K-Contest: Kpop's Tune in for Love [WINNER]

Prompt #2: Your bias and you have been friends with each other since high school days and now both of you are even attending the same university. Although you have liked them for a long time, you haven't had the chance to confess your love yet, which is something you want to change this Valentine's Day.

Write a love letter inspired by your favorite Kpop love song to your bias based on that prompt with your own title.

My dearest Chanyeol,
I still clearly remember the moment you walked into Baekhyun's party, wearing that blue trench coat. You were smiling ear-to-ear and absolutely lit up the room with your contagious laughter. I immediately knew that I had to meet you. I went to the bathroom to try and summon up my courage and to think of what to say. But it was no use; I was tongue-tied when I approached you. I was smitten from the very start; how did you do that?

One day, you were just a good-looking guy every girl talks about. The next day, I found myself staring at you like abandoned piano waiting to be played. And the next thing I know, I find pieces of you in every song I listen to.
All through high school, I wandered around you shyly. Watching you from afar became my favorite hobby. We'd never exchanged a proper word but still, it felt like you were an old friend. Someone who knows all my darkest secrets, my flaws. Like our hearts live in the same space. Yet, I told myself to bury this temptation in the treasure vaults of my heart, thinking you were just another figment of my unfulfilled wishes that will fade with time.
I was wrong.

I still remember the way my heart fluttered out of control seeing your handsome face on the first day of University. To say that I was overjoyed to have you as a classmate would be an understatement. And your eyes, oh where do I start? The warmth in your chestnut eyes is like a magnet. It lures me in, makes me want to stare in those orbs all day long, and never get bored. I was abducted by emotions that I couldn't even name. I found out that you were friendly, charming, confident, and bubbly, I'm going to run out of words to describe you if I start. 

We became closer and closer every day and the more I got to know you, the more I regretted not reaching out earlier. You felt like a jigsaw piece I've been searching for my whole life. I love how you laugh and your ability to find humor in everything. You are always there; in my memories and ruling inside the tallest, strongest walls of my heart, dwelling in my thoughts and fantasies evermore like a beautiful plague that I don't want to get rid of. You fill me to the brim with the feeling of being cherished and wanted. 

Remember when you skipped a whole day of classes to look after me when I got a fever? That day, I realized that maybe you cared about me the same way I did. Chanyeol, you might not have realized but I know about all of your moods more than I know mine. I know your favorite songs, even the playlists you hide; I learned all those songs by heart. So what are you waiting for? I want to be yours; morning, noon, and night, I want to be yours. But sometimes your ignorance towards my feelings amuses me, and on the other, it frustrates me. Wondering if you'll ever like me makes me impatient. But the wait is worth it if, in the end, I'm yours.

But Chanyeol, ever since this friendship started, I feel so full of my love for you that I don't want to hide it anymore. You are the cause behind the radiance on my face, the ever-present smile I carry so proudly. I am filled with a newfound strength to tell you how I feel. This letter can either lead to any of these things: A beginning or an ending. So today, lock me in your deep eyes and whisper to me without words, 'I love you too'; our story is beyond mere words.

Telling you about my love is not easy, so I write this letter today because I'm a coward who is brave enough to tell you that I'm done admiring you from distance. Because decades can pass and your smile will always make me weak in the knees. Because even after years, it's still you. It's always you.
