Day 11
The school gave us two days to recover. In that time they arranged themselves.
First, Mr Victor and his classes would be held on the field and in the hall on rainy days. Neither him nor our class was eager to step back in that room. Counseling would be offered to children who still had issues and/or a mild case of PTSD. I couldn't even imagine how they must have felt everytime someone walked into their class.
Jace had been booked into a psychiatric facility out of the city to try and get a grip. Besides his depression, he also had a tendency to drink and smoke so maybe this was good for him. Perhaps it would help him realize that he wasn't alone.
Dad was now dedicated to driving me every morning and every afternoon home after school. It was an arrangement I would have to get used to until they began to feel it was safe enough for me to walk.
As we drove that Thursday morning, I saw a lime Focus with a repaired window in the Malakai's driveway.
What a final year.
What started off as an exciting year turned sour quickly. Harry's home invasion, the incident at the clinic, a trip to the police station and...Jace. It was indeed chaotic.
We pulled up at the school and, with a kiss goodbye and a promise to call if anything happens, I got out. Making my way to my locker, I was relieved to see my group standing there as per usual.
So maybe it was chaotic but a lot of good things happened too. The trip to the beach, Wests interest in me and the arrival of Alice. I had found another friend whom I could open and, now, relate to.
I smiled at my friend and took them in. Bran with his ruffled hair, trying to flirt with London. London, dressed casually in the schools colors, denying him. Shana, looking exotic in her ripped jeans talking to Cass, who had regained some of her bad-girl/biker look. Alice, stunning in grey sweats and off the shoulder jumper, joking around.
I wished Harry was here to push it over the edge.

The day passed slowly and without drama for a change. I took my time walking to the cafeteria.
I smiled as I found our table. It was a bit too large for our group but we filled the extra two seats with volume. On the one side Shana, London and Cass. On one end Bran. I walked around, greeting and sat opposite the girls.
"Someone is happy today!" I laughed at London's comment and took out my lunch. "Where's Alice?"
Just then someone dropped in the seat next to me. I become further shocked when I realized who it was. Harry.
How many times have I written that in here, I thought.
He grabbed his lunch and took a bite out of his chicken sandwich. He looked up to see us staring at him. He raised a eyebrow and on cue we all looked away, focusing on everything else. He continued to chew and I followed suit.
"Hey guys!" Alice greeted, coming from behind London and them. Her eyes scanned all of us until they landed on her Harry. Her face turned crimson.
Harry stared at her, chewing slowly, cheeks filled with food. He swallowed but didn't look away. My eyes darted between them, trying to figure out what was happening.
"Um, d-do you m-mind if I-I sat t-t-there?" Alice stuttered out, somehow blushing more.
Harry paused as if to think about it.
"Yeah sure." He calmly got up and moved to the other end, opposite to Bran all the while holding Alice's eyes.
Alice quickly moved to his seat, still crimson. Too late, I realized that not only our table was quiet but the entire cafeteria.
"Thank you." Alice whispered but this time held eye contact. She even offered a small smile.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Again, I paid witniss to the shy goddess I'd first met last Friday. Neither could I believe Harry but apparently he wasn't finished.
His face broke into a sight I haven't beheld in what seemed like years.
He smiled at Alice who blushed even more! "It is my pleasure. Harry Malakai."
Still blushing but with a massive grin on her face, she replied. "Alice Hadley."
