"But what if she says no?" Kanji asked for probably the millionth time.

"She's not going to say no!" They all yelled at once.

"Dude, you're just asking her if she wants to go see a movie with you." Yosuke reasoned. "There is nothing weird about that. So just hurry up and call her already! The suspense is killing me!"

"Alright alright... I'm calling..." he pressed a series of numbers on his phone and held it up to his ear. "Hello? ...Oh uh... hey Naoto... this is Kanji... from the Investigation Team..." everyone in the room face palmed in unison. "I uh... I was uh... I was wondering if you would... like to go see a movie with me...? You would?! Really?! Uh, I mean... awesome! I'll uh... pick you up at five. Cool... thanks. See you then..."

As soon as he hung up, "KANJI FROM THE INVESTIGATION TEAM?!?!" They all yelled at once.

"How many other Kanjis do you think she knows?!" Yosuke yelled.

"And how many of those other Kanjis do you think she has given her phone number to?!" Chie added.

"Plus, she probably has caller ID..." While Yu's response was much calmer, it didn't sting any less.

"Can we just focus on the fact that she actually agreed to go out with me for a second?" he asked helplessly.

Teddie cheered, "Yeah, Kanji doesn't suck!"

"Are you implying that I normally suck you stupid bear?!" he yelled.

"No of course not!" Teddie was once again in the corner crying.

"Well... Now that Teddie is scarred for life..." Yu continued, "We need to get Kanji ready for his date..."

When Kanji knocked on the door of the Shirogane residence, he was not sure what to expect. However, he could definitely say that he was not expecting to see Naoto step out the house not wearing her binder. Kanji felt his face turn tomato red as he just stared at her. She was wearing her that light blue shirt that she likes so much, but it looked like she was only wearing a simple bra underneath. No bandages...

"Good evening Kanji-Kun..." she said blushing herself. It had been a last-minute decision to go without her bindings. She thought maybe... actually... she wasn't quite sure what she was thinking... but she can't do anything about it now. "Shall we go?" she asked.

Kanji simply nodded and they walked to the theater, it wasn't too far from her grandfather's house.

When they got to the theater, Kanji insisted on buying the tickets. She blushed when he did so, but she didn't protest too much. She simply thanked him, and they went to find their seats.

Kanji wasn't going to lie; he didn't pick the movie. He had left that part of the plan to Chie and Yukiko. They said is was a murder mystery, but it had some action to it. In theory, it should be a movie that they would both enjoy.

And by enjoy, they both hated it. However, that didn't dampen their mood. That just meant that they both got to make fun of it. "Did you see when that guy punched the bad guy?! It looked so fake!"

"I know!" She chuckled. "The acting was terrible. Not to mention the story was awful! I know it's a running joke to say 'the butler did it' but come on, how cliché! The butler actually did do it!"

Kanji laughed, "I'm never listening to Chie and Yukiko again!"

Naoto paused "Chie and Yukiko told you to go to this movie?"

"Yeah, they..." Oh, shoot... what was he supposed to say?! "They uh... they uh told me I should go see it! So, I uh... thought I would ask you along. Since you know... it was a mystery."

"Kanji," She met his eyes. "You are a terrible liar. Why did you really ask me here?"

"I..." he started stuttering. "I um... I... Oh, forget this!" Suddenly, he bent down and kissed her on the cheek. Her eyes widened. "I asked you out because I like you... sorry if this makes things awkward now... I just figured I should tell you... I guess I should be going now..."

He moved to walk away when she grabbed his hand. "Kanji..." he looked down and saw that she was blushing. "I um... I think I might like you too..." suddenly she pulled on his jacket so that he was on her level. She then smashed her lips onto his. Kanji was surprised at first, but he soon got over his surprise and melted into the kiss.

"Yeah they did it!" they both broke off the kiss to see Teddie standing in a bush with a pair of binoculars.

"Shut up you idiot!" Yosuke tried to tackle him, but it was too late. They had been spotted.

"YOU WERE SPYING ON US?!" Kanji yelled as the rest of their friends emerged from the bushes.

"We had to make sure you didn't screw anything up." Rise said smiling. "So, are you two officially a couple?" The two blushed but they both nodded.

"Yes!" Chie cheered.

"Oh, you're going to need a ship name!" Yukiko said gleefully.

"What?!" Naoto asked appalled.

"Very true." Yu added "How about KanNao?"

"Oh, good one sensei!"

"We don't need no damn ship name!"

"Of course, you do!"

"You all are acting very strangely..."

They all continued to argue. However, one good thing came from this whole situation. The rebel and the detective had finally found love...
