When Kalina came to she was surprised to see herself not in the hallway of her school but rather she was staring at a stark white ceiling, and the sound of beeping could be heard.

Shifting her sight she found herself in a hospital bed hooked up to an IV machine. And sitting in the visitor chair staring at her with her azure eyes was Zero.

"Glad that you could join us again sleeping beauty", Zero quipped. "How are you feeling?", she asked worried. Kalina tried to sit up to find her body still a bit sluggish. "My body feels as though I'm wading through mud. I honestly hate the feeling." Zero couldn't help but smile at Kalina's words. "Yeah well sedatives will do that to you, but I was thinking you could tell me what happened. I leave you alone for a few days and there you go charging into demon rifts."

"It's not my fault! One minute I'm trying to head to the nurse's office the next minute I'm stuck in this weird dimension that looks like a witches barrier from Madoka Magica!" This seemed to pique Zero's interest. "Interesting, so did you defeat the demon that made the rift?", Zero asked quizzically while crossing her arms. "If you mean that spider demon then yeah. But what about the dude with the black boots?", Kalina asked.

And now it was time for Zero to look confused. "Someone in black boots? Kalina when I found you you were alone and unconscious already." Kalina opened her mouth to tell Zero what she saw but decided to keep it to herself. Looks like later I'll have to play Sherlock Holmes.

"But on a much brighter note", Zero began as she walked to Kalina's bedside hiding something behind her back. "After my mission with Lady I went to go see Rodin and I got you something." Kalina's eyes widened as Zero placed a closed metal suitcase in her lap with the Gates of Hell logo on it. Kalina looked to Zero with a grateful smile.

"Oh Zero, you shouldn't have." Zero just chuckled. "Ah well I guess I am pretty great."

Kalina opened the suitcase and was taken aback by the gift inside. Inside the suitcase were two large red guns reminiscent of a magnum revolver but with two barrels much like Nero's blue rose handgun. On the barrel of the gun in golden calligraphy was the guns name. Crimson Blitz.

Kalina had to resist the urge to squeal as she picked up the two guns to further inspect them. Dangling from their handles were charms. The charm on the right was a star with an opal gem in the center, and the one on the left was a crescent moon having a moonstone gem.

On closer inspection of the guns were writing on them to which Kalina smiled at the reference. On the gun to the right it read Aria. Guiding to salvation, Redeemer of Souls. And on the left it read Overture. To bring a new dawn, Bringer of Light. "Now when you fight demons you don't have to use to much of your magic." Kalina put the guns back into the suitcase before looking at Zero. "Thanks, it's been a while since I was given a gift like that."

Zero snorted. "Don't get to gushy on my or I'll loose my street cred. But no problem, I mean if we're going to be slaying demons together than you should at least have proper equipment."

Kalina raised an eyebrow. "Slaying demons together?" "Oh that's right, according to my source I'm supposed to guide you on your quest. My source originally wanted me to watch from the side only interfering when necessary but I just thought screw that. Now, if you'll excuse me I have to sign those release papers for you."

The crimson haired girl blinked. "But your not Nora, I've been in and put many people in the hospital to know that they won't let me go until Nora signs the papers."

"Oh, I see", Zero said slowly, her mind clearly at work due to the visible crease in her forehead. "I got it!", she said snapping her fingers. Before Kalina had a chance to ask just what Zero was up to a glowing glyph of blue light appeared at the white haired girl's feet before she was bathed in an almost blinding light.

When the light cleared Zero was gone and in her place....was Nora. "I used to use this trick to get away from Oliver and Nancy back in my fugitive days--don't ask." Kalina just threw her hands up in defeat as Zero/Nora walked out the door and out of sight.

I swear with her around my life just got ten thousand times more interesting, Kalina thought happily as she looked down at her new guns, Crimson Blitz. Maybe I can convince Zero to let me take this for a test run.

Kalina was knocked out of her stupor a few second later when the sound of clacking heels against marble could be heard. Quickly Kalina closed the suitcase close before "Nora" and a nurse walked in.

"Good morning Ms. Scarborough, are you feeling okay?", the nurse asked. Kalina nodded before she responded, "I'm feeling much better now, but I think I'll feel even better when this IV is out of my arm." The nurse nodded as she went over to take the IV out of Kalina's arm to which she sighed in relief.

"Remember try not to move around to much, and drink plenty of fluid, the last thing we need is for you to pass out again." Kalina nodded before the nurse walked out of the room and immediately Zero transformed back into herself. "Well being Nora was a unique experience, by the way did you know that one of the doctors was hitting on her?", she asked.

Kalina's eyebrow was now raised in interest. "Oh really, I'll be sure to mention that to Nora when I get the chance. By the way, is there any chance that I can take these bad boys out for a test run?", Kalina asked actually hoping there was a demon nearby.

Zero stood frozen for a few seconds before snapping back into reality. "Good news, there's a few of them not far from here, a perfect test run." Kalina grinned like a madwoman.

"Excellent."

Kalina knew that demons pop up all over the place, but the fact that they were living in an old abandoned building just seemed cliché or at the very least a little bit unoriginal. Opening the door with a creak Zero and Kalina walked into the building, guns in hand. Zero's blue Diamond Dust and Kalina's red Crimson Blitz.

The house had a old dusty smell mixed in with the aging rust of iron. But Kalina was smart enough to know that it wasn't iron but old dried blood she was smelling, the demons must have been here for a while.

"Seems pretty clear in here, let's check the kitchen and dining room afterwards we head upstairs." Kalina nodded as they headed into the dining room, everything looked like it hadn't been touched in years. And still no demons.

"Maybe your senses were off a bit--", Kalina was interrupted by otherworldly screaming as a small dog like demon busted through the wall with long razor sharp claws ready to mince meat in a single slash.

Kalina and Zero dove out the way before Zero took aim with Diamond Dust and began to fire away, her bullets awash with a blue magical aura. The agile dog demon kept bouncing from wall to wall, most of the place was now riddled with bullets.

"Zero!", Kalina shouted aiming Crimson Blitz at the demon with a clear shot before something leaped onto her back and began clawing at her. Kalina screamed as she reached behind her and grabbed the dog demon before flipping it over onto it's back in front of her with a loud thud.

Kalina slammed her foot onto it's chest before aiming Crimson Blitz and pulling the trigger the bullets easily ending the demon's existence.  A few piercing screams and gunshots later Zero walked in with disheveled hair. "And this is why the little ones get on my nerves."

Kalina managed a ghost of a smile before Zero's face once again returned series. "The demonic presence hasn't been fully erased from this house, the rest of them are probably upstairs lying in wait."

"Well then", Kalina began once again standing at her full height. "Then let's go meet them", she said gesturing to the stairs back the way they came.

Now climbing the stairs with caution Kalina came to find the hallway just as old and barren as the level below. The plaster was peeling and a lot of the house had aged horribly. And all of the doors were wide open, and marked with bloodstains. But all of them were empty.

"Next floor then", Zero said observing how every room was empty and not a sound from them was made. Making their way upstairs they came across a large trap door. Odd, Kalina remarked. Zero also took notice of this before placing her hand on the door softly.

"Get your guns ready Kalina, we're about to make are grand entrance."

Above the trapdoor the demons sat festering and devouring the last remains of the human corpses. They would have to retrieve more soon or they'll slowly die off. The small dog like demons looked around as they smelt something. Something strange and something primordial and ancient. The blood....the blood of a god--

A blast of blue light ripped open the floor boards as two girls dual wielding guns, two red two blue came in firing bullets everywhere. The demons shrieked as the bullets pierced their flesh and others charged forward. The one with white-silver hair quickly did away with her guns and in her hands now glowing blue she unleashed a blast of frigid air that turned the demons into icy statues before completely shattering from the other ones bullets.

"Not bad for your first run", Zero complimented as Kalina continued firing from Crimson Blitz and Zero covering her with spells ranging from ice, to fire, and lightning.

As some demons got close to Kalina she stopped firing before pistol whipping some demons in the face and opening fire, leaving no room for error. For in a battle against demons hesitance could mean death.

As the demons fell to the floor dead one by one the remaining demons quickly came together to use their last resort.

As the dog like demons piled together in a glow of crimson red all the demons were gone and in their place stood a large demon dog with glittering red eyes and it's body was as large a house, it's legs as thick as tree trunks. It's sharp serrated teeth glinted in the light and Kalina couldn't help but tense up a bit.

The large dog demon took this as a weakness and pounced on Kalina, the impact rocking the entire house and knocked Crimson Blitz out of her hands. The dog licked it's lips as it opened it's mouth to take a large bite out of Kalina's head.

"Kalina!", Zero cried out as she drew her arm back and punched the air. A second later a large golden glyph with strange otherworldly runes blazed to life and out shot an arm that blasted the demon dog fusion through the wall with a sudden crash before disappearing in sparks of light.

Zero ran to make sure Kalina was okay before heading to the late gaping hole in the wall leading to the outside. Zero found the dog straining to get up, the fusion of the dog demon almost defusing before becoming an amalgam once more.

Zero leaped high into the air, a small white patch falling out of her pocket as she now levitated in the middle of the sky.

Zero clapped her hands together and powerful arcs of blue lightning flared as the sky become a dark grey on borderline black as Zero down at the dog demon who now rose to it's legs.

Zero began opening her palms only for an arc of lightning beginning to form. Grasping the bolt as if she was Zeus herself she glared at the dog demon before firing the bolt down to earth with the strength of an Olympian. The bolt crashed into the dog demons body and blew it apart into bloody chunks as Zero slowly levitated back into the house.

"Man that's more exhausting then I remember."

Zero looked to Kalina who only stared at her, but not with fear but with amazement. "That was incredible! How did you do that!?", she wondered as she rose to her feet and picked up their guns and handing Zero's back to her.

"When you've been in the business for as long as I have you learn to discover a few OP tricks yourself", Zero explained with a cocky grin on her face.

Kalina then looked out of the gaping hole to see a smoldering black crater where the demon dog used to be. "Remind me never to get on your bad side", Kalina laughed before looking down to see a small white patch on the ground.

"Hey Zero did you drop this?", Kalina asked picking it up. It seemed like a photo as she reached out to pick it up and turned to Zero.

At first Zero's face was calm before it became bright red. "Oh yeah that's mine, I'll have that back now", she said incredibly fast as she rushed over to take it. "What is it--", Kalina attempted to see who the photo was of but Zero snatched it out of her hand so quick that all she got a look of was a male's face, blue, and then white hair similar to her own, everything else was incredibly blurry from how fast Zero snatched it from her.

"So was that photo of, a boyfriend perhaps?", Kalina asked quizzically. Zero's face then turned an even darker shade of red. "Don't worry about it."

"So it is a boyfriend!", Kalina cheered in victory. "So what's his name, do I know him?"

"Well I'm not going to tell you his name although I'm pretty sure you know of him."

This got Kalina very interested. "Don't you worry about him when your away on secret missions and stuff or coming to visit me?" Zero shook her head.

"Don't worry we go on missions together all the time. And besides, even when I'm not there a special close friend of mine named Kana Marie takes care of things."

Kalina nodded as she didn't want to pry any more into Zero's private affairs. "Well then, I'd say after my first day on the job some victory pizza is an order", Kalina spoke as she whipped out her phone to dial the number of the pizza store.

A/N: And that brings another end to another chapter of Scourge of Glory. Hope you all liked it and if you guys can guess the references mainly to the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy then I'll love you forever.

Also for those a bit skeptical about Zero's powers like the whole hand Summon thing that is actually one of Zero's powers from the Chronicles of Zero fanfiction series as I was a major nerd for that series while it was still up on Wattpad. The same goes for Zero's guns Diamond Dust and her "secret mysterious boyfriend." If you've read the original Chronicles of Zero then you probably already know who it is.

Hopefully you guys ain't mad about Zero's fanfiction powers being used but I will also use Zero's canon abilities from Rebellion as well as they are closely similar yet different.
