(The Last Hurrah)

It's another cloudy day,

When will things ever change?

The Sun shines bright,

The clouds pass by,

The moonlight gleams,

As I fall asleep.

I wake the next day,

It's all the same.

Nothing happened, nothing changed.

I've loved and loved until it rained.

My feelings faded,

My heart waited.

Even now, my heart is waiting

For a promising star to walk with me.

But I'm okay.

No need to cry.

I'm awake,

Not dead inside.

I feel alive.

I feel the light.

Come and find me,

I'm still waiting for you with all my might.

I named it "The Last Hurrah" because I am finally ending this book with this one last poem. I am not ending it permanently. I'm just pausing until I find a new inspiration to begin writing poems again.

But I also wrote this because I stopped looking for love. And as every single woman should, I'm waiting for it to find me.
