Prologue: The Awakening Tide

The sun hung over Olive City casting golden rays over the tranquil waters of the harbor. The air was filled with the lively chatter of flying type Pokemon living around here and the gentle lapping of waves against the docks. It was Kieran Magmaroot's tenth birthday, and his family had planned a fishing trip to celebrate with best friend Kaiyo joining the festivities, adding to the excitement of the day.

Kieran stood at the edge of the dock, his aquamarine hair shimmering in the sunlight and teal eyes gleaming with anticipation. He looked out over the calm water, his mind buzzing with thoughts of the Pokémon journey he would soon embark on. Today, though, it was about enjoying time with his family and friends.

His mother Jennifer Reynolds, and his stepfather Jameson Reynolds, busied themselves with the fishing gear, preparing for a day of relaxation and bonding. Jennifer's caring demeanor was evident as she ensured everything was in order for a perfect birthday outing. Jameson, with his calm and collected nature, helped Kieran's younger siblings, four year old Liam and two year old Emma, who were playing nearby their laughter punctuating the soft breeze.

Kaiyo, a fair skin ten year old boy with short silk smooth ginger hair and orange eyes was soaking in the sun ray's, his excitement matching Kieran's. "I can't wait to see what Pokémon you catch on this fishing trip," Kaiyo said watching his best friend work with his mother to secure a Sentrent lure on his fishing rod.

Kieran grinned, the enthusiasm infectious. "Me neither! It's going to be an awesome day!" He cast his line into the water, the lure disappearing beneath the surface with a satisfying splash. They settled into a comfortable rhythm, the peace of the setting blending with quiet chatter of the group.

As time passed, the sun climbed higher in the sky, and the day grew warmer. Kieran felt a strange pull in his chest, an odd sensation he couldn't quite place, but felt like something was calling out to him. He shook his head, trying to focus on the task at hand.

Suddenly , the water around his fishing line began to Ripple. Kieran's heart skipped a beat as he felt a strong tug on the line. "I've got something!" He shouted, gripping the rod tightly. Kaiyo and his family gathered around him, eyes wide with anticipation.

Kieran struggled to reel in his catch, the rod bending unde4 the weight. The water splashed and churned as he pulled, and finally a small brown-furred Pokémon emerged from the depths. It Was an Eevee, barely conscious floating on the surface. The sight of little Pokémon struck a chord in Kieran's heart.

Jameson quickly moved to help, gently lifting the Eevee from the water and laying it on the dock. "It must have been caught in the current," He said examining the Pokémon with a trained eye."The poor girl looks exhausted, and I can tell it a female by the tails appearance."

Kieran nodded his understanding as he knelt beside the Eevee, reaching a hand to stroke its damp fur. As his fingers brushed against it, a strange sensation washed over him. He felt a connection, a bond forming between them. Suddenly, his mind was flooded with images and emotions of fear, confusion, and a deep longing for safety. Kieran gasped, pulling back in surprise from the images in his mind.

Jennifer noticed his reaction. "Kieran are you okay?" She asked, concern etched on her face.

Kieran blinked, shaking his head to clear the confusion. "I I think I heard it," He murmured, looking down at the Eevee. "I think I heard what she was feeling."

Kaiyo looked at Kieran puzzled. "What do you mean Kie?" He asked, using his playful nickname for his best friend.

Kieran hesitated, trying to find the right words. "It was like... I could feel her emotions. I saw images in my head. She's scared and tired." He looked up at his parents, eyes wide in confusion and curiosity." How is that possible?" He questioned.

Jennifer and Jameson exchanged a glance, their expressions a mix of surprise and concern. Jameson knelt beside Kieran, placing A measuring hand on his shoulder. "Kieran ,sometimes people have a special gift like aura guardian's and those with psychic abilities. You must be one of those with psychic abilities which allows you to understand Pokémon."

Kieran looked down at the Eevee, who was now resting comfortably wrapped up in a towel Jameson had taken out from his bag. As he gazed at her he felt an unspoken promise and need to protect her."I think she needs a name," Kieran said softly, his fingers brushing the Eevee's fur.

Kaiyo grinned. "How about Twilight, because she's been through a rough journey, and now she's finding a new beginning, like the end of the day leading into night."

Kieran smiled and chuckled at his best friend's reasoning. "I love the sound of the name. Twilight it is."

As they continued their day, the bond between Kieran and Twilight grew stronger as the two spent the rest of the day playing together, and Kieran marveled at the connection he felt with her. But as the sun began to lower signaling afternoon something unexpected happened.

Kieran, still, basking in the glow of the day's events so far, felt a strange sensation again. The water around the dock began to move unnaturally. At first, it was just a Ripple, then a small wave, then a whirlpool formed around Kieran's feet. He gasped, stepping back in shock as the water obeyed his unspoken commands.

Jennifer and Jameson watched in awe as water responded to him and realized he was controlling it, but noticing his shock Jennifer gently touched his shoulder. "Kieran it's okay," She said gently comforting her son. You're special, these abilities are a gift never feel otherwise."

Kieran stared at the water still moving as he attempted to make it stop trying to figure out how to control his power."But.. how is this possible?" He asked confused.

"I have no idea, never heard of anyone who could control water," Kaiyo replied, just as confused about the situation.

Kieran then spent the rest of his time trying to understand his powers over lunch. Soon the sun was slowly beginning to set a sign that the day was coming to an end. Kieran and his family and Kaiyo decided it was time to call it a day and head back home to Cherrygrove City.

As the family packed up their belongings and prepared to leave, Kieran felt a deep sense of contentment. Despite the unexpected discovery of his abilities, he was surrounded by love and support. The day had been full of surprises, from meeting Twilight to discovering his powers, and felt ready to face whatever the future held for him.

A week later, Kieran had set off on his Pokémon journey with Twilight by his side. They traveled to New Bark Town to meet up with Professor Elm to receive his Pokedex and official. Kaiyo joined him as well and ended up picking Cyndaquil as his starter and both boys then set off from the Kanto Region saying goodbye to Jhoto as they began their very first Pokémon journey expected to be full of unknown challenges and wonders.

However Jennifer and Jameson who were back in Cherrygrove after saying goodbye to Kieran who just left for his journey an hour ago. As they were getting Liam and Emma ready for the day they heard a knock on the door. Jennifer exchanged a look with Jameson before she headed on towards the door to see who decided to pay them a visit this morning.

Opening the door, Jennifer was met with the sight of an older man in a wheelchair. He had a kind face, with a bald head and sharp, intelligent eyes. The man smiled warmly, a gentle, reassuring presence.

"Good morning," the man greeted, his voice calm and soothing. "My name is Charles Xavier. May I come in?"

Jennifer, curious and slightly cautious, nodded. "Of course, please come in."

As Professor Xavier entered the house, he took in the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Jameson, holding Emma in his arms, approached, his expression a mix of curiosity and concern. "Is there something we can help you with?"

Xavier nodded, his expression becoming serious. "Yes, there is. I'm here to discuss your son, Kieran."

Jennifer and Jameson exchanged worried glances. "How do you know our son ?" Jennifer asked.

Xavier's eyes softened as he spoke." I run a school for Gifted youngsters. You see we have a device called Cerebro that helps us locate individuals with extraordinary abilities. Kieran's unique gifts were detected, so I came to talk about offering him a place at the school."

Jennifer and Jameson's expressions shifted from concern to surprise. "Extraordinary abilities?" Jameson echoed.

Xavier nodded. "Yes Kieran is what a mutant is, his abilities beyond those of ordinary humans. I would like to help him control his gifts."

Jennifer hesitated, processing the information. "Kieran is actually on a Pokémon journey right now. Who knows how he'll be away or even if he will stay long enough before setting on on another journey he quite set on becoming an Elite Four member or gym leader."

Charles nodded. "I understand children his age are eager to follow their dreams, but when he returns let him know my offer stands for him to join the Xavier's School and will be more than willing to help him learn to control his gifts."
