Y/N POV

It's been one month since the game has begun and during that time...I failed to save at least 2,000 lives. The worst thing is, nobody has even cleared the first floor. I might've been a beta tester, but my father purposely changed the games to where even I couldn't find the boss room yet. Today, however, we're having a meeting to figure out where the boss room is. While I was walking towards the area where the meeting war to take place, many people started gossiping about how this game was my fault, but I don't care anymore. I've gotten so many death threats but most people are all talk and no bite. The ones that did have bites got their teeth smashed in and I always made sure it was a duel we were having so i didn't end up killing them. Just touching someone and focusing on their soul is enough for me to kill them. When I arrived, I placed my ripped black cloak over myself so I could hide my face and leaned my back against one of the pillars that overlooked the amphitheater we were at. I then watched as a player named Diabel walked onto the stage.

Diabel: *claps twice* Okay, people! Now that everyone's here, let's get this meeting started! So anyway, I wanted to thank you all for coming today. Good to see you. My name is Diabel and in this game, the job I rolled is knight!*people laugh*

Guy1: Dude, there's no job system in this game!

Guy2: A knight?

Guy3: So is this meeting a joke too?

Diabel: Do you guys want to hear this or not? *serious* Right, Anyways here's the deal. Our party found the boss room at the top of tower today.*Everyone but a few gasp* first, we need to defeat the boss and make it to floor two. The next step is, we need to tell everyone waiting in the town of Beginnings that it IS possible to beat this game. In fact, it's our duty as the most capable players here! Do you agree? Or not?

Many people nodded their heads and started clapping but I just stayed silent.

Diabel: Okay! Glad to hear you're all with me on this. Now, let's figure out how we're going to beat the boss.

Y/N: (I could just my Reaper Form
and Tear it to shreds but I'm unable to use my Reaper Form just yet so let's go with what you have, Diabel)

Diabel: First Up, we'll team up into parties of six!

Y/N: *mutters* Fuck...

Diabel: A typical party doesn't stand a chance against a floor boss. We need a Raid group, made of multiple parties.

I groaned and walked over to a girl who was wearing a cloak and had a rapier as her weapon.

Y/N: So you got left out?

???: Not Even Close. It just seems that everyone else is already friends. Then there's you...Nobody wants to be your friend because of what your father said, right?

Y/N: I only have one friend. *sits down next ???* Hell, The people I helped before my father trapped us all in here have deleted me of their friends list. Just because I helped make this game before I knew what was happening...

???: I feel kinda bad for you. It must suck being called a "Herald Of Death" everywhere you go.

Y/N: I've become numb to it. Anyways, as Diabel as already mentioned, we won't be able to defeat the boss on our own so why not form a party for this one fight?

???: *nods head* Alright.

I then pulled out my menu and I watched as she formed a party with me. The name "Asuna" appeared under mine.

Y/N: So your name is Asuna in this game.*slight smile* I won't lie, it's a beautiful name.

Asuna: Thank you.

After everyone teamed up, Diabel started speaking again.

Diabel: Alright! It looks like everyone's teamed up. Now then-

???: Hold on a second!

We all looked up at a guy with orange hair.

???: My name's Kibaou. Got that? Before we take on the boss, I want to get something off my chest. We all know about the 2,000 people who have died so far, Yeah? Well some of you need to apologize to them right now, especially a certain guy who helped make this god forsaken game!

Y/N: *mutters* I said I'd never use my Reaper's touch on a human being unless they attacked me in real life... but now? Now I'm not so sure...

Asuna: Did you say something?

Y/N: No.

Diabel: Kibaou, these people you're referring to...our mean the ones who are ex-beta testers, right?

Kibaou: Course I mean them! The day this stupid ass game started, the beta guys just up and left us behind! They left all of us beginners! They snagged all the good hunting spots and the grabbed all the easy quests too. They were the only ones getting stronger in here. This whole time they've ignored like we're nothing.

Y/N: *GIF below* This guy's really pissing me off...

Kibaou: Hell, I bet there's a few of 'em here! Come on out beta-testers!

Y/N: Alright. You want us to come out,*summons throwing knife* We'll come out.

Kibaou: We should make them all Apologize! And we should make them give up all their money and earnings they got. Can't expect the party to trust them when they don't trust us.

Y/N: *Growls* That's it.

I then threw the knife right at his feet, making him jump.

Kibaou: WHO THE HELL DID THAT?!

Y/N: Who else would throw a knife in a safe zone, dipshit? *removes cloak's hood to show glowing red eyes*

Guy 1: Oh shit! It's "Grim"!

Guy 2: Where did he come from?

Guy 3: I've heard he's the reason 2,000 people have died. All by his hands.

Y/N: If that was true, I'd have a Red prism over my head, showing you all that I'm a player killer, but as you can all see, mine is completely green. I've been TRYING to help people, Dammit!

Kibaou: You could've told us that your father planned this from the very beginning!

Y/N: AND WHO WOULD'VE BELIEVED ME, HUH?! WHO THE HELL WOULD BELIEVE ME IF I SAID MY FATHER WAS CREATING A VIRTUAL DEATH GAME?! WHO WOULD BELIEVE ME WHEN I'M SAYING SOMETHING THAT WOULD MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO ANYBODY!

???: Can I say something?

I then looked at the man who spoke. The guy's name...Tiffany.

The guy then walked up to Kibaou and was way taller than Kibaou.

???: Hey, name's Agil. Kibaou, right? I wanna make sure I'm on the same page. You say the ex-beta testers as well as the Son Of Akihiko should be blamed for the rookie's deaths. And you want them to apologize and give up their winnings. Did I leave anything out?

Kibaou: N-No. you didn't.

Agil: *pulls out two books* The stores hand these two books out for free. One of them tells you about the monsters that have been introduced to us so far. That book is being handed out by the beta testers. The other book? The other book goes into great detail of how to get stronger in the game as well as secret hunting spots that were put in where the monsters would keep respawning, making it easier for other players to gain winnings as well as leveling up quicker. It talks about monster quests that are repeatable. Further more, this book tells you how to fight with EVERY weapon in the game as well as their strengths and weaknesses, allowing players to get a better understanding of the weapon they use. This book? It was written by Y/N Kayaba himself. The reason he's been grinding so much is so that he could write this book and help as many players as possible. He obviously feels like a bit of this crisis of ours is his fault, even though he only created the some weapons and items for the game.

I was completely shocked that this guy was standing up for me and it actually made me smile for the first time since my father pointed me out in this game, which caused my blood red eyes to quickly turn back to their original color.

Agil: Grim, if you want, you can explain about this book of yours.

Y/N: Gladly.

I then started walking towards the stage and walked up to Agil and offered a handshake and he shook my hand.

Y/N: Before I start, I'd like to thank you for standing up for me. Nobody's ever done that for me since this game.

Agil: I Read both books. I won't lie, had I not read your book, I probably would've been dead by now. In other words, I owe you my life.

Y/N: After this, would it be okay if I send you a friend request?

Agil: Absolutely. Wouldn't mind having someone who knows more about this game than even the beta testers.

Y/N: I don't know everything about the game.

Kibaou: What a load of bullshit! You know everything about this game!

Y/N: Actually, I don't. Once I figured out what my father was planning, I IMMEDIATELY stopped helping him and I actually did try to tell a few people, but as I've already mentioned, nobody believed me. I then tried something and that was to delete all the progress he had ever made on the game. Only problem was; he changed the password to the master computer that store all the data, meaning I couldn't access it. Now then, onto the book of mine.

I then started explaining everything about the book and I could tell that everyone was listening closely but I then looked towards Asuna and noticed that she had a small smile on her face. Once we were all done, I heard new gossip.

Guy 1: Maybe this Grim guy isn't that bad.

Guy 2: I didn't realize Y/N wrote the book.

Guy 3: So that's why he was always in the field.

Guy 4: Man, Maybe he really does want to help us finish this game.

Y/N: *looks at Diabel* Sorry about the interruption.

Diabel: It's fine. You're protecting your reputation as well as you can.

I nodded my head with a small smile and walked back over to Asuna.

Asuna: I should thank you as well.

Y/N: Hmm?

Asuna: I learned more about how to use a Rapier.

Y/N: You're welcome.

Diabel then continued with the meeting and then he mentioned the boss's name: Illfang the Kobold Lord. Diabel then went on about everything about Illfang's weaponry and attack patterns but I had to mention one more thing.

Y/N: Real quick, I overheard my father speak about throwing players off guard with a certain boss. I'm not sure if it's Illfang, but I'd be on your best guard. If it is Illfang, the thing my father most likely changed is his Talwar to a different weapon so be careful.

Diabel: Thank you, Y/N.

Y/N: It's a pleasure to help. I'll do anything to stop this game.

Everyone then left and I watched as Asuna left me behind to do whatever she wanted to do and I went to do what I needed to do. I searched and searched until finally, I found her.

???: Ready to get to work, Grim?

Y/N: Yes, it's about time we got back to work, *smiles* Rat.
