Jade slid her hand onto Roy's bent elbow. "Thanks for not hating me, Babe."

He kissed her. "I could never hate you. You ready for dinner? You look gorgeous." (A/N Will insert pic later, it wasn't loading and my phone was gonna die, soooo...) 

"Thanks. You know, this used to be my mother's. She gave it to me. I must say, it's weird to picture my mother when she was my age. Granted, she was engaged to my dad already, and I most am not engaged to you, but it's weird."

"I thought your dad is seven years older than your mom. Isn't that borderline pedophilia or something?"

"It was like 1981. My mother wasn't from the U.S.A.. People didn't really care. They were both adults at that point. Plus, she'd probably already have been married if she still lived in Vietnam. It wasn't really wrong."

"I know, it just sounds kinda gross."

"It does, I guess. I grew up with them, though, so it never bothered me. Still doesn't really, if I'm being honest."

"I guess that's fair." The young couple arrived at the restaurant. As they ate, Roy brought up the subject they'd been subtly avoiding. "Why'd you leave Ny-Artemis in the first place?"

"I thought that she'd slow me down. I figured that our father wouldn't hurt her too bad, but y'know I have a twisted idea of what 'too bad' is. It was a stupid decision though, and I regret it every day. I'm a horrible sister."

"You aren't a horrible sister."

Jade looked at him in disbelief. 

"You regret what you did to her, and you want to make it right. You just feel like you were too late. But, Jade, you can still try to fix your relationship with her. If she doesn't want to, then she doesn't want to, but at least you tried."

"How do I even try?"

"Start with an explanation. Then apologize. Get her side of the story. Just TALK to each other. It will help, I swear." He took her hands in his. "You're an amazing person, Jade. If you wanna try to fix things with your sister, then go ahead and try. The worst you can do is not succeed. TRY Jade. Promise me you'll try."

Jade gave him a grateful smile. "I will."

Roy paid the bill and lead her outside. They walked around the beach outside the cave for a few minutes, enjoying the sound of the waves and the light of the stars. "I love you Jade."

"I love you, too, Roy." She brought her lips against his, and they kissed, and everything was perfect.
