Chapter Four

That's when I heard Piper's voice ringing through the clearing.

"Percy drop your sword," she commanded. When it was about to hit Annabeth it fell out of my hand and clattered onto the ground. Annabeth fell back onto the ground scrambling away from me. My thoughts got even cloudier now.

"Drop...no kill her...forget...no uh..." I muttered but I was conflicted on which voice to listen to. One sounded so powerful and the other sounded darker and dangerous. They almost evened out but then the more powerful one won. My thoughts cleared and my vision lost its tint of red. Most of the campers had run and hid in their cabins. Only a few had stayed to watch, plus the seven and Chiron.

My head throbbed painfully and I fell backwards into the ground. No one rushed forward to help me. No one trusted me. Not after I had tried to kill the girl I fell into Tartarus with. Annabeth had stood up now and the seven who were here at camp helped her. Frank and Hazel were at Camp Jupiter of course, but not Piper and Jason. And of course Leo...

And that's when I forgot. Everything that had just happened disappeared.

"Wh...what happened...?" I asked. The rest of the campers had left now. It was just Chiron, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, and I.

"Percy, at think you need to stay in the Big House tonight," Chiron said softly. I looked at the three people I really had left as friends here at CHB. Annabeth looked stunned, Piper looked confused, and Jason looked concerned. But non of them looked scared or like they had ditched me like the rest of the camp.

'I'm sorry Wise Girl' I mouthed to Annabeth a tear trailing it's way down my face. Having no idea what I had done, I still knew I had hurt her in some way. She nodded ad I walked to the Big House with Chiron.

I woke up on the couch in the Big House the next morning. Chains on my ankles and wrists held me down. I had begged Chiron to chain me down so I wouldn't hurt anyone else. And it had worked. I called for him and he was instantly undoing my chains, looking at me with pity.

"Percy, I need to tell you something," Chiron said still undoing my chains. I nod listening.

"The gods...they said the next time is the last straw. They argue that the innocent deaths of their children are not worth the price of one child," Chiron says softly. I stiffen.

"The gods want to...they want to kill me?" I whisper. Chiron nods slowly a tear coming out of his left eye now.

"No Percy. Not all of them. Poseidon, Aphrodite, and surprisingly Athena voted to keep you alive. But they were over ruled," Chiron says. I stare at him, my thoughts wild and fearful. The gods were going to kill me. But they should, I wouldn't do anything to help anymore but kill their children. I was crazy after all.

"I...I..." I couldn't think of anything to say. Chiron sniffed and wiped his nose. He was crying over a killer?

"Your not dead yet Percy. We can find a way to fix this. We will help you. You have hope," Chiron says undoing the last of my chains.

"Can you do one last thing for me? You know, you can think of it like a dying request," I smile sadly at Chiron. He glares at me.

"I'll do whatever Percy, but you are NOT dead," he says. I just nod.

"Have someone watch me. Someone who can hurt me bad enough to knock me out if it happens again. Tracking my every move. I don't trust myself," I say. Chiron just nods and calls over a camper whispering in his ear. The camper is small with short brown hair and brown eyes. He looks scared but determined. Most likely he hasn't been claimed yet.

"Chiron what-" I start wondering why he would send such a small camper to keep me in check.

"He has a sedative on him. He just stabs you with it and then..." Chiron trails off. We both know. The gods will kill me if someone is hurt.

"Thank you," I nod at the kid. He is shaking a little but follows me out the door.

Another one! Boy oh boy!
