What a journey?

224 640 minutes later and now it's complete. This is honestly my best book so far. Coming from a person who just got up one day and decided to write a book like Rick Riordan, I am extremely proud of The Road After.

A few things I would like to explain, of what I can right now as you'll see at the end of this chapter.

1. WHY DOESN'T THE ROAD AFTER HAVE A SET LOCATION?

I felt that a location would make everything too focused on details of that specific location. Majority of the world deals with crime of all sorts even in the safest part. This could be SA, USA, anywhere so it didn't really matter where because if it applied to you, if you lived in a place like I have just described, then it can be in your part of the world.

2. WHY DID I GIVE A WARNING IN THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK?

This isn't a crazy book and that's why it isn't mature though it deals with a lot of sensitive topics. I gave the warning because some are affected by the mere mentioning of robberies, public shootings, house invasions. I wanted to give a forewarning just so if someone like that was reading this could prepare themselves.

3. POSSIBLE SHIPS IN THE BOOK?

If you read the book then you'd know there are a few ships that "could've" happened. West and Annabeth, London and Bran, Cass and Shana were even an option. Of course the main two; Annabeth and Harry, Alice and Harry.

The one I'd probably support is probably Annabeth and Harry just because, personally, I have fallen for my bestfriend so I know how good it feels but also how bad it can be on your relationship.

4. INSPIRATION?

This book was based on the home invasion that I one night in my bed imagined. I am constantly imagining things and noting them down for future books. So anyways, I had this idea but I didn't know how I could write an entire book about it because it needed the driving force, the makn character's problem and etc.

I have always been a fan of Harry Potter the movies, I've never had a particular interest in the books, and I am a die hard of Rick Riordan, literally owning all his books. Like I said above, I've fallen for my bestfriend a few times as well. So everytime melded together in a weird, psychotic way my mind only does and the story was born.

5. THE SURPRISE!!!

I am a person that's always writing. I don't take breaks from writing but sometimes I get bored from the book I am writing. That being said I have to carefully manage writing because I like to start two books and then end up finishing one before the other. Also, South Africa's lockdown regarding highschool is ending soon and I have to return to finish my final year.

BUT! That hasn't stopped me from moving forward and I will be double stacking once AGAIN!

A massive thank you to sheenajanson for the cover and yes, you read right. This is a spin off for Alice, before she came, after she came to Morai high and after the second trip to the beach.
It'll tell her journey: how she came to moving, how she witnessed Harry and will even continue from where this book left.
I, admittedly, haven't begun but I will, soon, be posting the first part and weekly updates will follow.
