The once dark hallways were now tinted red from the flashing lights that lined the corridor. It made chills crawl up my spine.

Victor, in his wolf form, sniffed at the air for a moment before shifting back. "I smell him," He began, "But I don't know where the smell is coming from. It's everywhere. I can't pinpoint an exact location."

I nodded. He was probably doing this with his powers. He was trying to make us give up. But we wouldn't give up. We were going to search that facility until every single room in this compound was explored.

Evanora sped up a bit to keep pace with me and Alex. "Are you two okay?" She asked.

"We're fine." Alex responded quickly.

"Well, you don't look it. Alex, not only do you have a swollen black eye, your temple and nose are both bleeding uncontrollably. Circe, you have a giant scar running up the side of your face that looks like you got into a fight with a giant bear." Evanora said pointing.

My hand traveled up to my face to hold my cheek, and when I removed it, my hand was covered in blood. My eyes widened. I couldn't even feel the pain from the scar. Perhaps I was just running on too much adrenaline.

I shook my head at Evanora. "It's fine. We're not dead and the wounds obviously aren't bothering us. Let's just find Dorian and take care of him. Then we'll focus on our injuries." Alex nodded in agreement.

"But, you guys-"

"Evie," She looked up at me as I called her name suddenly. I looked at her with a small smile. "We're okay. We're not dead and we're all together. That's all that matters."

Evanora bit her lip lightly, as if the sight of our wounds were still bothering her, but she nodded nonetheless.

"I'm just happy to see you guys are okay. I was so scared that we wouldn't make it in time." Victor said, changing the subject to obviously keep tension to a minimum.

"How did you guys find us, anyway?" I asked.

"Skye told us. You guys were gone for a whole day. Mrs. Florence got worried. Everyone did. Then Skye said you guys had left to go see Dorian's meeting for some reason and we kind of put two and two together. It was obvious." Evanora stated.

"Why did you guys go to Dorian's meeting? No offense, but that was a really stupid thing to do." Victor asked.

He was right. It was stupid. I opened my mouth to talk, but Victor suddenly stopped walking. He tilted his head upwards and his brow furrowed for a bit. "Vic, are you okay?"

Suddenly his eyes widened "CIRCE LOOK OUT!" He cried suddenly. I turned around suddenly and my heart stopped at what I saw. I was frozen. I couldn't move.

Evanora turned around and looked at me with wide eyes. She looked down at the spear in her chest then looked back up at me.

Then she smiled as blood began to dribble down her chin before she collapsed.
