Chapter 15: The Fight
So what happens next is a blur of.......... craziness.
Charlie flys at the copper haired girl, and the auburn haired boy runs to protect her.
Me and Sophie are just staring at each other, and Zaporah and Dad are circling each other like lions.
Nana is still on the ground, and mom is shaking so bad, she might as well be too. Any onlookers would probably think we've all lost it.
Suddenly Zaporah gasps and backs away.
Me and Sophie turn are gaze to her, as Dad turns pale and Zaporah looks ready to barf.
Sophie's eyebrows scrunch up, then she too gasps, and FAINTS.
Dad catches her before she hits the ground though.
Zaporah's POV
I slip into the tall mans head.
Kirstin's supposed father.
What are you doing in here?
His voice suddenly booms in his head.
I gasp and stumble back.
He looks at me with same kind of shock.
Who are you?
We transmit to each other at the same time.
Irish's POV
I have no idea what the HECK I did, but I grabbed Kiristin's arm, and she screamed bloody murder. If possible, I would have died right there.
Of charigine.
I didn't though and I end up running out the door screaming like a freaking idiot.
"I DIDN'T DO IT!"
"Do what Irish?" Mr. Forkle asks.
I open my mouth to answer when two older women run out of the house. One of them makes a weird noise in her throat and stands frozen staring at Mr. Forkel. The other one passes out cold and crumples to the ground.
With this, all of chaos broke loose. I step toward Mr. Forkle who is looking very confused. I look at Austin who looks just as confused as I do, when a heavy weight is thrown on top of my back. I get socked in the nose, and tears spring to my eyes.
I scream in the face of my attacker, a tall, horribly green man person thing.
He slaps the tar out of the side of my face and I bite down on his arm as hard as I can.
I hear Austin holler, and the green man goes sailing into the air to land face first on the ground. Austin is by my side, and he helps me up.
"Hang on I'm gonna go comit murder." He mutters before striding over to where the green person is now crouched.
The green man looks furriously up at Austin. The whole six feet. I hear the green man mutter something that sounds like some kind of cussing in another language, and lunges for Austin's torso.
Austin sidesteps, and busts the man in the jaw. More strange cussing.
"STOP IT!" I scream.
Austin jerks his head toward me, but the green man tries to knock Austin out. Austin tries to duck the punch, but it plows across the side of his head and his ear.
"Arg!" Austin yelps.
He slaps the green man hard across the face, vengeance burning in his eyes.
The Green man cusses again, but this time he whips a knife from somewhere I can't see.
Austin's eyes narrow, and he leaps back from the man.
"Get back- here- you- coward!" The green man says, breathing hard
"I'm no coward." Austin mutters.
All of the sudden I feel the wind swirl around me, whipping my hair and stinging my eyes. I look at Austin.
He has a look of fury on his face and the winds blow harder. The green man can't touch Austin for all the wind. The wind blows even harder than before, doubling in ferocity.
I drop to my knees and crouch low in the grass to avoid being swept away. The wind is screaming now, or is that something else? All of the sudden, quicker than you can blink, the wind stops.
It throws the green man off balance, making him stumble. Austin jumps on him, and pins his arms beneath him.
"Irish- can you- help?" He gasps.
I walk over and hold the man's hands. He is definitely cussing now.
"Thank you for saving me Austin." I say, trying not to think about how cute he looks with his hair all screwed up.
"No-problem" he says, still out of breath.
"Are you okay?" He says, concern for me filling his voice. My heart flutters.
"Yes. You got him off my back before he could do much damage."
Austin gently reaches out and touches my chin.
"Not completely. You've got a pretty little shiner there kiddo."
Now that he mentions it, I can feel it stinging. Below me the green man squirms.
"Can you stuff it and let me go?"
He says.
I grin at Austin, then the green man.
"Sure I'll let you go, but you better not try anything. Austin can get kinda cranky sometimes."
I get up, and sort of jump back, and the green man rubs his face where it's starting to swell.
"No kidding." He says wryly, before standing and pulling something small from his pocket.
Before we realize what it is, he points it at Austin and shoots.
Then he just walks away towards the Kirstin girl.
The beam hits Austin in the shoulder and he crumpled to the ground, unmoving. A gargled scream comes to my lips and I run to him, pulling his beautiful head into my lap.
I look over to the green man, and watch as pulls a small vial from a hidden pocket and drinks it.
As soon as he does, all the bruises and swelling on his face and places, just disappear.
He pulls out another tiny vial with a cream in it, that he rubs on the places that are bleeding.
By the time he done, he looks like he's never been in a fight in his life.
I look back down at poor Austin.
All beat and bruised and unconscious.
And a fury flows into my veins.
I jump up and let out a war cry before charging at the man, but an even bigger man stops me in my tracks.
He looks just like the other green man, except without glasses and is bigger and buffer.
Fear and tears come to my eyes as I look up into his pointy toothed face.
"Please don't hurt me."
I whisper.
His hands are holding my forearms, but not in a breaking way.
He just keeps staring at me.
"Wow......you.....your so beautiful...."
I finally murmurs in a odd accent.
I blush profoundly.
Then he lets go of one of my arms and pulls something from his pocket.
Startled, I pull away and Mesmer him to let go of me and walk to the porch.
He looks very confused.
"It's just some healing cream."
He says from the porch.
Then he walks back to me, and rubs a large soft finger against the bruised part of my face.
The cool cream rubs into my skin and soothes it greatly.
He does the same for my other bad
"Wounds", then smiles kindly and turns away.
I turn back to Austin, only to see him sitting up and glaring at me. I step back toward the big man.
"Sir?"
He turns toward me.
"What is it?" He asks.
I feel my ears getting red.
"Could I maybe, umm have some off that stuff for Austin?"
He tosses the vial toward me.
"Help yourself." He says, a grin in his voice.
"Thank you!" I say nervously.
I quickly walk back to Austin, where he is sitting on the ground rubbing his head.
I kneel down beside him, and put some of the stuff on my fingers. I go to put it on his forehead, but he pulls back.
"What?" I ask.
"Who was that?" He growls.
I flush slightly.
"I don't know."
Austin looks at the man, glowering.
"Why were you with him?"
"Well after that first green man knocked you out, he fixed himself I guess. Then I sorta lost it and went to go beat the heck out of him, but the man you just saw stopped me."
"Then?" Promps Austin.
"Then he fixed my face. Nothing else." I say in a rush.
Austin looks at me steadily.
"Nothing else? Are you sure about that?"
I twist a lock of my hair in between my fingers.
"He called me beautiful." I whisper,
flushing in shame.
Austin looks away from me, and I see his cheeks flush. I blink hard, trying to get rid of the unbidden tears that are in my eyes.
It doesn't work, and they fall down onto my cheeks. I sniff, and look down at my hands. I twist them in and out of each other, feeling worse every second.
Austin still hasn't said anything, and I'm afraid to look at his face. He probably hates my guts now. Austin tips my chin up, forcing me to look at him.
"It's okay kiddo. It's okay." He says quietly.
This should have made me feel better, but I just cry harder. I can hardly even see him through my tears, and I feel like I might just die.
Austin pulls me into his lap, and puts his strong arms around me.
I cry into his shoulder, and he strokes the hair out of my face.
"What's wrong?" He asks.
"Oh-sniff- nothing. You just- sniff - hate my guts- sniff- now."
I can feel his shoulders shaking. For a minute I think he's crying, but then I realize he's laughing.
"Irish. Do you really think I would hate you just because some green man fixed your face?"
I laugh a little.
"No, I guess not."
I pick the vial up off the ground, and spread some on all the cuts and bruises that are spread across his face and arms.
I flush a deep red, and hand him the vial.
"You can um, fix the rest later."
Austin throws his head back, and laughs and laughs.
(So, sorry for this, but me and Joy went back and redid like half this chapter, so please reread it if you haven't already.)
