Growing up she had always wondered how it would be like to be a princess.
To be special all the time.
To have people at your beck and call and to order them around.
To always wear pretty gowns and glittery tiaras and sparkling jewelry.
To ride ponies and sentence people to deat-
Uh... Sentence people to... Extra cleaning duties?

"You look like a princess, Mimi. " Her mother's voice sounded void of any emotion to her while the others in the room thought she sounded absolutely emotional. "I'm so proud of you."

'For what?' She wanted to ask but bit back the comment knowing full well how just one wrong move would get her in difficult situations where she wouldn't want to be.

"Thanks, mom." She had muttered as the older woman gave her a stiff smile.

Ew.

This was supposed to be her special day.
But it wasn't.
Considering how serious her parents are about their business, she could be marrying some rich old dude's super ew ew son or the old dude himself. Hopefully, not a woman... Her mother had made it impossible to like any woman.

Her gown, handmade by some of the best of the best out there with intricate golden patterns sewn into the silky silver material with a high neck and long loose sleeves with sparkly silver stones arranged into pretty little patterns, fitted her perfectly as if this was meant just for her (which it was). It was paired with the sparkly glass shoes she had ordered to be custom made spending a huge amount on it just to spite her parents. It worked. But well, at the end of the day, they still won. She was still getting married!
Her long raven locks were tied into a messy but pretty bun with little glittery little stars clipped on them. She had light make-up on, just enough to fix the cheekbone which was slightly higher than the other, and to give her face a flawless look and just enough so that her would-be husband wouldn't think of her as too pretty and freak out when the makeup comes off.

"Are you ready?"

No-

"Always been."

It was in silence that she was walked down the isle by her father who had pulled on an Oscar-Worthy - Sad but happy expression as she had her eyes set on the red carpetted floor of the cathedral.

"Treat my little girl well, yeah?" She heard her father say, as he placed her right hand in an extended hand that is linked to the man to whom she would be or could be tied to for eternity.

She didn't hear a response.

Does that mean he wouldn't...?

That's okay!
Maybe this is how her Martial Arts classes are gonna pay off.

With slow steps she had walked up the few steps to stand opposite to her husband in a few minutes, slowly raising her head.

Oh well-

The man was taller than her and she was no short woman. He had blond hair that was parted at the side and an angular face. He seemed to have been looking at her too but turned away as soon as their eyes met, his hand which held her's tightening for a moment before relaxing.

The Minister of this Holy sacrament, a man in his fifties gave them both a kind smile before turning to the crowd who was here to witness this moment of union between the two lovers.

"Welcome, friends and family." He started, his voice echoing throughout the ancient cathedral. "We are gathered here today in the sight of God and these witnesses to join together PhaWin Noppanut Guntachai and Milou Elizebeth Laurier, in holy matrimony; which is an honorable estate, instituted of God, since the first man and the first woman walked on the earth. Therefore; it is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently and soberly. Into this holy estate, these two persons present come now to be joined. Therefore, if anyone can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace."

After a moment of silence, waiting for any sort of objections, the Minister went on to reading the Holy Bible, which with much precision and in beautiful words explained what Love is.

"Win and Milou, you have come together this day so that the Lord may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of this minister of His word and this community of family and friends and so, in the presence of this gathering, I ask you to state your intentions: Have you both come here freely and without reservation to give yourselves to each other in marriage? If so, answer by saying 'I have.' "

"I have."

"I have."

"Win, please take the ring you have selected for Milou." The Minister gestured towards the Golden band of ring that was neatly placed on a purple pillow. "As you place it on her finger, repeat after me: With this ring, I thee wed."

"With this ring, I there wed." His voice sounded lifeless as he said those words, before slipping the band on her ring finger, as the ring he had sent for her earlier was moved to her right hand.

"Milou, please take the ring you have selected for Win. As you place it on his finger, repeat after me: With this ring, I thee wed."

"With this ring... I thee wed."

"May Jesus Christ, Our Lord, and Savior, always be at the center of the new lives you are now starting to build together, that you may know the ways of true love and kindness. May the Lord bless you both all the days of your lives and fill you with His joy. Amen."

A chorus of Amen's was heard as the guests and the family waited for the final words.

"Those whom God has joined together, let no man put asunder. In so much as Win and Milou have consented together in holy wedlock, and have witnessed the same before God and this company, having given and pledged their faith, each to the other, and having declared same by the giving and receiving of rings, I pronounce that you are husband and wife. I ask you now to seal the promises you have made with each other this day with a kiss."

Oh no.

"You may now kiss the bride."

The words went to deaf ears as both held hands and just looked anywhere but at each other, never making a move.

The priest cleared his throat loudly, catching their attention and repeating the question once again, this time earning at least a reaction from them both even though it wasn't something two people who love each other very much to the point where they wanna get married would sport.

Both of them could sense the killer glares being sent their way as they stood facing each other, awkwardly.

Win could sense his father muttering profanities under his breath as he glared him down from his seat and just as he got ready to stand up, he had pulled his wife towards him, by her hand, sealing the deal their families had made, by a kiss.

The world around had gone silent for him and all he could think of was the pointy heels of his wife's shoe on his toe and the aggressively tight grip she had on his biceps.
