you. Not as a sister though." She gave me a pointed look and sat next to Lee. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Hello, I'm Rosalind."

Wait, what the fuck did she just blabber? Lee loves me, but not like a sister? She's clearly messing with my brain.

I signaled Rose near after she left Lee, "The cute guy over there is Logan." I pointed in the direction of Logan who was seated beside Alex and was chatting with him.

"I know."

"You know?"

"After talking to Lee, I spoke to him. He's pretty nice."

"And he's got a crush on you." I completed.

"What?" She exclaimed, her eyes wide and face red.

"Yeah, just like Lee 'loves' me, even if that's possible," I stated nonchalantly. "And you like him too." I smiled cheekily noticing the scowl forming on her face to piss her off more. They would look so cute together. I made her sit next to him and winked. Alex called me, "Hey Ar, can you bring all of us lemonade?" I shook my head.

"Please? You make the best lemonade." Alex butters me. I roll my eyes at him, "Sure. I make the best lemonade. Is there any other kind of lemonade?" I ask sarcastically and make my way into the kitchen. As I'm making the lemonade, I hear someone stand behind me.

"Playing Cupid huh?" I can recognize that voice anywhere. I turn to look at him and smile slyly, ignoring the warm feeling in my stomach. Returning back to my work, I ask, "Why?"

I could feel him shaking his head, "Just asking," He opens the cupboard and takes out seven glasses. "We're going on Friday, right?"

"Uh yeah." I look in his direction warily and nod. Today is Wednesday and we're leaving two days later.

"Did you pack for it?"

I look at him raising an eyebrow questioningly. I don't know where this is going, and I don't think I want to know. He raised his hands in surrender, "Just asking." I roll my eyes and pour the lemonade in the glasses. I put the glasses on a tray and go out of the kitchen. All of them chorus a thanks after grabbing a glass each.

I keep the tray inside the cabinet. And wash my hands at the sink.

"So did you pack for it?"

I turn in the direction of the voice and frown, "No I didn't, but can you enlighten me why you are asking?"

Lee shrugs and walks away leaving me confused. I shrug and walk into the living room. Only one seat is empty and that is next to Lee. He smiles like a girl and pats the seat. I roll my eyes at his absurdity and look around at the others as I sit. Lee keeps an arm around my shoulders and whispers in my ear, "Looks like you won."

I glance around until my gaze falls on Rose and Logan and my lips quirk upwards. Rose is chatting animatedly with Logan and he is looking at her in awe, like he can't believe his eyes that Rose is in front of him, making my grin grow.

"They look cute, don't they?" I look at Lee who's is looking at me with so much intensity that I almost fall off my seat. He didn't hear me. I wave my hands in front of his face, but he holds my hands together, pushing them away so that they don't block his vision, which is me. I smack his forehead and ask, "Is there something on my face?"

Blinking adorably, he looks at me with an unreadable emotion in his eyes, "Uh, there's nothing. Sorry, what were you saying?"

I challenge him with my eyes to guess the correct answer.

He scrunches up his face adorably while he thinks, making my lips twitch in amusement. He looks at me through his lashes and smiles sheepishly; causing my insides to melt at his adorableness. I jut my chin in the direction of Rose and Logan and raise an eyebrow.

"Uh, yeah. They look very cute, so adorable that-ouch, that hurts!"

I flick his forehead causing him to stop his girlish squeal.

"Stop it Lee." He looks at me like I'd grown another two heads, "What?! What did I do? I just told that-ow!" He whines, making me roll my eyes after flicking his forehead again.

"Aw look at them, they look so cute!" That was Kate.

I look at the others to find all of them looking at us like we were babies. Well, all except Alex who was mentally killing Lee with a bunch of machine guns, shooting bullets with his eyes.

"Get off my sister, asshole." He growls, making Lee jump ten feet high from his seat. He looks at Alex with wide eyes while Alex is shooting daggers at him.

I roll my eyes.

Lee pouts adorably so that Alex forgives him. Alex does not seem to be affected by his puppy dog eyes unlike us; we are practically melting looking at his adorable face.

I roll my eyes again and speak up to stop the funny scene to make it funnier, "Okay, fine. Stop looking at each other like you are in love with each other. It would gross me out."

This makes everyone laugh, except for Alex who is scowling at Lee and Lee who's scowling at me.

I called Rose, "Um Rose, can we speak?"

"Yeah sure."

Alex's scowl dropped and a devilish grin began to grow, "Don't do the deed, okay sis?"

I immediately scowled at him, "If you're gay that doesn't mean that I am too." I sprinted upstairs without waiting for his reply with Rose in tow.

"I needed you to tell you something." I breathed as soon as she closed the door behind us. She shot me a puzzled look asking me to clarify.

"Uh, you know Kate went to console Alex, right?"

She nodded warily, urging me to continue.

"She told about him."

She widened her eyes when she understood what I was trying to tell her, "You mean she told it? But wasn't she the one who told us not to tell him because-" She coughed before she could continue earning her a puzzled look from me.

"Because what?"

"Um, shelikesAlex."

"What?"

"She. Likes. Alex." She hissed, causing me to widen my eyes.

"You knew?"

"Yeah, she told me. How do you know? I mean, she didn't want me to tell you because you are his sister and it would be awkward if you got to kno-" I clamped he mouth shut with my palm. God, this girl can rant day and night if she opened her mouth.

"I think I get the idea. I found out. You know it's pretty obvious they like each other. But will Kate be able to trust Alex?"

Rose sighed, "I don't know."

"And yeah," I asked as the question popped in my mind. "What did you mean by 'the Lee Asher'?"

She spun around and looked at me with an all-knowing smile. "Well, I said that for the fact that you love him, and about your infamous speech about him with that dreamy look." She gazed at the ceiling imitating a dazed look.

I looked at her with wide eyes and open mouth.

"Shit Rose, don't you dare open your mouth in front of everyone!" I gasped and slapped her arm.

She smirked at me and bounced her way down the stairs shaking her head. I trail behind, glaring at her forehead.

When we're back to our seats, Lee shoots me a questioning look, but I playfully wink at him. We then continue to annoy Lee and Alex until mom calls us for dinner.

Hey guys, I'm updating after quite a long time. This chapter was a little fun in the end, wasn't it?

You know, sometimes I feel that I've officially lost my marbles. I have exams going on right now, and here I am, reading amazing books in Wattpad. Ain't I crazy?
