How the hell could they possibly be catching onto Hikari that quick. No wait, maybe they were just checking out everyone's background in the task force. I did find out that Hikari's adoptive father was apart of the task force.

Even if they are just doing background checks. I need to cause another problem for them to handle. So they won't focus on Hikari.

I run to my laptop and open it. I went to a website they set up for Sakura TV. I emailed the producer.

"Sakura TV. I am Kira. I am back. And I am killing criminals again. If you don't believe this. Change to channel 23. In 2 minutes the host will die from a heart attack."

Mogi and I just finished the movie after 2 hours. It was good, but the end made me tear a bit.

Mogi's phone starts to ring.

I look at him. He looks from the phone to me. "Work?" I ask. He sighs and nods, answering.

But the person on the other line is yelling.

"Woah! Matsuda, calm down!"

Matsuda.

Mogi is on the phone with Matsuda.

"What?" Mogi goes serious. I've never seen him like this, he quickly turns to me, "Hikari! Put on Sakura TV! Quick!"

I quickly put on Sakura TV, what had them so panicked?

I hear on the other end of the phone, "They're talking about Kira!" Mogi hangs up and we both watch the TV.

A lot of people are watching. They have a viewing count at the bottom. I'd say that's half of Japan. They are talking about kira?

"We just received an email from an unknown person. Claiming to be Kira"

What?! "Mogi, what is this?" Mogi looks at me, "Hikari, just listen and watch."

"The email reads," the email pops up on screen, "Sakura TV. I am Kira. I am back. And I am killing criminals again." There are 2 people hosting Sakura TV right now.

Call Sakura TV!

The other person hosting starts to speak, "This can't be real. It's been 16 years."

Sakura TV wont answer!!
Get them to answer!
We need to stop this broadcast!

"This 'Kira' has proof"

What?

"The email reads, if we do not believe them to go to channel 23. The host there, will die from a heart attack 2 minutes from now."

Go to channel 23! Now!
Channel 23!

"Hikari! Switch Channels!"

I did as Mogi said and switched to 23. There is no way this is real. I didn't do this.

Unless...

A second Kira?!

This is the same way mom exposed herself, right?!

Everyone is now watching 23.

Longest 2 minutes in my life.

A minute left.

....

"Gah!" The person hosting the show groans, and grabbed their shirt, where their heart would be. "Oh my!"

"Mogi.." I'm speechless. This is really happening. There is a second Kira.

"Hikari. Turn off the TV" I do as Mogi told me. And I turn off the TV. The screen fading to black, where the only thing you see, is our reflection.

The screen. Where we witnessed someone die. Now just us.

Call Sakura TV, Aizawa. Now.
Matsuda. Call Mogi.

Ryuk chuckles from behind me. "Looks like you got yourself a second one, Hikari. What are you gonna do now?"

Who..who could it be?

Will they try to reach out to me and meet me? Like mom did?

"Hikari..please go upstairs.."

I slowly walk away. Walking up the stairs and into my bedroom. I plop down on the bed and sit there.

Did that really just happen?

I get a notification on my phone.

Kessaku.

"Hikari. Did you see that on the news?"

"I did. Crazy"

"Looks like Kira came back after all."

"yeah."

"K. Talk to you tomorrow."

"bye"

Why did Kessaku message me after that?

I messaged Hikari after.

He didn't get it.

This is like trying to give hints to your crush.

Except, I'm trying to give hints to him. That I am the second Kira.

And he's not getting it.

Maybe I should.. straight up tell him.

I walk out my bedroom. Passing my family in the living room.

"Oh dear! Where are you headed off to??! After that news incident! It's not safe!" My father is to protective. Mom is more chill.

"I'm just going to visit someone. I'll be safe."

I continue walking.

I exit my home and walk a few minutes.

After 10 minutes I finally get there.

I walk down a concrete pathway.

I decided to go out. I have killed more than 100 people in the last 2 days. I think I should be fine not to kill for a few.

I'm walking somewhere. I don't know why I'm going there.

I haven't been there for a while.

I finally get there after maybe 12 minutes.

Walking down a concrete pathway.

I'm in the cemetery.

I'm passing so many graves. So many deaths.

And do I feel sad at all? No.

Something has changed in me since I got the death note. I feel.. different.

I pass a grave.

I feel the need to look at it. Why? I have never felt the need to look at it before. Why now? Who's grave is it?

I turn and read the name.

"L Lawliet"

L .. Lawliet?

So familiar.

I continue walking. I'm going to my parents graves.

I look up. Someone is already there.

Kessaku?

"What.. what are you doing here, Kessaku?"

She looks up from the graves, and looks at me. "Oh, Hikari. Hello." She didn't answer my question, "Kessaku, why are you at my parents grave?"

She looks back down at them, "I just wanted to visit them. Thank them for.. giving justice to my grandparents." She sighs, "Do you think...do you think, they would be proud of Kira? Would they be proud that someone wants to carry out their legacy?"

I hesitate, but nod, "I think they would."

Ryuk beside me chuckles.

"Hikari. How would you react if someone close to you, was Kira?" What? Why is she asking this?

"I'm not sure." I think before answering, "My guardian is a cop. And my father was Kira. I feel like my answer would be forced"

She nods.

"Thank you for talking. You can visit them now" she gives me a sweet smile, before walking off.

That's the first time I saw her smile.

And we were talking about Kira.
