Chapter XVI

{Percy}
(Author's note: I am going to start doing the POVs for some chapters. This chapter is from the Point Of View of Percy)

Since Piper was pretty much in charge of the boat, she decided to give everyone a job to make sure the boat didn't Argo II, or in other words, get destroyed.

I, being the Poseidon kid, was in-charge of making sure there were no waves that were going to tip the boat over or anything. Everyone else got jobs based on their special abilities too. Like for example, Jason was the weather man. He was in charge of clearing the sky of storms and stuff like that. The only problem was, we didn't have Annabeth with us. She usually was the one who was in charge of everything and knew which ways to go that would keep us away from harm or lead us to the right path. The crew was really quiet and kinda lost without Annabeth. Not only was she basically our captain, but she was apart of our family. Like sure, we would all try to lighten the mood and make a few jokes now an then, but they would soon die out and the room was left silent with a dazed look on everyone's faces.

I had my hand hanging over the boat with my finger tips brushing the cold salt water. My chin was resting on the edge of the boat. I was so relaxed, the relaxation made me realize that i didn't even sleep last night. I decided that i have been too hard on myself and took advantage of this comfort. So just like that, i was asleep.

I guess i wasn't asleep long, because when i woke it was still morning, about the same time it was when i went to sleep. The weird thing was, it felt i like slept too much. Weird.

I walked over to the front of the boat and as soon as i did, the smell made me wanna hurl. Something must've been on fire because there was a think, black, layer of smoke that blocked me from seeing anything. The weirdest part was, as soon as i saw it, the smoke was gone almost instantly.

It was like it had just vanished into the morning sky. It felt like I was still sleeping, because everything just kept getting stranger and stranger as I looked around more. For one, the ocean was as still as a dead body, and the boat was no longer in motion. I couldn't heard any sound, not even the regular swoosh sound the waves always make. I then moved up and what I saw made my stomach do a 180. At the front of the boat, all of my friend were passed out over the deck with bloody mouths, noses, and cuts and bruises everywhere. I was about to reach for my pocket to pull out Riptide, but as soon as my hand was on Riptide, i was flung forward by a mysterious force. The impact of my chest to the metal railing on the front of the boat made me cough up some blood. I was sprawled out on the floor unable to control any of my movements just as i heard a loud woosh and i was thrown to the other side of the dock, this time i was pinned against the wall like some invisible force was pushing me up against it. I looked around for some sign of my attacker but it was no use. There was nothing there. I heard a loud echoing cackle which sounded like creepy witch laughter. The sound stopped echoing when i heard the laughter less than a foot away from me.

Right in front of my face there was a cloud of smoke. The smoke got in my face which made me rub my eyes and i coughed. When my vision cleared, i kinda wish it was blurry again because low and behold, standing in front of me was the ugliest, shriveled up, nastiest thing i have ever seen in my life. I have seen it before but the sight of it now was ten times uglier than before. Just looking at it made me want to hurl up my stomach.

I looked it dead and the eyes and snarled, "Alkyls." I struggled to get loose of her grip. It felt like invisible hands were holding down my wrists and ankles. I tried with every will to get loose, just so I could kill her or die trying over what she did to Annabeth. I don't care what the consequences were, if Alkyls or anyone killed me or not, I just wanted her dead... or at least so hurt she wouldn't be able to reheal.

I couldn't get my arms free so i went for the next best strategy, Riptide. Since i graduated high school, i started keeping Riptide in my shirt pocket incase of situations like getting my hands tied or, like this, where i get shoved against a wall by an unknown force. I reached my head down to grab Riptide with my mouth, but i ended up just biting down on air instead. "What the..." I mumbled to myself. Why isn't Riptide in my pocket?

"Looking for this?" Alkyls smirked as she pulled the pen from the inside of her coat. "Yeah, it was on the floor when you fell, i had a small feeling your wouldn't be needing it at the moment."

"What do you want from me Alkyls? You already took everything I had. What's next? You're going to kill me?" I laughed sarcastically. "I would love to see you try, I would tear you to pieces before you lay a finger on me."

Alkyls smile shrank, then she continued "With what? Oh, you mean this pen?" She asked rhetorically. She then walked over to the edge of the boat before she used a quick motion of her wrist to move it back, then forth, and Riptide was no longer in her boney hand, but at the bottom of the ocean. "Now," she said, and she rubbed her hands together. "Where were we?"
