Selina waited for another sound after the crack when Bane slammed Bruce on the ground. But nothing not even a breath came.  He didn't move a muscle as  blood came from the back of his head as he just stared at the full moon. Moments ago Bruce had been focused the bats attracted by the weaponized technology,  but before she could grab his arm his neck was broken swiftly. 

"You were supposed to leave Gotham after being a hero.. To do better, to just be you and leave me behind." Selina whispered as tears filled her eyes and his blood stained her gloves." You were going to help us win this..."  What happened next was a combination of grief, of other impulses and an inability to leave him behind.

'Don't be pathetic enough to leave his body behind. Do one thing right gutter trash. ' Every thought helped break her as she brought the body of Bruce Wayne to the GCPD.

She noticed how their eyes turned to her, from friends, from allies, from everyone who recognized face.  But the worst was Jim who acted like he lost his own son.  Harvey pulled out a chair for her before doing his best to comfort her in his way. Giving her a drink before Barbara put her arm around thr young thief but somehow she couldn't hear a thing.

Not a single word anyone said, except for eventual sound of Alfred breaking down. The man was far more broken, having the single most important thing taken from him. His only son was gone, and so was apparently his sm

Along with her heart and hope.
