Third Person POV

When Amanda got home, she looked for her dad right away. She went straight to her dad's private den knowing that that was where she was going to find him.

She knocked briefly before opening the door and walking in. Her dad was talking to someone on his phone.

Amanda plopped down on the soft luxurious couch on one side of the room and waited patiently for her dad to finish his conversation with whoever it was he was talking to. As usual her dad was talking business and the stock market.

Her dad was a very shrewd businessman who was always looking for opportunities to expand his business even if it meant making another company go out of business, even if that company might belong to a friend, like Perth's father. And then again, when it came to business there was no such thing as friendship or blood relations, at least where it concerned her father.

As soon as her father ended his phone call, Amanda jumped up from the couch and flung herself into her doting father's arms.

"And how's my little princess doing?" Amanda's father asked after planting a kiss on his daughter's forehead.

"I just came from visiting Perth at the hospital," Amanda replied.

"Perth in the hospital?" her father asked in surprise. "What was he in the hospital for?"

"He got involved in a car crash," Amanda replied, "nothing too serious. He could be discharged in a day or two."

"So it seems like you're interested in him again," Amanda's father said in a thoughtful tone of voice, as if already planning ahead about how he could use Amanda and Perth to expand his business even more.

"Not all that interested," Amanda remarked, "but enough for me to want to date him again."

"So what is stopping you from dating him?" Amanda's father asked, surprised that Amanda would even come to him about a simple issue like dating his friend's son, a very good looking son he had to admit.

"Well...... there's the matter of Saint," Amanda said with a little girl pout.

"And who is Saint?" Amanda's father started to get curious.

"Saint is the guy to whom Perth just recently got married," Amanda replied, not letting go of her pout.

"You do realize, my little princess, that in this country, there is no such thing as marriage between two men, right?" Amanda's father said, giving his daughter a light pinch on her dainty little chin.

Amanda's eyes widened in happy realization that she could break up Perth and Saint's relationship without getting into any trouble.

"So, Dad, how's your business expansion plan going? Will it not run right counter to Perth's family's business?" Amanda asked, giving her father a playful but malicious wink.

"It can go two ways, my lovely princess," her father replied. "It can collapse on its knees once I'm out there in the market, or......" Amanda's father made a dramatic pause making Amanda shake her father's shoulders.

"Go on, Dad, go on, I can't wait to hear the rest of your plans," Amanda urged her father.

"Or... I could approach Signor Tanapon and... broach the topic of a merger of two hearts and two companies," Amanda's father completed his sentence in a dramatic tone of voice.

Amanda started wiping off imaginary tears from her eyes.

"But I'm not prepared, Father," she said in a mock wailing voice, "I'm not prepared to give my body and soul to that sexy, gorgeous, hot hunk of a man!"

"Well, sweet pea, just let me know whenever you are ready," her father said just as a soft knock was heard on the door and a male servant opened it to announce that dinner was ready.

Joss' POV

It had been more than a day since I had met Saint at the gym but I still hadn't received any call from him. Of course there was no reason for me to expect any call from him. I was just hoping that maybe he thought that I could be a good friend to him. He had given me the impression of being a nice and friendly and pleasant young man. I had the feeling that we could hit it off if we gave ourselves a chance.

I must admit that I have been making regular visits to the gym not just to keep in shape but also with the hope of meeting someone who could be a good friend and eventually more than a good friend.

My boyfriend had broken off with me more than a year ago and I had recently begun healing. I made sure not to get involved with anyone while my heart was still hurting. If I was going to get involved with anyone it would be because I truly liked the person for himself and not because I was just trying to fill a void.

I made my way to the gym hoping to see Saint again but no such luck.

After my workout, I made my way to the shower room, cursing myself for realizing belatedly that I had given him my calling card but had not exchanged numbers with him. If I had his number I could have called him and made some excuse to ask him out.

I grimaced a little when I lowered myself into the driver's seat of my car. I had overdone my leg workouts again and was feeling the pain especially on my right leg.

I decided to make a quick trip to the nearest pharmacy.

"Joss!"

I shook my head in disbelief. I had been dreaming too much of Saint to the point of hallucinating that he was walking towards me in the parking lot of the mini plaza where the pharmacy was located.

"You don't remember me, Joss?" Saint asked, extending his hand to me when he reached me.
