"WHAT?!!?!?!!?' I yowl.

Panic settles in when I realize what that means.

"Firelight, tell me exactly what happened!" I growl between gritted teeth.

Looking scared, she answers me. "I escorted Ice to the cave. She went inside, I know because I again escorted her into the cave, and made her sit in one spot. I also had Tallfoot, Hollyjay, and Snowbreeze help me tie a winter vine around Ice so she couldn't use her wings. After we were done, I dismissed Tallfoot and Snowbreeze, and asked Hollyjay to help gaurd the entrance to the cave. She was in there, I swear!" Firelight closes her eyes, turns her head to the ground, and continues. "After a little bit, I tell Hollyjay that I will go check on Ice. I walk in, and she's gone!"

I see pain in Firelight's eyes as she ends her explanation. "We searched the cave, but there was no sign of her, or of any way she could have escaped. I'm so sorry," she whispers.

"It's OK, but fetch Tempestclaw for me will you!" I reply.

Firelight nods, and rushes away.

Tempestclaw rushes into my den with Firelight following.

"Firelight told me everything," Tempestclaw pants. "What should we do?"

"I want extra patrols out there looking for Ice," I mew.

We fastwalk outside of the cave, and into the center of camp. Before I can do much, Mossshine bounds up to me.

"I know everything has been hard lately, so I have voulenteered to help with Featherlight's kits," she says.

"Thanks," I reply without looking at her. Turning back to Tempestclaw, I suggest, "Why don't we have Brambleberry lead a patrol? Honeycloud, Dovepaw, Ivyfang, and Bluepaw can go on that patrol. Have Foxfur lead a patrol with Hollyjay, and Whitewillow and her apprentice Fastpaw. I'll lead a patrol with you both (Tempestclaw and Firelight), and Tallfoot. We will search the territory, and make sure that if Ice is gone, that she really is gone."

We gather the cats in question, who agree to do the patrols.

"Remember," I remind the patrols, "we are not looking for a fight. If you have to defend yourself, so be it, but don't cause a fight!"

The patrols set off, along with my patrol. We tromp through deep snow in blizzard like conditions. Not finding a lot, we continue for a while.

All of a sudden, a group of a eight cats that have wings like us, jumps out at us. We fight fiercely, but are soon pinned down. I glance up, and see Ice standing on a snow bank a couple of fox lengths away from me.

"Take them to our camp!" She snaps, her eyes blazing triumphantly. "Nightshade will deal with them!"

Upon seeing me, Ice comes closer, sneering. "Nightshade will be delighted to have the one and only Silverstar too!"

Panick fills me. Why would Nightshade want me?

OK, sorry for not updating in like forever. I'm working on another book too, but I wasn't exactly sure what else to do in this book.
