⚔ The Right Way ⚔

In shock, Corin's hand dropped from covering Kallm's. Her heart skipped a beat as she gazed at his face. He still wanted this? Corin's cheeks burned red and she ducked her head.

"Kallm, I "

"Ofcourse Corin, it will only be to bring Kayana and Vodia together again."

Corin felt her stomach drop as what Kallm was saying settled within her. He wanted to use their wedding as a ruse to bring his brother and Kayana together again. Corin searched Kallm's face, she wanted to say no, she knew she should say no. This is not how I want to be married. This is not the life I chose for myself. Corin's mind was running wild, and she opened her mouth to decline Kallm's offer when his thumb stroked her cheek.

"Please Corin." He whispered at her, his breath fanning her face.

But she did owe him. Corin realised that this may be her only chance to truly make everything okay. To ask for forgiveness from both her brother and her sister. And maybe even Kallm.

Corin nodded solemnly and her hand dropped from Kallm's.

Kallm could see the dejected look on her face, and as much as he didn't want to admit it, he felt the loss of her warmth on him deep inside. He had truly been falling for her. Why did it have to be his Lavender?

Standing abruptly, Kallm turned on his toes towards the door. Running his hands through his hair, Kallm once again went over his options in his head. Was this really the right way for him to do it? Would his father be disappointed in him? This was never how he had ever planned to propose, especially not to his Lavender.

He felt a timid hand reach for his waist and he turned around, his chest coming to face Corin's downcast eyes. She looked up at him and slowly leaned in, resting her head on him. Kallm could feel himself melting, he knew he'd always care for her. She was his to care for. Sighing, Kallm finally brought his arms around her, settling them on her waist as he put his chin on her head. He didn't know if he could ever forgive her, but he knew they were partners now, so he had to put some of his anger aside.

"I know Kallm, that this is hard for you. I know you hate me."

As Kallm went to object, Corin shook her head, and he stopped.

"I know you won't forgive me. I won't forgive myself. But thank you." Corin lifted her head to look up at Kallm.

"Thank you for giving me the chance to make things right."

At that moment Corin's scarf fell off her head and Kallm saw his Lavender. Her blonde hair fell around her and her eyes shimmered with tears that made Kallm swallow because he knew they were because of him.

Kallm could do nothing more than smile and nod at her. He wished it didn't have to be this way, but his main aim now was to make his brother happy again. Even if that meant losing the love of his life.

Coercing her back into his arms, Kallm once again laid his cheek against Corin's head. He just wanted to hold her.

Lirat was reaching to flip the open sign to closed when she felt someone come up behind her.

Turning around, she offered a sombre looking Kallm a gracious smile. He returned the gesture and made a move to leave before Lirat placed her hand on his arm. Like she knew he would, Kallm stop immediately and turned to her.

"What is wrong beta? Are you okay?"

Kallm smiled down at the woman who had looked after him for the past few weeks. Kneeling, Kallm took both Lirat's hands in his.

"Aunty ji, I am fine. But I do believe Corin will need you right now."

Kallm offered a final smile, before patting her hands and leaving. He made sure to lock the door from the inside before he left, an action that left Lirat unknowingly sad.

Corin's hand landed on her shoulder and Lirat placed hers on top.

"What happened beti?"

"I'm getting married aunty ji."

"What?"

By the time Lirat had turned her wheelchair around, Corin had already retreated to the other end of the store and began cleaning.

Had Lirat heard right? Were Corin and Kallm getting married?

She had to tell her brother about this.
