All I saw was a flash. A flash of light and then darkness. Black, just black. All color was drained from sight. I couldn't see anything, but I felt pain. Pain everywhere. Blinding pain, the kind that felt like thousands of little knives were puncturing my skin on every inch of my body. It was paralyzing pain. I couldn't move anything, so I just lay there, my mind drifting off between states of consciousness. I wondered what happened, and where I was, and what was going on. I knew I was hurt, and I had to be helped soon, but there was nothing I could do, so I just lay there, in the rubble around me, staring into the darkness.
