Denial
Bright sticky red liquid pooled around his fallen knees. His mouth fell open in disbelief and he looked at his blood covered hands. "I-I..this..this isn't happening!? Nonononononon...this wasn't suppose to happen! I didn't do this! Pleasepleasepleaseplease...."
Anger
He punched the red covered concrete in anger and confusion. He felt a hand lay on his shoulder. Eyes widening, he launched forward, away from the cold hand. He pointed his finger at the man. "YOU! YOU MADE ME DO THIS! YOU-YOU MONSTER!"
Bargaining
The man looked at him, his one eye clouded with boredom. "You stupid kid. I may have made you do this, but I didn't pull the trigger. The only monster I see here...is you." He dropped to the ground, looking back at his hands and the gun that laid beside him, discarded after the deed was completed. "Nonononono, help me..please. Don't make this happen again! Kill me please...pleasepleaseplease...I'll do anything, just don't let me live through this again.."
"No. You are still of use to me."
Depression
Tears ran down his flushed cheeks. His red swollen eyes were shut and covered by his still blood covered hands, but now the crimson liquid had dried and crusted on his cuticles, nails, and fingers. Sometimes it'd flake and crumble to the cement. He did say anything as he sobbed and gasped for air. The man had taken this time to call for transport.
"Fdoolqj irv wudqvsruw, Uhg Ohdghu VLA." The man waited for a bit.
A voice on the other line finally responded after a few minutes, "Diilupdwlyh, wudqvsruw fv vq wkh zdb, Uhg Ohdghu."
As they waited, he curled up into a small ball, his hands still covering his face and Tear tracks covering the surface. He mumbled to himself, almost incoherently, "I don't deserve to live. Nonononono." He violently shook and the man placed a hand on his side (quite roughly might I add).
"Get over it, this is your job now."
Acceptance
He slowly unfurled from his ball, unclasping his hands from his face, and looking up at his 'leader'. His eyebrows furrowed and he whimpered, "why-why do you do this to me?"
His leader looked down at him, his one eye gaze striking through him, "because you have no one else other than me, I own you now. Accept this life, there's so use in crying." He sniffled and slowly sat up, his gaze lowering to the ground. Then, he smiled. He smiled with Insanity and nodded. He may not have been in the right mind, but he still agreed. He took the cold red metal hand, which had been outstretched to him, and stood beside his leader.
He looked up with his void eyes as the sound of helicopter blades rushed over them. He tilted his head, and turned toward his leader. "That's our transport back to the base." He nodded, now ignoring the dried flaky blood, and walked over to the landing helicopter. He would have to learn this new life style, whether in a right mind or not.
"Welcome home, Thomas."

DABDA is short for Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. This is the five stages of grief, also know as The Kübler-Ross Model. This means, when a person goes through a traumatic event (e.g. committing a murder, divorce, etc. etc.) in their life, they go through stages. Also, something one stage will pass onto another. Like, Denial will sometimes mix in with Anger or Depression.
First they go through Denial. They don't believe what is happening, is actually happening. They deny that whatever has happened, didn't. This is the best way I can explain this stage to you, but if you'd like an example (or an example of any stage), just comment with a traumatic event you'd like me to write, and I'll find time to do it.
Then after denying it, the person grows angry. They are angry at what happened to them, or someone. They lash out and their minds cloud with anger and all they can think of is denying this.
The next stage is bargaining. This one is kind of hard to explain (but it's also self-explanatory). The person tries to bargain there way through this. They think if they bargain correctly, they can either get that thing back (like in a divorce) or might never have to live through it (again).
The second to last stage is Depression. This is also self-explanatory. When that bargain fails, they grow sad/depressed. They can't live anymore, and sometimes this ends up to suicide (but I don't think this is often).
The last stage: Acceptance. When they overcome all the other stages, they accept whatever has happen to them and they move on. They cross that bridge and experience life once again.
Sometimes, people stay stuck a stage and it can take years, maybe days to overcome DABDA. Though, whether it be Depression or Anger, they can leave that stage and move on. Also, people don't always go through this exact order. Sometime they might go through Anger, then Denial, or Depression. I just want to make this clear, am I no way a professional. Definitely not. So, if you'd like to learn more, there are a few videos (which is where I did my research) and a link to an article which I'll put below. I really hope you enjoyed this chapter.

This one may not seem like it, but this does have to do majorly with the Kübler-Ross model.
