Jenna's sister in her quiet tone said to Adam "don't cry she would have wanted you to be happy and have nibbles" so she handed him nibbles the hamster and he placed it in his top pocket like Jenna used to do and then the quiet sister scooped up the hysterical Adam off of the floor and then they made it through the school day like nothing had happened and Adam went home and whispered to himself in a testy tone "my parents aren't dead they just do a lot of dog races" as if talking to someone dead but he was determined to not let his girlfriends death bring him down so he sat down with Jack and strokes him for a while remembering the good times he had with Jenna.
