Kanji took a deep breath as he walked out of his house. He had talked on the phone with Yu senpai the night before, and he was going to help him with his 'problem'. As he walked to the bus station, he tried to remember quite when he realized he had feelings for Naoto.

He was pretty sure that the feelings started back when they thought Naoto was a guy. That's part of what made this so confusing. He really needed to talk things over with Yu once he got to his house.

He was glad he had called Yu for help. He had considered calling one of the girls because they were more adept to these kinds of things. But he knew if he did that, one would tell the other, and that one would tell another, and by the time it was over their whole group would know about it. No, he liked this way better. Keep it close to the chest. He and Yu could have a talk, man to man, and together they could figure out the best thing for him to do with his feelings. No need to involve the others...

The bus arrived at the stop near Yu's house and Kanji stepped out. He walked the rest of the way to the Dojima residence. As he neared the door, he started hearing strange noises. He was just about to knock when the door was suddenly thrown open. Whoever had opened the door had landed on top of him and he had fallen straight on his ass.

"Sorry Kanji!" he recognized that voice... "I was just so bear-cited to see you!"

"Get the hell off me you stupid bear!" Kanji gave him a shove and he rolled off of him. "What the hell are you doing here?!"

"Sensei invited me!" he started sobbing.

Kanji just rolled his eyes and walked inside. To his surprise, all of his friends were sitting in the living room waiting for him. "Did you tell all of them?!" he glared at Yu.

Yu looked at him confused. "Of course. Was I not supposed to?"

Kanji was seething, "Why do you think I only called you?! It was because I wanted to keep the matter PRIVATE!"

"Chill out dude." Yosuke was sitting on the couch sipping a juice box. "We're here to help you, bro. No criticism here."

Kanji sighed, "I guess what's done is done. So... what am I supposed to do?"

"Why don't you tell us the whole story." Rise suggested. "Then we can get a better idea of what we are dealing with."

Kanji sighed. "Where do I start... I guess... I guess I started liking her when she first started talking to me about the case. This was before I was taken into the TV."

"Wasn't that before you knew Naoto was a girl Kanji-Kun?" Teddie asked.

"You got a problem with that you stupid bear?!" Kanji glared at him.

He gulped. "Nope... please continue..."

Kanji sighed, "I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I don't know if I like Naoto because I thought she was a guy, or if I like her because now, I know she is a girl... I liked her before I knew she was a girl, so can I really like her when I liked her as a guy too?"

"Kanji," he looked up at Yukiko. "What is it you like about Naoto?"

He started smiling to himself, "Gosh there's so much, she's smart, and doesn't let little things bother her. She's so determined, I find that really admirable. And though she doesn't show it often, she has a good sense of humor. I just... I just really like her..."

"Then there's your answer." He looked back up at Yukiko. "You clearly like Naoto for the person that she is, it doesn't matter what gender you thought she was when you started liking her. The important thing is that you like her. Now you just need to act on those feelings."

"Really?" he asked, and she nodded. "But how do I do that? I don't even know if she likes me..."

"Hmm..." Chie put a hand to her chin. "I suggest we do a little secret agent work." Everyone looked at her confused. "Yukiko, Rise, and I can go out to lunch with Naoto. We can bring up the topic of a significant other and gage her response. Then we can bring the info back to you guys."

"That's a great idea Chie!" Yukiko clapped her hands. "This is going to be so fun!"

"Oh-oh!" Teddie raised his hand. "Can Teddie go with you?! Teddie is a bear-y good secret agent!"

Yosuke smacked him on the head, "It's supposed to be a girl's day out you dummy. You ain't a chick!"

"You guys would really do that for me?" Kanji looked over at them.

Rise smiled, "Of course Kanji, what are friends for?"

"It's settled then." Everyone looked over to Yu. "The girls will quietly talk to Naoto about her feelings. Depending on her response, we will move on from there." They all nodded and went their separate ways. This might actually work...
