Day 8/Part 1

The weekend was amazing but also not amazing.

We arrived late morning, all of us except Jace and Harry. I got the opportunity to relax after the stressful week. Everybody got to put their minds somewhere else besides the usual hell hole. Alice got to immerse herself within our group, Bran continuously tried to flirt with London to no prevail and I enjoyed the show West put on.

However, it was as if the world knew that the overall point of the beach day had failed. A chilling wind blew the whole day and the waves were ruthless regardless of the tide. Clouds were gathering on the horizon.

"Hey, Ann! Come join us!" West yelled as everybody cheered and shivered.

My dad has gotten into the routine of driving me to school in the mornings.  What it meant was that I could sleep later now that I didn't have to walk.

For a change, our group was early enough to sit outside before school started. We were back to our shouting ways.

"Bran, it's never gonna work!" Shana hissed loudly. Most of us weren't paying attention to their conversation which was obviously about London.

"Come on, give me a chance. It could work." He whispered loudly. "All I need to do is take her to the ice rink..."

"London hates the cold." I commented.

"...give her the best date she's ever had." He continued.

"London hates the cold." I commented again.

"Dude, London hates the co-" A deep, enormous rumbling interrupted whatever Shana was saying. What it was, we would never know.

The rumbling only grew louder as a navy blue Dodge Challenger pulled into the parking lot. The brutish muscle car pulled to the schools entrance, sending vibrations deep into the Earth.

The door opened and out stepped Harry. Then I remembered who's car it was and when I saw Harry reach for his bag I caught a glimpse of his face. Harry's father, Johnathan.

He must've been deemed healthy enough to get back behind the wheel, I suspected. Harry seems better for it.

And he did. Though he appeared the same as he had the Friday passed, perhaps his father up and about has helped his inner turmoil.

He said goodbye to his father, turning our way as his father revved and noisily rode away.

He stood, routed to his spot. His eyes, unchanged yet from this distance I could tell the flame had brighten, entrapped mine. He gave me a slight nod that I almost missed and walked to his locker.

Many surprises coming up and I hope you enjoy it. I want to thank sheenajanson for making me these amazing covers and for trusting me. Enjoy.
