A Weird Dream

Four hours have passed after dinner, and I went back upstairs to my room so I can get some rest. As I fell into a slumber, I suddenly heard soft crickets chirping and my body felt itchy all of the sudden.

"Mmm, what?"

When I was slowly woken up, I widened my eyes and I sprung up to find myself in a dark creepy forest.

What the- am I dreaming? Why am I in a forest?!

I thought as I'm starting to get confused that turns into panic, I stood up where I glance left and right while crickets are chirping in the background.

Okay, this is some weird dream I'm having. Hopefully, there aren't any spiders around here because everybody knows that I am SCARED of spiders.

I thought, but soon I spotted something glowing and I squinted from a distance.

What's glowing back there?

I pondered as I tip-toed my way to the glowing area, I peered behind the tree and widened to see a beautiful glowing yellow flower.

I became awed at the yellow flower as I kneeled and admire the beautiful plant.

"It's so...pretty...though I recognized this flower before," I murmured while tilting my head, but the moment soon died down when I heard footsteps from behind. Alarmed, I quickly ran behind the tree to hide and slightly peered behind the tree to take a peep at the person. As soon as I heard bushes rustling, a mysterious hooded figure appeared before me.

I cocked my brow at the mysterious figure as I watched the hooded figure approaching the glowing flower and bend down in front of it. Then the hooded figure took off the hood to reveal an elderly woman with saggy skin covered in multiple wrinkles and marks, noticeably on her hands, arms, and face. She even has thinning hair, while still possessing curls, is dull, and has lost its volume, a combination of white and pale gray.

Wait...is that-?

I widened my eyes when I recognized that lady from a movie that I'd watched. Soon the elderly woman starts singing.

"Flower, gleam, and glow
Let your power shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine

Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine~."

Once she sang, her appearance slowly transformed from an elderly hag to a young stunningly gorgeous woman. I became stunned at what I just witnessed.

Omg, that's Mother Gothel! She's from Tangled! I love that film!

I pondered while having found memories of watching Tangled since it's one of my favorite Disney films of all time. Suddenly we both heard footsteps nearby and the young woman panicked. She hides the flower with a rock asap before immediately fleeing from being seen. Soon a guard arrived and saw something glowing underneath the rock. The guard then pushes the large rock away and his eyes widened when he saw the flower.

"Hey! I found it! I found the flower!!" He exclaimed as he ushered the other guards to come over and dug up the flower from the ground. I became puzzled yet shocked as I watched them pulling out the flower. Afterward, everything turned completely white that caught me off guard.

"Huh? It's changing?" I uttered until I heard a baby wailing as the background changes from the dark forest to a pink room where I saw two figures standing in front of the crib and from what I've seen, they looked like a king and queen.

This must be Rapunzel's parents...

I thought while staring at them.

"Isn't she beautiful honey?" The queen asked.

"Indeed she is." He replied as they both gazed down at their baby. I glance down to see a baby girl with blonde hair and large green eyes lying in the crib giggling at her parents in which both of them smiled warmly at her. This also made me smile as well.

Awww I know how you feel, she's so cute!

I thought while gushing at baby Rapunzel.

"What shall we named her dear?" The king asked curiously. The queen tilts her head and smiled before glancing down at her cheery baby daughter.

"How about Rapunzel?" She suggested and her husband smiled warmly and nodded.

"That's a wonderful name, Rapunzel...." He replied with a gentle grin as baby Rapunzel erupted loud laughter with the two rulers giggling as they cuddle to one another while watching and smiling at their daughter.

I giggled at the heartwarming scene from Tangled.

Awww, I love that scene so much!

I gushed mentally before the background changes again, only this time it's the same place except it's in their bedroom and it's nighttime. I widened my eyes when I knew what this scene is.

"Oh no...not this!" I gasped until I heard a window creaked and I spun around to see Mother Gothel in her elderly state. I widened my eyes filled with uncertainty and fear.

Ugh god, she looks so scary as I remembered!

I thought with disgust as I watched the elderly woman crept through the room and approached the crib where she lifts Rapunzel without making any noise.

"Oh don't you dare kidnapped Rapunzel you damn hag!"

I cussed her out but she didn't seem to hear or seen me since it's a dream after all. Soon the baby starts cried waking her parents up.

"Dear!"

"No!"

The rulers are petrified as they witnessed the hooded elderly hag kidnapped their baby daughter, the king and queen jumped from their bed to reclaimed their daughter, but it was too late. The hooded hag jumped from the balcony while holding their baby with her. Soon the queen dropped her knees and covered her face as she starts sobbing at the loss of their baby. The king kneels to his wife and patted her gently.

"Don't worry, we'll get her back." He reassured her with the wife nodded while wiping the tears from her face. To be honest, I feel bad for them. They were starting to build a life together with their baby and now that opportunity was thrown outdoors. Oh Gothel, why would you do this to them?....

Soon the background changes again only this time it's in the tower scene where I watched that fiendish hag brushing Rapunzel's long hair while the young little girl sang the same song that Gothel sang earlier.

"Heal what has been hurt
Change the fates' design
Save what has been lost
Bring back what once was mine
What once was mine~."

As she sang, Gothel's appearance has changed into a younger version of herself.

"Mommy, why can't I go outside?" She asked innocently making me cover my face cringing at the little girl Rapunzel's question.

"I can't with this..." I whimpered.

"The world is a dangerous place Rapunzel. The only person you can rely on is mommy, understand?" She reassured me, but I can tell it was fake as I shook my head at the young innocent Rapunzel.

"No, you can't Rapunzel..." I murmured while feeling my chest coiled from the scene.

"Okay, mommy." She replied with a grin and honestly, I felt bad for her. She spends most of her life in a tower without knowing who her true parents are. Soon the scene faded away making me flinched.

Huh? Wha- they're just going to end it like that?!

I thought looking shocked and frustrated because I wanna see more of this. But something caught me off guard when I heard a low female chuckle.

"Why hello blood of my soul~"

I was shaken when someone whispered into my ear as I slowly spun my head to see a younger version of Mother Gothel.

"G...Gothel? AHHHH!!" I screamed when she grabbed my shoulders and pulled towards her as her youthful appearance turns into her intimidating ugly haggish crone scaring me with terrifying grey eyes.

"My flower! I want my flower! WHERE IS IIIITTTTTT?!?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Aah!" I shrilled and rise from my bed, but I was surprised when I realized I'm back in my room. Soon I laid my head against the bedpost groaning.
"Jeez, that was so crazy..." I groaned while covering my forehead with my hand thanks to that weird dream I just had. Soon I giggled softly.
"Well, at least it isn't real. It's not like my family's hiding a deep secret from me." I joked before I let out a yawn.
"Well. I better get to bed and get ready for the day." I stated as formed a bright smile.
"The day where I became an independent woman." I proclaimed and I lie back down to my bed and shut my eyes as I fell into a deep slumber.
I hope...tomorrow is going to be a fresh new start for me...
Later in the master bedroom, Francine is lying on the bed with a distressed look on her face before she lets out a sigh.
This is gonna be tough...
She thought until she felt an arm wrapped around her waist and lips planted on her right cheek earning a giggle from the ravenette as she subtly whips her head to her smiley husband.
"Tired?" He asked with his dorky smile making her grinned softly at him.
"Obviously..." She sassed before frowning again with her mind swirling with conflicting feelings. Brenton, being the concerned husband he is, noticed her distress and lets out a sigh.
"It's that time, isn't it?" He guessed making Francine sighed.
"Yes...I was thinking about telling her the truth about our family...my family I mean." She explained.
"Just like how my mom did when I was her age." She stated as Francine gripped the sheets remembering when her father, Bruce, and her mother, Gardenia, told her about her mother's heritage of powerful wizards from another world back during her adolescence before erupting a soft chuckle and perks a grin.
"I thought she was joking when I asked her about my mom and dad, but she's not," Francine said clenching her fists against the mattress as she reminisced her mother confessing her about her actual background when she was a teen.
"Were you mad?" Brenton asked curiously as his wife grimace a little.
"For a short time, I was confused and angry. Not because my mom told us about it, but my dad knew the entire time." She admitted furrowing her brows as she bits her lower lip.
"I want to hate them, but I couldn't...cuz I love them so much and I can't stay mad at her or my dad." She explained before smiling a bit while leaning her head against the pillow.
"It was a tough time for me. My mom and my dad said I was too young to understand and I wasn't ready to listen to the truth." She informed.
"They know you, Fran. Think about it. Can you imagine that a child would believe something so absurd or out of the ordinary without any hard evidence to reflect their point? They know a child couldn't handle that kind of stuff. It's a good thing that they decided to tell you the truth about her background till you've grown and when they're ready." Brent reassures Francine grinned a bit in response.
"True...It took me a week to adjust to the truth. I need to know that it happened and find a way to accept it." She said while smiling a bit.
"Eventually I forgive them and...I became much closer to my parents than before." She explained before erupting a giggle. Brenton chuckled and pats her head.
"That's my girl. You'd change for the better and I'm proud of you." He praised and Francine giggled.
"Thanks, Brent." She grinned gently.
"Though I'm not gonna lie, I wish I have magic powers like my mom, but I don't have one." She pouted.
"I don't know. I saw magic from Harry Potter and it's not all sunshine and rainbows. You have to do lots of practice."
"True, but...I'm glad that my mom and my grandparents were transported to this world. I can't imagine what it's like to part of their world..." Francine assumes.
"Well I never been to their world either nor know much about your family, but...
Then Brent kissed her head while stroking her head.
"You should feel proud to have parents that support you throughout your life here in Belle Haven." He reassured and Francine nod.
"You had a good point." She grinned.
"Regardless, she's graduating from high school for a few days. So this might be a good time for her to know about the truth about our real heritage." Francine told him and he bobs his head gently.
"Understandable, but don't rush it tho," Brenton reassured and strokes her head gently.
"All of our families; including your parents, my brother, and my sister are coming together to celebrate our daughter's graduation party. Plus, Harriet and Zara and their families are going to be there too." He reminded her and plants a kiss on her head.
"So please don't put any pressure on yourself. Once the graduation party is over, we'll tell her about the flower." He informed while patting her head with Francine smiling sweetly at him as she plants a kiss on his cheek.
"I got it, Brent. Goodnight." Francine stated and he chuckled softly at her with a loving smile.
"You too, hon." He said as both of them lay down together with their arms wrapped together where they fell into a deep slumber with loving smiles.
