Chapter 10
I rushed to my room and tore apart drawers searching for the picture. I know who it is, or was... The boy from my dream. Wasn't his name Cole? My heart raced as I searched, and stopped my I pulled it up.
"Cole." I whispered looking at the drawing, but there was knock at my door, I stuffed the drawing away. I opened the door and Slick arid in the door.
"Hey. Look who's awake." He said.
"Look who's talking." I said. He chuckled.
"I guess. You okay? You look a little shaken up." He asked.
"Just shaken up, like you said. Nothing to worry about." I said.
"Dreams isn't it?" He asked.
"How'd you know?" I asked. We sat on the bed.
"Because..." He didn't continue.
"Tom." I said. "You can tell me. "Don't you trust me?"
"Of course I trust you." He sighed. it's just complicated."
"Well we have time." I said. He sighed, but gave a small nod.
"When I was a child I've always had... An unusual power. Whenever I slept, I could... Jump into other peoples dreams. Inside the dreams it seemed that I could control them. If I wanted a unicorn, boom it was there, by if u wanted a mass murder, it also appeared. But the thing it, if someone died in the dream I was in.... They would stay dead. Or at least in a coma. As I grew older, I hide my ability to myself. I killed my family Rose."
"Tommy..." I said and embraced him in a hug.
"Why aren't you scared of me...?" He asked numbly.
"I can tap into people minds, lift over hundred pounds without trying, make fire from my hands and run nearly as fast as Kid Flash." I tightened my arms around him. "I might not remember but I might have killed as well. Actually I don't remember much before Catniss." He returned the embrace wrapping his arms around me.
"Thank you." He whispered.
"For?"
"Being a friend." He said. "It's hard to remember the last time I had a good friend." I'm unaware for how long we sat there. Enjoying the warmth of our words. But when we broke apart from our little hug, we sat and chat.
"What was it like when you first came here?" He had asked. I laughed thinking about.
"Different." I said.
"You guys alive?" The knock on the door made me realized that we had chatted for about two hours.
"I think so." I said.
"Right." Slick said.
"Okay. Both of you should eat." The footsteps faded away. My stomach replied with a walrus like noise.
"Guess we should." Slick said cracking a smile.
"Let's go eat some grilled cheese or something." I said.
"With spaghettiOs."
