Chapter 1: It All Starts Here

He was swinging from building to building. He was hanging on his webs that shot out from his suit as he hummed to himself. The day was, he would say, okay. It was fairly okay with a bit of mishap here and there.

He could still hear the voice of the robber who he had caught stealing from the bank before sending him to jail with the police. It happened on the first set of his lookout.

"You're nothing but a villain! Your heroes are nothing but villains! You go around and try to act brave but when people need you the most you aren't there!"

He could hear the voice shout at him as he was being detained.

"You think you go around saving people? Ha! Don't make me laugh! You don't do shit!"

He still couldn't get it out of his mind despite knowing what the man said wasn't true. Heroes aren't omnipotent that they could save everyone or be there when someone needs help.

They were human beings despite having powers.

Sure, they have powers so what? It was up to that person if they wanted to become a hero or a villain. They choose for themselves.

And yet, despite this kind of thinking, he still couldn't shake off the feeling of being a villain, of being someone who couldn't do anything despite everything that's happening.

...

Peter soon reached his apartment and entered from the window in his room. He was tired he had saved people from a burning building while heading home. The young boy had saved almost everyone but two, a child was now without a parent because he was late.

Had he been in his right mind, he would have gotten change before going out of his room. His regeneration ability had taken care of the smoke he had breathed earlier but it couldn't heal him emotionally and mentally.

That was why he hadn't taken off his suit despite being inside the house.

He then raised both his arms up as he looked at the only person inside the small apartment he rested in.

His aunt and practically mother, May, had found out he was Spiderman,

He had a plan to reveal it but he didn't want to do it this way. No, he wanted it to be formal despite him being scared.

"Are you hurt?"

May asked as she went towards Peter and wiped the dust that had gathered on his cheek. He then shook his head and stared at his aunt before opening his mouth.

"I'm Spiderman?"

It was more of a question than a statement.

His aunt chuckled at his panicked expression before placing her hand on his shoulder and pulled him in for a hug. He was confused as to why she did this. Shouldn't she push him away or something?

But she didn't.

She only said three words to him.

"It's hard, right?"

He didn't know why or how but he had started crying. He hugged his aunt and sobbed into her shoulder. It was loud, ugly, but at the same time, it was sad.

She could tell that he was tired and that was because she was his aunt. She was someone who spent her time with him despite not being her own son.

"It's alright, I'm here for you."

And it seemed that that was all Peter needed for him to finally break down.

...

He was soon sitting on the couch, fresh and cleaned after taking a bath and changing clothes.

"You knew about it?"

He asked her and she let out a giggle as Peter didn't expect her to know about it.

"It was more of a hunch, think of it as a guess."

She then smiled at him and watched him drink the hot chocolate she made for him before speaking.

"I mean, Tony Stark appeared and Iron Man had a sidekick beside him after that?"

May was smart, and she was smarter than what people estimate her for. She could connect dots like this because they were obvious.

She then talked to her child, her nephew, and most importantly her son.

The talk took a while because she had wanted him to tell her everything.

...

Peter woke up the next day and smelled food coming from the kitchen. He smiled before quickly preparing himself and heading towards the kitchen to find a note.

[I'm sorry Peter! Marisa wanted me to take her shift because her baby is sick!]

He was fine with that, he then started to eat and prepare a couple of things before heading towards school.

Happy had said that he was too busy to send him in and he decided that a good walk would do him good.

It was then he noticed that Happy, well his car, was parked in front of the school as a young kid had gotten off of the car.

Peter paid it no mind but his heart was beating fast in his chest. He didn't know why but he met up with his friends and walked towards the school. Peter could feel a heavy stare boring a hole in his body.

...

Lunch had arrived and like usual, MJ was sitting at their table but a bit far away.

Ned was talking to Peter about the new Star Wars merchandise he found on the net before looking to the side to see that someone had interrupted their session.

Ned wasn't mean but he could see the pained expression on Peter's face which was why he was about to push the person away but someone spoke faster than him.

"You can sit with us but don't expect us to talk to you. We're really tired from our studies."

It wasn't a lie but it wasn't the truth also.

The man beside them talked and rambled but the two, three if you include MJ, didn't reply or talk back to him.

...

Peter returned home from patrol, eyes filled with tears. He couldn't believe it, he let a kid die! The kid said he'd die for Spiderman! Peter took the suit off. His eyes blurred from the tears that came down.

Then the words of the man and rushing back.

"I'm a killer. I don't save lives I'm a killer!"

Peter walked back accidentally hit a vase and making it smash to pieces.

He doesn't deserve to be Spiderman after tonight.

No... He deserves to die.

The door opened and revealed May.

"Peter, what's wrong?"

May asked.

She then hurried over to her nephew.

"May, can you take that suit and give it back to Mr. Stark? I don't want to be Spiderman anymore!"

Peter cried on his aunt's shoulder.

"Peter, you can't just quit Spiderman. He's a part of you."

May said to him with sincerity clear with her voice.

"Please May, for me..."

Peter cried.

May bit her lip and nodded.

"Thank you..."

Peter said before passing out.

He was currently bleeding out and May just noticed being a nurse has a few tricks up her sleeve.

...

So the next day May went to the tower, a nicely packed spider suit on her hand.

She placed it on the table and said,

"Peter said he'd quit being Spiderman."

Steve looked shocked with the rest.

"Why?"

Natasha asked.

"He didn't say anything,"

May explained and Tony entered laughing with Lucas.

"I better leave."

May muttered a goodbye and left.

Maybe that's why Peter left.

A few days after that, May was stroked.

She died in Peter's arms.

"Peter."

May said her eyes close to closing

"You aren't a burden."

May closed her eyes and her body became lifeless.

Peter cried on her chest.

His living relative left him.

He was now alone.

He didn't bother going to the tower knowing he was replaced already.

In a far place, somebody was looking.

"You're our Parker."
