14. Take That To My Family
The room is at a death shock at the final six. Nathan and Roy are sitting in the red and blue chairs while the four others are scattered by themselves looking at the walls for secrets for escape. Ever since Jenna's elimination, the six haven't spoke to each other. Roy breaks the sounds of emptiness.
"Winter. You switched. I wouldn't expect this from you."
Winter hears him but ignores him to look at the winner of the 106th game.
"You killed a child to save a trader."
Winter squats as if she's in tears but continues to look away at a lower picture.
"If you don't care about a twelve year old's then you for sure don't care about mine. Are we next then? Are we over? You said you always need to stay in the majority, I just didn't know that didn't include us. Elisabeth I hope you win this. It would really make your mother proud."
No one looks at Roy. The four other players shake their heads at each other.
"You don't even know them Winter. We've always had your back and still do. Working with them will only lead to backstabbing to you. You won't win with them. We gave you a chance at least, but this might be ruined. It's not too late to come back."
Elisabeth coddles her while the twins attempts to draw her back. As she faces the wall Elisabeth tries to bring happiness back into her body. To gather her good memories with Hazel, she braids her silver hair. Both smile at how horrible Elisabeth is braiding from her scalp. William and Pharaoh smile knowing what Elisabeth is trying to do. Nathan and Roy stays emotionless.
"Sometimes you can find happiness anywhere. Even if it's for a slight second." Elisabeth smiles.
Nathan and Roy takes a break from the game to give a slight smile to each other. "I have an idea." Nathan giggles slightly. "Who wants to take a break from what happens in here to play a little game of tag."
The girls look at each other, smiles, and struts to the twins. Pharaoh and William follows.
"William is the oldest, so he's it!" Nathan jukes out of the reach of William. The rest follows running side to side out of the reach of William with smiles on everyone's face for the first time. Pharaoh playfully uses Elisabeth's body as a shield for William. She swarms out of his grasp and softly slaps Pharaoh's arm. She runs to the other side to the twins as William sneakily touches Pharaoh.
"STOP!" The intercom booms through the cube loudly. The six haults and stars at the middle waiting for the hologram to show.
"We are just taking a break from the game. This is probably the last time we will ever have fun. You did say this was a game. Games are supposed to be fun." Winter says with half of her head still in a messy loose braid.
"Not anymore. It's back to reality." She replies.
"Reality is being able to go back home. This is just executing young people. This hell hole changes people. It changed me. It's changed all of us. It even changed you. This isn't what you wanted to be isn't it. Just let us go home." Concerns Nathan.
"You want a break, I'll give you a break. I know how to put you back into the game. New advantage is now in place! In the tube there is two red cube and three blue cubes. One of the cubes will be golden. The person who pulls the golden cube will get the power to vote twice. Instead of four votes being counted, there will be five. If you have the golden cube then you must use your power or you will be eliminated. You better choose your sides now and hopefully you are on the right side. You may now choose your fate."
The walls are now transitions to the 112th game with a brand new set that looks the closest to the one now. The odd part of this game is that everyone is in pairs. One older and one younger so there is a chance that the pairs are related. The winner of that game is a middle aged man with his pair being eliminated in the middle of the game.
The final six finish looking at the walls and Elisabeth is the first to pull. She struggles to reach, but she beats the hard part and pulls out another blue cube. She is apart of the three people left to never be the final nominee in the seats. The others includes Roy and William. The other three has been up three once each.
The next person to pull is an ally of Elisabeth, Pharaoh. He reaches his dark long semi-muscular arms into the tube and confidently pulls out the second blue cube. Two red cubes, one blue cube, and one golden cube is left in the tube.
Winter slowly and confusingly walks to the tube. Looks at the face of the twins and reaches her also long arms into the tube. With her hand in the bucket she looks back at Pharaoh and Elisabeth. She eject her arms from the darkness to see a pattern. The third and final blue cube. The only thing left is two red cubes and one golden cube. Nathan, Roy, and William are the final ones left.
"I'll go with the plan, you did it already." Roy says to Nathan leaving the others confused. He reaches into the abyss and gradually pulls out the sparkling golden cube. The five others are mesmerized by how shimmery it is. Roy's face stays straight and emotionless. "Nathan, take this. You been up there before. I guess it's my turn to go up there. He hands the cube to Nathan and sats a seat on the blue chair. William understands and follows him to the red seat.
"Roy and William are the final nominees. You may now vote on who you think should be eliminated over the other. Nathan on the other hand has two votes. I wonder where they are going." The voice says.
Nathan immediately votes and his podium makes two beeping noises. Everyone understands where his votes lie but Roy still looks unconfident.
Elisabeth and Winter podium are on the left of the chairs while Pharaoh and Nathan are on the right. "I'm just keeping my promise." Elisabeth says before voting."
"Winter. Please save me. I was just mad." Roy begs. Winter remains quiet to him.
Pharaoh votes leaving Winter as the last vote.
"Sweetheart. You are with us now. We almost made it, you just have to vote him out." Pleads William.
"You were with us first. We made a promise to stay together. Vote him out. He already lost once. He lost for a reason." Roy argues.
"I lost because I was in jail. I'm not a criminal. I changed and I am a caring father to a little girl."
"Really! What her name then?"
William looks straight into Elisabeth's eyes. "Elisabeth...Elisabeth Sanchez. She goes by Lizzie." Elisabeth smiles.
"That was clearly a lie. He was in jail and he didn't even tell us why. He might have been a murderer and you would let him go home free. Save me and me and Nathan will owe you big time. We will devote our lives to save you."
Swift's voice echoes through the room again. "We don't have that much time. You need to vote Winter."
"Ok. I'll vote." She presses the screen on her podium.
The wall behind Roy and William shows the number 3-2. No one is one hundred percent sure to what the vote means. William's wristband starts to beep for the second time. "Tell my daughter that I love her. My information is in the corner of the room. May the winner please take that to my family."
The wristband gives him something that he remembers well. A shocking. His body tenses and his hair rises like before. Except this time the electrocution is at a higher velocity. Before the shocking can end, his body is lowered and one podium follows.
"Poor Sanchez. I was actually rooting for him. I guess anything can go." Swift says.
