Chapter 17~ Not my Warrior
Fernkit struggled out of the grasp of the teeth.
She hissed as she landed on her feet and spun around to look up at a Moonclan apprentice.
"What are you doing?" The grey she- kit growled. "Go kill somecat."
The white speckled black she- cat backed away. "Look," She meowed. "I just saved your life. You should thank me."
"That was my clanmate. He wouldn't kill me. He just wanted to bring me into the safety of the den."
"I saw it in his eyes. He was defiantly trying to kill you."
Fernkit rolled her eyes. "No, not. Plus, you're a Moonclan cat. Go away. No one would even want to save me, after what I did."
"So it was you."
Fernkit jumped and grabbed her tail in her teeth.
"Ow! Leggo!"
"No." She crunched harder, feeling it snap.
Starpaw yowled as she felt her tail break.
She snarled and ripped herself free, jumping back.
"I won't attack a kit." She hissed.
The kit shrugged. "Your loss then." And she attacked again.
Starpaw took the advantage of her size and pinned the kit.
"So all this was caused by a tiny kit that was exploring." Starpaw exclaimed. "Wait till I tell Lightstar! Then we can stop all this useless fighting."
The grey kit struggled up and ran. The running made Starpaw recognize her.
She's that grey kitten from the vision! She gasped. "Wait!" She yowled.
Fernkit ran across the clearing and didn't stop, not even when she heard a yowl.
"Wait!"
She shook her head and only stopped when she heard a scream that she recognized.
Boulderpaw!
She spun just in time to see a tom lunge, grasp Boulderpaw's throat, and give the killing bite.
"Boulderpaw!" Ashpaw howled.
"That was a warning." The black cat hissed.
He disappeared.
"Lightstar!" Stonestar called. "How dare you let one of your warriors kill this apprentice!"
A Siamese she- cat stepped forward. "That was not my warrior." She looked confused. "My warriors would never do something like that. Especially to an apprentice."
"Then who... Lightstar, please leave. One of our apprentices is dead. You have done enough."
Starpaw looked around the Treeclan camp.
"I already told you." Her leader was saying. "That wasn't my warrior." She signalled for Moonclan to leave.
Starpaw followed, and on her way, she saw dark amber eyes glaring at her.
The eyes from the black cat in her vision.
