Day 2/Part 2
Those green eyes, once described as fractured, held me in place. This, in simplest terms, was seriously bad.
The local chief caught me skipping school, My rational side screamed.
But on a side note, your street cred' will definitely level up, My ratchet side countered.
Not helping.
"I ask again, what are you two doing here?" Her lean figure was accentuated by her navy blue workout clothes but that did nothing to lessen the angry look she was giving us.
Varies answers flitted in and out but I decided that if anyone knew anything in this town, it'd be Chief Noami. So I told her how Harry had been the last two days and immaculate detail even though some of it were just rumors at the moment.
"My friend," Who until that point had been nodding as if that would make the story more believable. ", had heard that he put quite the show here last night."
She nodded, the anger lessening aa degree. "Yeah that's true."
My eyes lit up. "You saw him?"
"Oh I did more than see him. I fought him on the mat." She confirmed, rubbing her head as if this was giving her a headache.
I waited and waited. "Well, and?"
"And nothing. He clearly had to get something out and I just happened to near. I can't tell you more or less."

Chief Noami gave the school a heads up call so we could just walk into our classes. Not a word was said during the drive back. I didn't know if it was Bram or me but then again even in class, not a single word escaped my mouth.
With no new developments nor rumors, I decided to backtrack. I didn't know how the investigation was going nor what had actually happened. No new rumors were circling so I was officially at a dead end.
I decided to go to the office. I had no idea if Harry had skipped the day before or not. On our way in, I hadn't seen the green Focus in its unusual spot.
"Um, hi. Hi. Hi." I repeated it four more times before middle aged receptionist looked up. "Is Bram Rodgers here today?"
"Class?" She asked in a rude voice. I told her the class. "No, his not."
"Um, that's funny because I'm pretty sure Chief Naomi called to say that we both were coming in today." I countered. She finally looked up and her eyes widened as she realized I had caught her out.
"Annabeth." She sneered. "I suppose you want to know something?"
"If Malakai came in today and where he was yesterday." I answered cheerfully. Isn't that the trend? Only unhappy, rude receptionist apply for posts at schools.
After a minute of sighing, typing (surely messaging someone), she decided to answer. "Yesterday, Mr Malakai signed out with a call from your Chief dismissing him. According to attendance, he didn't come in today. I hope you'll take my word on it this time."
