Doctor Taft steps off the train with his suitcase. He looks around and saw a few red kingdom Troops patrolling the area. He sighs.

*seems the war never ended*
He thought to himself.

As Doctor Taft Walks around woodland seeing all manner of people walking by going about there day. He eventually comes across the law office. He walks in and see a man who looks around 50 pouring himself a cup of coffee.

"Hello sir,are you constable Jacob?" Doctor Taft asked.

"Indeed I am sir and who might you be?" Constable Jacob asked as he sips his coffee.

"I'm Doctor Taft I'm from St.Peters asylum. I'm here about a case that you were involved in 12 years ago. About the murder of Miss esquire." Doctor Taft said to the constable.

Constable Jacob sighs as he takes a seat.

"What do you want to know?" Constable Jacob asked

Doctor Taft pulls out a pencil and paper and pulls up a chair at the table constable Jacob was sitting at.

"Tell me to the best of your knowledge what happened that day." Doctor Taft asked.

"Well...it all started in the middle of the night."

At the time I was doing my usual work patrolling the town. Until
I head a gunshot...sounded like it came from the north. So I walk around and saw the esquire home. The door was wide open and I heard a scream so I ran in with my gun drawn and saw...a horrifying sight. The boy..Jarvis was holding a kitchen knife it was covered in blood and I saw miss esquire on the ground her body was.... mutilated and her throat cut..blood was everywhere...I even saw her daughter Alice on the ground crying....I...was frozen for a bit until I called out.

"Jarvis drop the knife or I will blast you!" Constable Jacob shouted.

Jarvis turn around and I saw his face...covered in blood...he tried charging at me..but I fired a shot. Hitting his right arm making him fall and drop the knife. Then I saw esquire daughter Alice yell at me saying.

"No! You killed him!!" Alice cried.

She tried picking up the knife so I hit her over the head. Jarvis tried getting back up to so I hit him over the head to. By that time my deputy's had arrived. The next day Jarvis was laughing like a maniac shouted he was gonna kill us all...couldn't believe a boy like that could yell such threats...

"Wait...Alice was the name of Mrs. Esquire daughter?" Doctor Taft asked.

"Yes." Constable Jacob answered.

"So...I know it's been a long time since that night. But why do you think Jarvis did it?" Doctor Taft asked.

"Well..I think the boy was just a psycho from the beginning." Constable Jacob said.

"Really? Any examples you witnessed?" Doctor Taft asked.

"Well one..in particular...when he was 11 or 12 he found a..hat a Black Tophat you know the hat rich guys wears...he found it in some trash can or something. The odd thing about it every time I saw him with that hat he would talk to it." Constable Jacob said.

"Talk to it?" Doctor Taft asked curiously

"Yes...hell even the sisters said at the orphanage when ever he was alone he would talk to his hat like it was a person or something." Constable Jacob said sighing.

"Wait? He was a orphan?" Doctor Taft asked.

"Indeed he was,but don't bother asking for any records from the sisters the orphanage burned down last week. After the reds thought there were white rebels in the orphanage." Constable Jacob said as he pulls out a cigarette and lights it.

"Oh...I see...well I thank you Constable..but before I go. What ever happened to Mrs. Esquire's daughter Alice?" Doctor Taft asked.

"Beats me,all that I remember was that she was sent to her next of kin. The sisters took care of it and there no longer here to so sorry Doc." Constable Jacob said smoking the cigarette.

"It's alright and thank you Jacob have a nice day." Doctor Taft said as he left.

Wonderful...so Hatter killed his friends mother..and he talks to his hat.....wait.....Hatter told me of his other friends he hanged out with..Chester,the twins and Hair and of course Alice...if I could talk with one of them...perhaps I could find the answers I'm looking for.

Doctor Taft thought to himself.
