I become a God and I still have to do tests!? Really?!!

After the pirate left, this old man with a goatee came and acted like the whole world should bow down to him.

Percy didn't like him straight away.

"OK, kid," I'm not a kid, "I'm here to test your intelligence. So, tell me, are you smart?" The broken veteran almost snorted at this man's blunt question.

"Academically, bad, otherwise, good." Percy wasn't going to say any more than necessary. The man pretended to take notes, nodding. Pretended to be all-knowing. "Don't take me for a fool, old man." Percy's voice was steely with suppressed annoyance.

The arrogant man looked taken aback.

"What do you mean?" Percy was not amused.

"You could have easily found all of this and more by looking at my school records. So what do you really want to know?" Percy gave him his wolf stare, compared to the glares he used on a daily basis now, the wolf stare was nothing. But it scared the Styxe out of the mortal.

"I-" Percy sighed.

"You were sent to find out more about me, now you have, please leave." Brownie points! I said please. The mortal stuttered some more and stumbled out . The sad God went back to waiting alone.

"The guys terrifying! I am not going back in there!" Fury almost sighed. The 'world's mightiest heroes' were scared of an eighteen year old.

"What are we going to do about him then?" Fury seemed to consider it for a moment.

"You'll all test him in something specific, Stark has done intelligence, Barton, you'll do strategy, Captain, you do strength and hand to hand, Romanov, weapons and Banner you'll do more medical. Understood?"

"Yes, sir." Barton stepped forward. "I'll go first, sir." The director nodded.

The team watched through the glass as Barton tested the kid using the computer monitors which had been set up on the walls.

"OK, kid, I'm gonna be testing your strategy so we're going to play some COD, OK?"
The prisoner nodded. Barton started to set up the game.

"One question," The archer looked up, "Why are we playing fish?" The question stopped the super spy  short for a moment.

"Call of Duty?" The 'child' still had a look of total incomprehension on his face, "Have you never played?" He asked incredulously. The teenager seemed to deem this obvious and didn't reply.

He raised an eyebrow.

"It's a war simulation game." the boy's posture instantly stiffened. "You have your character and you have to complete the mission without getting killed. Not as simple as it sounds though." The agent warned.

The young veteran seemed to consider this, then nodded slowly and picked up a controller. He didn't ask what the controls were.

Seeing as the boy had never played before and Clint was the unbeaten champion, the team figured this would be a simple test, with a very predictable outcome.

The first game went as expected: Clint won, but it was weird. The boy-Perseus-spent the entire time simply exploring the map and occasionally triggering the traps, but it seemed more deliberate than it should've been and, although he didn't kill anyone, he didn't get killed either.

Then he requested a rematch on the same map; the archer obliged, thinking it would go just like the last game.

Three games later, he was practically in shock.

The boy, who'd never picked up a controller before in his life, had just beaten him three games straight!

"How?!" The boy shrugged.

"I know the map."

"But you've only played it once and those weapons take ages to figure out!" Clint couldn't believe it. Another shrug.

"Most weapons have the same basic principles, I just worked from there."

"OK then.... I guess this test is over then." He turned off the console and walked back to his team, closing the door firmly behind him.

"What was that!?!" Tony was as formal and subtle as usual. Fury ignored the billionaire.

"Report." The agent swallowed.

"Smart, knows his weapons and has exceptional tactical knowledge." The Director nodded, filing away the information.

"Who's net?"

Cap walked into the sparse room, never breaking eye contact with the teenager.

"Hello." The boy blinked at the Captain's greeting, seeming to see something different in the iced hero than in the rest of them.

"You're a soldier." Oh. Unexpected.

"Yes." Steve answered. The boy nodded slowly, he'd known he was right.

"Captain?" This startled the blond slightly.

"Yes."
"What do you need to test me on, Captain?" He seemed to be nicer with the Captain, so Steve returned the favour.

"Strength and hand to hand." He answered honestly.
"How do we start, sir?" The captain smiled at the respect shown, it reminded him of his own military days.

"Arm-wrestle." There was no beating around the bush, it was abundantly clear to all watching, these were military men.

The super soldier put his arm on the table. They locked hands, staring into each other's eyes, surveying their opponent.

Then Cap pushed.

All the spectators assumed the boy's hand would slam straight onto the table. They waited for the inevitable.

When the group of heroes looked back, they saw Cap pushing against the boy's hand and said boy's only sign of effort was the slight tensing of his muscles.

Then he pushed back.

And Captain America's hand was slammed onto the metal table with such force it dented it.

"Holy....." Tony wasn't the only one completely flabbergasted.

For an eighteen year old to so easily beat the enhanced super soldier was unheard of.

It should've been impossible.

It took a minute for the Captain to recover.

"Well done." Was all he could say.

"Thank you, sir. Well done to you as well, you were better than most." His facial expression remained blank.

"I couldn't even keep my arm in the same place against you. I only kept it up that long because you let me!"
The amazing eighteen year old nodded.

"Still better than most, Sir."

"Um....OK then, let's try hand-to-hand. Come with me." Cap shackled his wrists almost reluctantly and led him to one of the training rooms. The team followed them.

"Hello Pirate, Ogre, Arrogance, Archer, it's been too long." his words should've been sarcastic, but his tone stayed neutral. "Hello Assassin, I haven't met you yet. A pleasure, Ma'am." Widow raised an eyebrow, this boy had been as far from polite as possible to all the others (except Cap) and now here he was, seeing her for the first time (apart from the 'fight') and he was being a perfect gentleman.

"Hello." Her voice  was smooth, none of her confusion leaking through. Yet he still picked up on it.

"You haven't tried to trick me. You haven't tried to present yourself as something you're not. You're accomplished in combat and, as of yet, you haven't tried to ask personal questions. Although, seeing as you're a spy, I'm sure that one will change eventually. I respect those who earn it and stop respecting them when they earn my distrust. I don't respect anyone who does neither."

That was surprisingly logical for a young terrorist and it brutally reminded the adult heroes of some of the war vets they'd met and they themselves. People too paranoid, who'd seen too much to respond to others normally. It was the cold, practised logic of a soldier.

The assassin knew better than to thank him, if he was anything like the soldiers she knew.

"How did you come across such thinking?" She asked instead. The mysterious boy snorted, his first break from monotony.

"Anything for the character profile, huh?" Again, the team were startled. A normal eighteen year old shouldn't be this perceptive, then again, by now they knew he wasn't normal. "Never mind, I'll tell you anyway. I've been betrayed by friends a few too many times to trust as easily as I once did."

"What happened?" For a moment it seemed like he'd tell her, like his mask was cracking, then he grinned for the first time since they met him.

"I'm afraid that's classified." He pronounced with a smirk.

Then he walked into the gym.

A/n:

I hope you liked it.

I just want to take a minute to appreciate those poor people in the Orlando nightclub and to support the LGBTQ community in general, as a member of the LGBTQ community myself I wanted to taake a moment to think about those people.

I've said the same thing in another of my stories but it's just really important to me and if you ever need to talk about it then please write in the comments or message me, as long as it isn't offensive to anyone I'd be happy to help you out or ust talk as much as I can.

I would also like to say that I detest discrimination, if you are homophobic, biphobic, racist or anything else then get off my account and never come back.

I hope you enjoyed my story. :)
