Chapter 1
⚔ The Right Way ⚔

"How could you Corin? I thought I had taught you better than that!"
Corin couldn't look up. She could not bring herself to actually see the disappointment she could sense in her fathers eyes.
She hadn't meant for this to happen.
"Look at Raian, Corin. Look at your brother."
Corin looked to her left and saw her brother sitting on the settee, his head in his hands as his shoulders shook slowly. She immediately looked away. She can't believe that she had done this. She had ruined her own brothers chance at happiness.
Corin stood, twisting her hands. Tears streamed down her face but she knew that she shouldn't be crying. She had no right.
Corin was angry at herself.
Ionido strode across in front of her. His heavy steps strong yet silent. Corin knew she would take whatever punishment he gave.
She was a bad person.
"Corin."
She looked up, yet not looking at his eyes.
"Ji Pita Ji."
"You will go to Kayana's wedding. And right after, you will be sent to Phaer. You will live with your aunt until I see fit."
All Corin could do was nod as she turned to pack.
She deserved this.
——————————-
"Hello?"
The voice infront her snapped Corin out of her reverie and she turned to face them. Absentmindedly she pulled the rag out from the side of her skirt and began wiping the counter infront of her.
"Hi Mrs. Kren. How are the boys today?" Corin asked politely, whilst ringing up the items the elderly woman had brought up. It seemed to be the weekly shopping, and Corin appreciated the friendly chat.
"Oh dear Corin, they are a handful, as always. But I do love them." Mrs. Kren finished, a loving smile on her face as she fanned herself with a hand.
Corin smiled at her as she bagged a loaf of bread and a few cans of soup. The Kren family weren't very rich, but they were lovely, and so Corin tried to help where she could. Slyly, she changed the total from ten dollars to seven, smiling as she was handed coins.
"I'm sorry for handing you coins dear, but Mr Kren hasn't been getting much business lately. The tour business has really gone down."
Corin shook her head as she took the change.
"It's definitely not a problem Mrs Kren, but do bring the boys down some day soon, a new batch of their favourite lollipops have just arrived in. I need them to taste test them." Corin winked at the end to let Mrs Kren know that she was being friendly.
Mrs Kren simply laughed and confirmed that she would bring her sons in before leaving, a smile on her chubby face.
Corin smiled to herself as she continued wiping.
Ever since the day she had been sent to live with her aunty, Corin had taken up working at the small shop that her aunty owned. Living alone, her aunty had developed quite a few health problems, so Corin hadn't minded helping her out.
Her day usually started with doing the more taxing housework before coming to the store, and then finishing up after work. But Corin enjoyed it. It kept her busy.
She didn't want to think about why she was there. But it kept creeping up on her.
It had been six months since her father had sent her here. Six months that her mistake had plagued her. She wondered how Kayana and Vodia had been, and Raian, but she had no way of reaching them.
Corin sighed, but knew she could do another from here.
Moving around the counter top, Corin moved to the shelves, picking up materials that had been placed in the wrong place. She hummed lightly to herself as she moved around the store.
Calming herself down enough to understand she couldn't do anything allowed Corin to move on with her day, atleast until the next time.
⚔ The Right Way ⚔
"Kallm, beta, make sure you call as soon as you get there." Madden Lakin reminded his son.
Unlike his eldest, Vodia, Kallm had never followed the rules and relied on being reminded by his father. Though Madkun didn't mind.
"Ji, Pita ji." Kallm replied, putting down his camera as he wrapped the cord around its bottom.
He landed one hand on his youngest son's shoulder and laughed, his mirth shaking his whole body. "Enjoy yourself beta, not many get the same opportunity as you do."
Kallm put one hand on his father's and smiled back at him. He loved his father and knew that after what had happened with his brother his father had become slightly more subdued. But nothing could put out the light that embodied his soul.
"Yes Kallm, make sure you take lots of pictures."
"Oh, you may have to remind me, Bhaiya!" Kallm joked back, turning to face his brother who had just emerged from his room carrying a tripod.
Vodia stopped to twist Kallm's ear, to which he was given a loud chuckle before he shortened the stand, placing it into Kallm's camera bag and laughed along with the rest of his family. Though his heart was still heavy from losing Kayana, his mind was at peace that he had done his duty, and he would now live his life knowing he had respected his relationship with his wife.
Walking forward, Vodia hugged his brother, pulling him in tight and clapping his back. Through all the tough times, his brother was always there for him and he knew that should the need arise, he would give his all for him too.
Stepping back, Vodia smiled at his younger brother and grabbed Kallm's suitcase, knowing he preferred to carry his camera bag on his own.
Kallm was on his way to Phaer, a land that was renowned for it's beautiful mountains and scenery and he had been the lucky one to be chosen to complete his assignment there. The country was West to Kairya and it would take four hours travelling in flight to get there. But he knew it would all be worth it in the end.
Smiling in thanks, Kallm zipped up his bag and took a final look around his home. Though he was only going for a photography assignment, he knew he would miss his family the most. Grasping his side bag, Kallm heard the faint chime of the earring he had attached to his bag and smiled. He was also hoping to find his Lavender.
He had heard she had moved to Phaer after his brother's wedding and he was on a mission to find her. He swore he would get a picture of her. She had stolen his heart, and now he would steal hers.
He had no idea why she had moved and why it was so sudden, but he was committed to finding out and he knew he would. He would surely find her.
Kallm run his hand through his brown hair once before waving at his father and following his brother out to his car.
The sun hit Kallm's brown eyes and made them sparkle with the determination that he had previously been awarded for and he looked up, saying a silent and quick prayer before saying goodbye to his home.
He knew he would be successful.
Oh, and he would also pass his photography assignment.
