We were swirling through one of Chaos's portals-a feeling that after fifty years I am still not used to. My whole world is turned upside down over and over, my stomach almost coming out my throat. My head spins and my soul seems to float out of my body, only holding on by a string.
Chaos had showed us images of a group of people in black cloaks like ours, holding purple weapons. Purple?! They glinted in the night with evil and power radiating off of them. They raised their weapons in the air and cheered.
"Kill the gods! Kill them all!" They had shouted.
(I changed it guys, I know. Before it was a girl with monsters now it's not)
Finally my feet hit solid ground and pain shot up them. I fell onto everyone else who was on the ground groaning and trying to climb off eachother while Chaos was standing above us with a grin on his face. Or so I assumed.
Chaos had us all put on our capes and hoods to disguise ourselves, as Camp halfblood couldn't know who we were. Especially me. I didn't want them to know anyway, after what had happened. How they all had sat around watching me die by the hand of Zeus himself...
My wings were concealed under my cape, but I was itching to stretch them out and take a short fly. my wings had become a part of me more rather than their own thing.
Once we were all up off the ground, we looked around to see where we were. We were on the beach at camp halfblood, the ocean lapping at our feet. But something was off. The color of the ocean was a murky dark greenish color, as if all joy had been sucked out of it. Where it touched my feet, the color came back and it was the nice clear ocean again, but when it left, it was back to murky again.
"I just contacted the gods and let them know of our mission. They raised a cabin for us at camp as well. I didn't let them know who you were anyway, and you can't let ANYONE know. Even if it's an old best friend or..." Chaos looks at me. I'm staring at the floor, images flooding through my mind.
"Anyway, we will stay with camp as long as the threat remains there. Are you ready?" He asks, scanning the group. Everyone but me nods, I just keep staring at the ground.
"Omega, I need you to put your past behind you. They don't know who you are, and they can't find out," Chaos says gently.
PUT IT BEHIND ME?! I want to scream at him, pick something up and crush it under my fingertips, hurt something. I just keep my breathing steady.
"Okay," I say calmly, raising my head. Thank the gods that my hood disguises my face, because it was cold and hard.
Hey, I'm sorry, Chaos says in my mind. I don't answer. We start walking towards camp, and get stares from campers. Whispers fill my ears, and I can hear each one clearly-a perk of being a warrior.
"Monsters?"
"Who are they?"
"Why are the wearing cloaks?"
"Dangerous?"
"A threat?"
"Should we attack?"
We walk towards the big house to alert Chiron. Once we enter he spots us and his hands are immediately on his bow and arrows. Then Chaos takes off his hood, and Chiron drops his bow and bows.
"Now now, none of that old friend," Chaos says. The rest of us watch confused as Chaos and Chiron embrace in a hug.
"Chiron and I have been communicating for a very long time. He lets me know of all the greatest heroes so...so I can hear stories and have some entertainment," Chaos says. We all know why he really needs to know about the great heroes, but Chiron doesn't.
"As you can see, our cabin has been raised already, but only my Chaos Warriors can enter. Let me introduce them to you," Chaos says to Chiron.
"This is Alpha, Angel, Beauty, Forge, Hunter, and Omega," he says pointing to each one of us. Chiron nods and shakes our heads.
"Nico to meet you, Chiron," Luke says. Chiron smiles, not recognizing him at all. Luke's voice has grown deeper anyhow. But not mine.
"Yes, pleased to meet you," I say. Chiron freezes.
"Percy?" He asks. I was prepared. Steely calm, I put out my hand.
"I am sorry, I know not of a Percy, I am Omega, leader of the Warriors," I say, trying to sound older. Chiron's expression falls and my heart breaks a little.
"We must be going to our cabin now for the night," Selena says. Before we had left Chaos had told us that he would not be staying in the cabin, he had his own place on earth closer to the girl, so he could watch her.
"Goodbye my warriors, and see you in the morning," Chaos says.
"I will call the camp to the fire for a meeting and tell them of your presence," Chiron says. We all nod and head back to the cabin. We arrive and it is a pitch black cabin with large black doors sealed shut with a lock. There are silver vines snaking around the sides, and there is a giant lock on the door.
"Uh, anyone know the passcode?" I ask. Luke laughs.
"I suspect there is no passcode," Luke says and walks up to the lock, tapping it. It unlocks instantly and we step inside. The campers are all still staring at us and then I hear a giant yell. Mr. D.
"Campers to the fire for an announcement!" He booms. Everyone rushes off.
We close the doors and inspect our beds. It is a normal cabin, but our beds are the same colors as the gems on our cloaks. I walk over to mine and see fresh clothes to last months on it. I move them into the trunk on the end of my bed and take my cloak off and throw it on the ground. Everyone stares at me as I stretch my wings and I hear cracks in them and my back.
"What?" I ask. They all look away and get ready for bed. I put on some green pajamas and climb into bed, folding my wings in on my back, closing my eyes and falling asleep.
Just like...
Just like I'm home.
I'm a horrible fucking person
I'm sorry I've made peRCY SO FUCKING MISERABLE IN THIS BOOK
