*JANE'S POV*

How can it be...
There on the ground was a dusty trapdoor and some large boxes scattered around it. 

To me, it seemed like someone forgot to cover the door with the boxes and there was also a disgusting smell, it felt like something was rotting inside and it's smell was coming through the door.

I looked around but there was no one except all those boxes. Who would leave a trapdoor with a foul smell uncovered like this?   

"Eww." Mary groaned in absolute disgust as she eyed the scene in front of us then looked at us, "let's get out of here." She said.

"Yeah, it must be the storage room or something, let's go," I said.

"No, it must be something interesting...look there are so many boxes to hide it", Jacqueline said.

"J...come on let's go from here." I said grabbing her hand and trying to drag her away from there but in vain, God! What the hell does this girl eat?

"No, lets see here and there maybe we will find something interesting," she said yanking her hand away and went towards the opposite direction.

"JACQUELINE you come here and go with us!!" I yelled at her and Mary started giggling.

Just then we heard footsteps coming from the trapdoor and ran away from there.

"Are we far enough?" I asked, huffing.

"I think so," answered Mary.

"Jane, the museum has opened. Let's go." Jacqueline pointed towards the door of the museum and dragged us in.

We entered the museum...

I was awestruck, it was so beautiful. I forgot all about what happened just a few minutes ago and started to explore.

We saw all types of paintings and they were all beautiful.

After a while, we went to the cafeteria, while I grabbed some drinks, Mary and Jac were saving a table for us. Mary waved at me and I went to the table.

Some time later, I looked at my watch it was almost time for lunch so we decided to leave

Jacqueline said, "Hey, I'll be back in a minute"

"But where are you going?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, "Don't you dare goof around."

"I am going to find a washroom, now can you let me go 'miss', I'll be back in a minute, ok??"

"Shall I go with you?"

"Nope"

"Ok but come back fast"

"Yes ma'am" She saluted and ran away laughing.

Me and Mary started talking about random things and that led to a staring contest. We ended up laughing our heads off.

We started to get worried, my eyes glued to the direction she went, what the heck is taking her so damn long? Jacqueline was gone for half an hour and hadn't returned. Me and Mary split up to find her.

We came back after 5 minutes. She was nowhere to be found. I started to panic, my heart kept pounding against my ribcage thinking that I should have stopped her. I chew on my nails, my feet tapping rapidly against the marble floor. Tears were stinging my eyes as I picked up my phone to call her. Suddenly it started ringing, it was Jacqueline. I picked it up.

"Hey J! Where are are you? Do you know how worried we were." I said at the verge of  crying.

"Jane! Co...come to the first floor." her voice was quivery.

"Wh...what happened? tell me." I was really scared.

"Come to the first floor fast and bring someone with you." she shouted, sobbing.

"Yeah yeah I am coming but tell me what happened."

"Stop asking questio...mmphhhh"

"J...Jacqueline? Hello? what happened?"

There was no answer. 

A cold sweat formed on my back. I turned towards Mary, "Call the police!"

She looked at me, "Jane what happened?" She was biting her lips to keep herself from crying right then and there, "Who's call was it?"

"We don't have time for this. Call the police and come with me." I started running towards the stairs, she was just behind me talking to the police saying it's an emergency. 

I told Mary what happened. I saw a group of people surrounding something. "She looks so young." someone said, "yeah, it looks terrible." said the person beside him. I felt my body tremble.

Please be safe. Please. Please don't let it be true.

I squeezed in through all the people.

I froze. What I saw there brought shivers to me, tears started streaming down my cheeks. No no no, this can't happen. My legs gave up. The only thing that came out of my mouth was,"aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh"
