You know those children's fairy tales where the princes kisses the princesses, and she suddenly wakes up after an eternal sleep. She would stretch like it was just a good, old nice little nap—yeah, that's not me. It was a painful transition. After fifty years of living inside a red crystal in a coma state, I felt the familiar sizzle and burning sensation lit through every cell in my body.
A few moments later, I apparated into a room that looks very much like the castles in Scotland. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust. First, I noticed the red crystal sitting on a wooden nightstand. My eyes traveled outside the window behind the nightstand and saw that it was completely dark outside.
I swept my eyes around the room. A nice beautiful fireplace on the opposite wall of where I stood. It still had some fire going inside of it. In front of the fireplace were two sofas facing diagonally to the fireplace. A red, expensive Arabian rug underneath the sofas and in front of the fireplace.
There were two wooden doors. I'm assuming one leads to the bathroom and the other to the hallway. Between the two doors was a large cherry oak armoire. This bedroom was extremely cozy and reminded me so much when I was only a hundred years old.
This was not the place from last night. Last night, I was in a dark storage room with an odd old man doing inventory.
A man's sigh jerked me from my thoughts.
Immediately, I stiffened and turned towards the noise. It was coming from the king-size bed. The dark red bed curtains were drawn. I couldn't see who was behind it.
Could it be my new owner?
I tiptoed to the side of the bed. Using one pinky finger, I slowly drew the curtains back. Fifty years ago, I was in the hands of an old human man. I turned him into a toad several times for his obsessive requests to revive his wife. That was not a spell I will do soon. It was dangerous and filled with karma.
This time, I hope it was something better.
I heard fabric rubbing against each other. He was moving around on the bed. I drew the curtains wider. The moonlight immediately entered the space. From what I could see, my owner was a man.
But that was all I could see.
Frustration drove me to crawl onto the bed. I leaned in closer to the man's face. It was then I saw how beautiful he was—a straight nose, sharp cheekbones and jawlines. His skin was as white as snow. His dark lips were thin but perfect. He even smelled good. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. It has been so long since I've been with a man this handsome.
When I opened my eyes, I was staring straight into a pair of crimson eyes.
"Oh, shit!" I screamed and jumped back, only to fall onto the cold, hard floor. "Ow, that hurt."
I placed my hands on the edge of the bed to pull myself back up, but he grabbed my wrist. I stood at my full height and stared straight at the crimson eyes again.
My, he was definitely a tall man.
Midnight curls falling over his forehead and eyes that could pierce right through my soul.
"Who are you?" he sneered.
I blinked, still stunned at how beautiful he was.
He tightened his grip on my wrists. Then he repeated his question again, but it was a little hard to speak when he stood in front of me, completely naked. He has muscles from head to toe.
Maybe just one touch...
I pointed the tips of my fingers down and touched his shoulder.
Oh yeah, totally.
He growled and flipped me around. Pushing me up against the wall, he gripped my wrists behind my back.
"Tell me who you are and who sent you?" When he talks, I feel like someone spanked me with a leather whip.
He shoved me so hard against the wall; I groaned out loud. I said my name, but he didn't hear me.
"What?" He shoved me against the wall again.
I swear if he does that one more time, I'll turn him into a toad.
"Ophelia," I wheezed.
"Who sent you?"
"No one."
He was about to slam me again when I used all my strength to push back. He took only a step back, but that was enough for me to break out of his hold. I spun him around and pushed onto the bed. Straddling him from behind, I ensured to keep a tight lock on his wrists.
However, I underestimated the strength of my opponent. God built the man like a brick wall, but he was also super agile. He moved at an inhumane speed. I flipped onto the bed and he straddled me next.
"Oh, I like this position better." I grinned.
"You think this is funny?" he hissed angrily at me.
"Of course not. Just take off my shirt for me while you're on top," I replied.
He scoffed. Disbelief written all over his face.
"I wouldn't sleep with you even if you were the last woman on earth."
Wanting to prove him wrong, I lowered my eyelashes and puckered my lips. I began wiggling underneath him. Immediately, I felt a hardness between us and, geez, I'm more scared of him than he was of me now. That length was terrifying. I stopped wiggling.
"Ok, get off me."
He chuckled darkly, "So, you're scared now? What happened to the wild cat I saw a moment ago?"
He leaned down close to my ear. I could feel his hot breath fanning my cheek, neck, and warming my insides.
"Don't you want to feel this length deep inside of you? Fucking you? Making you scream loud while you cum repeatedly with it inside of you?"
I gulped. He had my insides quivering.
"Tell me how you get into my bedroom?"
"The red crystal."
"That is what you want?" He didn't look too happy at my answer.
"Actually, I don't want it, but it wants me."
It was the truth. I've been trying my damn hardest to break the imaginary chains that bind me to the red crystal, but the curse put on me was an ancient curse. I've yet to hunt for the witch who put me in it in the first place.
"Who are you?" I questioned.
His gaze swept over my face several times, as if he was trying to determine if I was lying or actually asking.
"Whoever sent you, didn't tell you?"
"I told you already. No one sent me."
"What are you?" He ignored my question.
"I told you my name. Now, tell me yours."
"Why should I?" He arched an eyebrow.
I scoffed.
"My name is Atlas Wilder, the Vampire King."
My eyes snapped from his lips to his eyes. No wonder he had those bloody eyes that looked so cold and menacing. He was a bloodsucker.
And immortal
A slow grin crawled onto my face. I think I may have hit the jackpot—
Someone interrupted us when the door flew open. Five crazy looking vampires walked in. Their eyes narrowing on their leader's naked form before seeing what's beneath him. I allowed my eyes to roam the group of people. They were all lean and tall, not bulky. One of them stood out amongst them all and, to be honest, he looked more handsome than the idiot above me. His eyes were bloodshot red like Atlas and he had similar dark hair and features.
"Oh, who is he?" I asked with clear interest.
Atlas got off me just as the man I was questioning about threw a night robe at him. Atlas had it on in seconds.
"Silas, bring this assassin down to the dungeon and have someone torture the truth out of her."
"Right away," Silas replied before walking over to me.
'" Wait! Hold on." I jumped to the other side of the bed. "Let me explain."
Silas grabbed onto my arms, but I fought him. I scratched and flail my arms all over the place. I kicked everywhere until I landed one shot in his groin. He grunted in pain before another came to grab my other arm. Together, they lifted me up into the air. One of them holding one of my arms.
"Wait. Atlas! I'll talk! C'mon talking is fun. We don't need to go to the dungeon."
Atlas crossed his arms over his chest and spread his legs a little. "Fine. Talk."
"I'm a witch. I live in the red crystal. I had just woken up and found myself in your room. I swear, I am harmless. I wouldn't hurt an insect. Trust me!"
"You're insane," he muttered.
"I'm not! I'm serious! My name is Ophelia McQuoid. I lived in the Highlands of Scotland. I used to have a sister, a mother, and a father. We lived in a cabin," I shouted out everything I could say.
"You're saying you're a witch? We haven't seen one in a century. For all we know, they are a dying race."
"Yes, but I'm alive. If you would just tell your minions to let me go, I'll show you. I just need my hands."
He chuckled. "And afford to lose you? No way. You are going down to the dungeon where you belong. Trust me, whatever you are hiding, we'll find out once you seen what we have waiting for you."
"I'm not lying, you imbecile!"
I continued kicking and screaming while they carried me out of the bedroom and down to their dungeon. This place was humongous. I don't think I even remember my way around the place. I remember passing through the great hall and down a narrow corridor, but that was it.
A second later, they tossed me into a dark, cold, and very damp cage. As soon as I got to my feet, I ran to them and grabbed the metal cage.
"Listen, Silas, you seemed like a good-looking fella. You don't need to torture me. I swear I'll tell you everything, but you have to promise to give me something in return." Negotiating. That's what I should do.
He turned and raised an eyebrow.
"And what would you want?"
"Oh, you know, you could take the red crystal with you. I would much rather you have it than Atlas."
He laughed. "Fuck, you must be fucking insane."
"I'm not insane!" I shouted after his retreating backside.
When he was gone, I sighed and propped my forehead against the cold metal. I just hate dungeons. They weren't fun. I could use my magic, but I could feel the power of this place. It was ancient as I was.
Hours ticked by. I sat on the cold ground and waited. I think I had already counted over sixteen spiders already. One was in the middle of entering my cage from outside when I felt a familiar tug in my stomach.
"Oh, shit," I groaned and fell onto my hands and knees.
The Red Crystal was calling me back. My insides were twisting so badly I broke into a sweat. I bit the inside of my cheek and fought back the groan that was crawling its way up my throat. I guess we are about to find out if the Love Curse was stronger than the magic in these cells. A second later, I disappeared into thin air.
The dungeon cell that I occupied was empty.
