(Name) jolted awake, panting.

It was just a dream.

She knew that, of course, but it still hurt to know that there was a good chance she'd never see Bill again. Dreams never repeat themselves. Even if they did, it happened too rarely.

As (name) walked to school, she couldn't help but think. Was Bill real? I mean, he wasn't real real of course, but what if he really did stay in her little dream world?

(Name) entered the school, lost in thought. She was contemplating whether or not Bill would show up again, and secretly hoping with all her heart he would.

The kids at school became annoyed at the fact that she wasn't paying attention to them that day. In fact, she wasn't paying attention to anyone at all. During lunch, she hadn't even blinked when someone stole her pudding cup. She was too preoccupied in her thoughts to even notice it was gone.

And that angered them.

-

The moment (name) heard the bell, she shot up from her seat and dashed out of her classroom, eager to get home as quick as possible.

Yeah, that wasn't happening.

"Hey, (name)!" She was forcefully pushed against the lockers by a familiar figure.

Oh, great. (Name) thought.

Elizabeth Hart smiled menacingly down at her, accompanied by Madison Brent, her number one follower. Rumor had it that Maddie was Eliza's first instagram follower.

"What? Aren't you going to greet us?" Madison sneered. (Name) clutched her books against her chest tightly, desperate to get space between them.

"Hello, Eliza. Maddie."

"You can't call us by our nicknames, scum."

"Elizabeth, Madison. Greetings."

Slap.

The slap wasn't powerful, but it was enough to leave a faint handprint on (name)'s cheek. "Don't call us by our first names! That's too much of a privilage for people of your calibre." Eliza hissed.

"Yeah, don't try to act smart with us!" Madison chimed in, always the follower.

"Hello, Hart. Brent."

"That's better." Elizabeth smirked and folded her arms, and Madison hurried to do the same. "Listen here, (name). And listen good. We don't like you ignoring us! Ignoring your friends is a very rude thing to do, don't you think, Mads?"

"Yeah!! Very rude!!" Madison repeated, glaring right at (name). Her glossed lips were contorted into a sneer.

(Name) wanted to ask them how their hair didn't stick to their lip gloss, but decided against it. Instead, she replied with a meek "yes".

"Good that we have things cleared up." Eliza laughed. Madison started to laugh, too. The two looked insane, laughing in an abandoned hallway in front of an annoyed (name).

"See you tomorrow." (Name) mumbled. Then she turned and ran. Elizabeth and Madison were too preoccupied to notice.

-

(Name) studied her bed.

Would Bill show up?

What if he would?

What if he wouldn't?

Only one way to find out.

(Name) launched herself into bed. Elizabeth and Madison couldn't disturb her here.

She fell asleep almost immidately, worn out by the day's events.

-

They were underwater, breathing as if they were on land. Fish swam around them, minding their own business. (Name)'s eyes lit up in wonder, studying the many different types of underwater flowers. Bill noticed her looking and smiled.

"Wow, these flowers are so pretty..." (Name) mumbled, turning around. The water made her dress move around her legs, slowly following her movements. Bill grinned and bent down to pick a flower.

"Here you go." Bill hummed, tucking a pale pink flower into her hair. "A pretty flower for an even prettier girl!"

(Name) turned red. She reached up to touch her hair, almost falling over from surprise. She was underwater, but her hair felt dry. "Ah..."

"A simple thank you would be nice." The young blonde hinted, grinning. If he didn't have an eyepatch on, he'd have probably winked.

"Th-thank you." (Name) muttered, averting her gaze downwards. Still, she smiled. Bill made her smile, she decided. Bill made her happy.

Bill gently took her hand and helped her swim upwards. They stepped out of the lake dry. He held onto her hand as they walked towards the now familiar door.

The blonde held the door open. "Mi'lady." He joked, smiling brightly and gesturing to the door. (Name)'s smile faltered.

"I... you'll be here tomorrow, right?" The (h/c) girl asked, the fear of Bill leaving taking over. The blonde let go of the door and smiled comfortingly.

"Of course. I enjoy being with you." He confessed.

"I enjoy... being with you too." (Name) replied. Her eyes were filled with so much trust Bill couldn't find it in himself to tell her-

To tell her...

"Okay. Let's make a deal! Every time you sleep, I'll be with you." He finally spoke. "But you have to promise me not to be sad in the real world. I'd hate you being sad."

"It's a deal." (Name) shook his hand and immidiately let go to feel the flower in her hair. She hoped it wouldn't go away when she woke up.

-

When she woke up, she was in her dirty school uniform. There was no flower in her hair. But that was OK.

She still smiled.
