Chapter 24~ Is this home?

Storm woke to the sound of a rustling bag.
"Storm!" The meow came from T.C. "It's time to eat! You should really meet the housefolk! She's really nice!"

Storm got up to stretch. It took her a split second to realize that he'd said 'housefolk'.
"Umm..." Her voice was scratchy from all the talking she'd done the day earlier.
"It's fine. I know warriors didn't like housefolk, but the housefolk here take care of us. Trust me." Snowshoe purred.

"Okay." Storm crawled slowly out from behind the small box she had been sleeping behind and blinked in the morning light.
When the twoleg saw her, she covered her mouth, like she was surprised to see her.
Then she bent down, reaching her hand to Storm.
Storm fluffed out her pelt, and her instinct told her to hiss and scratch.
But she didn't. She knew this twoleg. As if long ago.

So she let the twoleg pet her. She even purred.
"See, it's not so bad," T.C purred. "She takes care of us."
"She really does," Snowshoe agreed as the twoleg stood up.
A few minutes later, the twoleg left, leaving Storm alone with her family and new friends.
"So," a different kitten approached her. "Would you like us to show you around, or...?"
"Sure," Storm nodded. "That would be great. What's your name again?"
"Pepper."
"Okay, hi, Pepper."

The land on the small farm was nice, and with all the leaf-fall colors, it was beautiful. The twolegs that lived there had a lot of chickens, and two dogs.
One of the dogs loved teasing the cats, but Snowshoe and Hawk knocked some sense into her with their claws.

At the chickencoop, there was another cat. She introduced herself as Lily, and she had a few kittens- though there were SO MANY CATS that Storm forgot most of their names.
By the time Pepper was done the tour, it was almost nightfall, so they all gathered outside on the roof of the cat shed.

"So, how'd you like it?" Snowshoe asked.
"It was... nice." Storm had always been use to the worries of clan life, but here... "You barely worry at all," she murmured.
"Why would we need to?" Fiona purred.
"You wouldn't. I think this place is amazing. Thank you for letting me stay."
"You're my daughter. I'm never going to chaise you away. I promise."
With that, Storm stared at her paws. Is this home?
